Bad, Bad, Bad!I bought one & has never been able to hold zero from one day to the next.
It has all the features I want but is unreliable even with top quality Burris Mnts.
Zeroed perfect one day & up to 3" out @ 50m the next time out! again & again!
Cons:
Something is wrong with the internals on the one I got.The zero keeps moving from day to day.
Great Scope

This scope is an excellent scope for the price. It comes highly recommended. I use it on my Gamo Hunter Extreme .22 and I can nail targets 70yds with ease.Excellent!

I think this is a wonderful scope, I have the same model of this on with rubber armor form. The only thing a little bit eh on this gun is the eye relief but everything else is perfect. Leapers 5th Gen 3-9x40 AO Mil-Dot Scope with R/G, 1" Tube

I would not recommend this type of scope for a rim fire rifle, though it can be used it will likely wear out faster on a normal rifle. The recoil on an air rifle is different than a normal rifle and scopes are designed to with stand the different recoils, so air gun scopes will wear out very quickly on a normal rifle, reportedly some times on the first shot. This also works the other way as well, normal rifle scopes will wear out much faster on an air rifle.

It should be fine for a .22 lr or a .17 hmr.By Chevota from CA on May 8, 2012
Answer:
There is no way in hell a 22 rimfire is going to hurt this scope, it will last forever on it. Airgun scopes are different that regular rifle scopes, but they're not weaker in any way, they're much stronger. The reason is spring piston airguns have a much sharper recoil than a firearm, not a stronger overall recoil, but much sharper and the scope sees more G's. Plus the recoil is reversed, the sharp recoil is forward, not aft like a firearm. Firearm scopes are designed for soft rearward recoil, not sharp forward. The problem is mainly in the lens and how they're attached internally, an airgun can knock the lens loose from the reverse pounding. Also the reticle needs to be strong too in order to withstand that high G shock. So basically if a scope can handle a spring piston airgun it can handle anything! Many quality firearm scopes will last just fine on an airgun, but it is stressful and they do fail now and then, I've only had one fail myself. Now I use either airgun scopes or Nikon firearm scopes and haven't had a problem since. This btw is an excellent scope and an excellent price. I don't know if the mfg designed it specifically for airguns or not, but even if they didn't it's clearly strong enough.
