German quality, hand-assembled and ready to accept any task you give it! At only 7.3 lbs., this breakbarrel marvel will delight you with spot-on accuracy. The R9 begs to be shot all day long, and you'll have a hard time refusing. Repeatable accuracy is built into the gun at the factory, and you won't outgrow it. Its German heritage ensures that it'll perform flawlessly for hunting, pest elimination, paper targets, field targets or plinking. If you plan to shoot field target, .177 is the optimum caliber. If hunting small game and pest elimination are in your plans, .20 caliber is a better choice.

The hardwood Monte Carlo stock includes a slightly raised cheekpiece that is so unobtrusive that it's ambidextrous! The dependable breakbarrel mechanism is smooth and easy to cock. The famous Rekord trigger is the standard by which all other triggers are measured and can be adjusted to suit your needs. Easily add a scope on the 11mm dovetails; accepts a vertical scope stop pin.

Field target, plinking, spinners and paper targets are perfect for this caliber.

Every thing claimed and used to describe this product in the dealer write up is absolutely true. Very good finish quality and good accuracy with barely a 100 pellets thru it. Just be sure to clean the barrel before using it. I know accuracy will get even better as it is broken in (based on my experience with my HW 97K). The reason why I bought another HW Airgun. The gun was dis assembled to fit size requirementfor international shipment, was delivered and received in pristine condition due to meticulous packaging for the the long journey. Good job, Airgun Depot.

For those wondering whether the .177 has sufficient velocity for small game at 20 yards, see picture. Very accurate. Open sights more than adequate for back yard use.

Pros
Exudes quality. Very accurate out of the box.

Cons
I don’t like that you can’t re-engage the safety without re-cocking. Otherwise it’s perfect.

I read some reviews of people bellyacheing over stock screws coming loose. Do some research before buying a springer! All of the screws need blue loctite, that includes scope mount screws. Get a quality scope like a Leapers or Hawke AirMax. Get some quality pellets like H&N FTT or JSB. Then practice practice practice! Lastly I have the HW95 22. It was over greased and I took it apart and cleaned out the grease and noticed that the mainspring was broke in a couple of places at the top. I used a torch an and heated up the spring, flattened it, sanded it, relubed it, now it shoots like a dream. It lost 2 fpe but gained in accuracy. I can't tell the difference between 17fpe and 15fpe and neither can the squirrel's ???. If you are a break barrel person thinking about getting the Beeman R9//HW95 then do it, you won't be sorry????. SpringPistonRifleFever LoneWolfStrength.

Pros
This is one of the best springers ever. Perfectly balanced, awesome stock, blueing is great, best trigger, extremely accurate, not pellet picky, powerful, high quality open sights. Shoots Crosman Premiere Hollow Point 14.3 grain very good, 10 under a dime at 20 yards.

Cons
The only cons is the price. If I could afford all of the calibers in the Beeman R9/HW95, I definitely would. The HW95 comes in 25 caliber also and is more affordable.

I really wanted to like this gun but it kept disappointing me. I knew about the loose screws so I made sure the side stock screws were coated with blue loktite then left overnight to set up. The first few shots were looking good then they started going all over the place. I kept shooting all kinds and brands of pellets. I have a lot but things didn’t get any better. The next day I looked it over and found the front trigger screw was loose. Tightened it up and started shooting good. Some pellets were grouping well under 1/2” at 26 yds. Then they went to 1-1.5 inches. I was puzzled as to why. Checked the screws and found them tight. The next day I looked at it again and noticed the rear trigger screw was almost to fall out. I tighter it then it started to group better but nothing like before. I shot a few more shots and the front sight fell right off the gun on the table. Returned it today. Maybe I had a lemon.

Pros
The gun in .177 cal was beautifully made and felt very comfortable in the hands. The Monte Carlo stock was impressive. It locked up tight and firm. Cocking effort was amazing. I was excited to shoot it. But that is where the fun ended. I ended up returning it today. Airgundepot was great about the return.

Cons
Monte Carlo stock is to hight to to shoot open sights. Leave them off and spend the money on better scope mount. Mounted a UTG 4-16x44 30mm AO scope from off my Diana 350 N-Tec mag and went shooting. I expected to improve on my Sig ASP30 but that didn’t happen. Sometimes it was equal but other times it was way worse and I explain below.

Pros
Beman stocks are very well made and nicely finished with very gripy checkering. The finish on the entire gun is just what you'd expect from Beman Precision. This is my 3rd Beman Precision and they're all very well finished. The Rekord trigger is among the best out there with a predictable 1st stage that comes up against a solid stop and with just a little pressure, the trigger breaks.

Cons
The one thing that I'm really disappointed about is the amount of barrel droop this gun has. When took the first shot at 17yrds, it completely missed the target and hit the ground a foot in front of the target. I use an 12" X 12" electrical junction box filled with duct seal and it sits on the ground. I have somewhere in the neighborhood of 15 break barrels and 5 pcps. I've never completely missed the target on the first shot. At first, I though something was wrong with the mounts. Then I looked down the spring tube and I could actually see the droop. This is something that I expect from Beman China guns, not from the German made Precision factory. What the heck happened to them?. Did their quality go down once Air Venturi took them over? I had to use almost all the elevation adjustment to zero it and not only is that not good for the scope, it also means that I don't have any more adjustment and it doesn't hold zero very well. I'm considering returning it.

If someone asked which caliber I would go for a .22. The .20 is a great shooter but pellet selection is not great. I have found that H&N or JSB mid weight round nose field target pellets seem to work best.

Pros
I have shot air rifles for over 60 years and own 33. I have 3 R9s and a 98. I have all three calibers. The reason is simple this is my favorite air rifle. I have them tuned according to the caliber .177 14ftlb, .20 16 ftlb and .22 18ftlb. All of them are my most accurate springers with only my 150fwb being more accurate at short range. The guns cock smoothly and are of a perfect weight for target or hunting. Fit and finish are excellent. Top them off with a 4-14 mildot compact scope. For someone asking me for a recommendation on there first springer it would be Weihrauch R9/ HW95. After tuning there is no real recoil making it easy to shoot. It has the best trigger. Stack pellets at 30 yards if you can shoot. Perfect air rifle.

Cons
Out of the box it is a little dry and buzzy. A proper tuning makes the rifle smooth as silk. I use John in Pa. for tunes.

The R1 is the rifle overall for most of us as the "standard." The R9 is a lighter more manageable version. Shooting steel field targets at 27 yards using .177 CP 10.5 gr pellets is absolutely satisfying with the R9. I put a Nikon 2-7X 32mm scope on it after using the iron sights. The iron sights are great like all HW sights, but you'll want a scope beyond 30 yards for sure. I ended up with wavy light wide grain wood--unusual for beech and stained light; unusual again. Cocking and recoil are surprisingly lower than expected. Noise is too. This gun covers best all good things in one rifle.

Pros
Gentle personality for such a strong springer.

Cons
If you live in Illinois you can only buy the .177. I wanted a .20.

Have had this rifle fo a few months now. I am amazed every time I shoot it. Insanely accurate, barel closes like a bank vault, beautiful wood ad deep deep blueing. Easy to cock and hits hard. I also own a Air Arms S500 in.22 but fir short yardages I prefer the Beeman. You can spend more for a quality springer but you don't have to with the Beeman. It likes Baracuda Match 10.65 grain pellets. If your don,t have one of these you are missing out on a great rifle. GET IT NOW!

Pros
Accurate, beautiful, excellent tolerences and machining.

Cons
A little heavy but it makes for an extremely stable hold.

I have owned at least 20 different springers in my time and this one is the best overall one I have ever owned. I have owned all 3 calibers and tuned all of them. The best one I ever had was tuned with a Vortek kit in .22cal and shot H&N FTS at 750fps and was very smooth. It was my squirrel hunting gun for 3 years. It has the best power to weight ratio and is easy to carry in the woods all day. If I had to have only one springer, this by far would be the one.

Pros
Lightweight and accurate

Cons
Everybody has one Need to make a better stock.

Where are Beeman rifles manufactured?

asked Nicole from USA

Of the current Beeman lineup, The R9, R7, P1 and P3 are made in Germany by Weihrauch. The less expensive modern Beemans are made in China.

Dan from USA

I want to mount the Hawke 3-12x42 vantage on a R9, what height rings should I use

asked Donald from USA

i use a hawke 3-9x50 ir vantage on a hatsan 95 with great success. tall rings are used with 4 screw caps to keep the scope from sliding back. the hatsan will eat chinese scopes. my other 3 scopes on different guns are 3-9x40 hawke airmax on r9, diana 350 mag and diana 48. love those hawkes

Dennis from USA

For a 1" tube scope you will need high rings. We suggest a Airmax scope if you want a Hawke. The Vantage line is not tared for springs over 12 ftlbs.

I am buying a beeman r9 .20 for my hubby. Should I get one with scope included or not? Thanks

asked V j

Get him the scoped version if he prefers shooting with scopes or if his eyesight isn't good. But the un-scoped version has excellent open sights if he likes shooting without a scope.

Dan from USA

buy a higher priced scope(hawke airmax) and he'll love you more( kinda pricey tho)
