Benjamin Marauder PCP Air Rifle .177 cal Repeater 1100 fps Refurbished

This is my 2nd Marauder, my first being a .22 cal model purchased a couple of years back. This is also the second refurbished rifle I've purchased from Airgun Depot. The .177 Marauder is every bit as outstanding as it's .22 sibling. My refurb came well packed (thanks AGD) in a Benjamin box with the included 10 shot mag and manual. I mounted a Leapers 4-16 x 40 scope to a set of Accushot medium rings atop the receiver and took it out to the range. The rifle performed as expected, flawlessly. Sighted at 40 meters, the rifle shoots dime-sized groups with very little effort required by the shooter. As good as this rifle prints on paper, it's true calling is as a hunting gun. Here is where the .177 Marauder excels. I've not chrony'd this rifle, so I cannot speak of it's overall velocity with various pellets. But I can tell you, it's more than capable of cleanly taking a raccoon with a single head-shot. This makes the .177 Marauder a very versatile caliber here on the farm. It's light enough for sparrows and starlings, yet powerful enough to reach out 30 or 40 meters and punch through the thick skin of larger pests. If you are looking for a top-notch PCP with power matched with accuracy, the Marauder in any caliber is hard to beat. If the majority of your quarry tends to be on the smaller end of the spectrum with an occasional raccoon or possum, the .177 Marauder is more than capable of handling the job.
