1911 blank firing gun
June 13, 2009
I am very pleased with this blank firer. It bears a very keen resemblance to the real thing, good to ward off any burglars if you don't want the extreme responsibility of keeping a real firearm in your home. A very easy gun to operate, though it does operate slightly differently than a real 1911. There is no extractor mechanism on the rear of the slide, nor a grip safety. These aren't very obviously until you inspect the gun very closely. One thing I didn't like is that you can't rack the slide with an empty magazine, which is difficult when trying to teach someone how to use it. The gun is rather heavy, which may seem like a good thing to a real 1911 enthusiast, but to anyone else, it will be annoying after a while of holding it. It cycles rounds fairly well taking into consideration the odd shape of the blanks. I have had a few jams with it, but after I put a few hundred more rounds through it, it should be fine. A very fine piece, I highly recommend it.
