a very accurate and stout gun
April 27, 2014
The first thing I did is loaded it and fired at a wd40 can at about 10 yards away. I was happy to hit it on the first try; even more, the bullet went right thru the can. I tried shooting at a further target about 30 yards away with H&N hollow points, bullet didn't even drop, I'm happy I bought this little gun. Its small but terrible in the right way. Accurate and powerful.
Pros:
Its powerful and accurate. Anti recoil system works great.
Cons:
Front sight is a little too wide for my preference but still functional. Don't rest your muzzle on anything, you'll fell the recoil.

Powerful and Accurate
August 19, 2013
Great pistol for getting rid of pest humanely. Plenty of power and very accurate right out of the box. Shooting quarter size groups at 10 yds
Pros:
Nice looking piece, Browning I'd a great job with this pistol
Cons:
Weight and size

Right pellets make the 800 great
July 29, 2013
When I first got Browning .22 pistol I could not find a pellet that made this worth the money. RWS 14.3 hp were were bouncing off most targets soft or hard. RWS pointed were slightly better, same with a half dozen other pellets. Finally I tried H&N hp 12.65 grains and it made this gun a hard hitting .22 pistol. The pellet skirt barely fits in barrel and the slightly lighter weight combine to make this pistol lethal to critters. I have a modified 2240 that gets off about 8 strong shots on one cartridge when it is warm out. Waste of co2 and pellets after you get off the strong shots. The Browning 800 mag .22 gets good power and accuracy shot after shot with H&N 12.65 hp. Matched up with the right pellets this is equal to a mid range rifle. I have a ruger .22 mag that is a beast but for a pistol I enjoy the 800 mag since I have found the best pellet match for my particular pistol. I usually like RWS but H&Ns hit the mark this time
Pros:
Just as accurate with cocking assist on or off so that is helpful. It has a recoil absorber that is helpful. Consistent performer.
Cons:
If you are not used to springer pellet guns, this might not be for you

A Very Nice Gun For the Price. Made in Turkey NOT CHINA
March 6, 2013
I don't think there is a pistol out there you can get at this price that shoots with this power and with the kind of consistency as this Browning Express 800. It's heavy and big physically. It is a well constructed weapon. I really like the ergonomics and the rubber grip. It fits well in your hand. I will tell you this, I got this gun from AGD by mail. After putting 40 or 50 pellets through it, I noticed that one of the large screws holding it together was gnarled. I was reluctant to shipping it back for the damaged screw because it shot so well. But after a few days of thought, I said to myself "I bought a new gun, I want a new gun." I sent the pistol right back without a problem from AGD who always honors their warranties and return policies. I can't wait to get the exchange. This weapon is a lot of fun to shoot! By the way there is a good video review of this exact gun in .22. You just have to look for it.
Pros:
Solid. Accurate. Consistent. POWERFUL. Ergonomically pleasant. Nice Looking. Well Built.
Cons:
Nothing outside Browning's Quality Control. Stripped screws on new products? Not good.

Very powerful
January 28, 2013
This gun is very powerful and seems to be accurate. I would hate to be a rodent that got shot by one of these. Lol
Pros:
It has zombie pigeon knockdown power!
Cons:
It has 11 mm dovetail rail. I wish it had the regular weaver rail to mount a scope.

Very accurate, hard to cock
December 25, 2012
I think this is a great gun for plinking and even hunting small game. It is EXTREMELY hard to cock but overall it is a great gun. It came sighted in nicely but after I made a few adjustments I got nickel sized groups at 15 yards. If you are thinking about purchasing a high powered pistol, I would definitely recommend this gun.
Pros:
-accuracy -high powered -fiber optics -break barrel mechanism
Cons:
-very hard to cock

Browning 800
October 31, 2012
This gun shoots very well. I am getting nickel sized groups at 13 yards, and it has only had about 40 rounds through it. I leave the cocking assister on the barrel and shoot through it, it does not effect the shot and it is just easier. It is not quite as powerful as a springer rifle. However, it still packs a respectable punch on grey squirrels. It was a little stiff in the trigger and safety out of the box, but is loosening up rapidly with use. Today I mount a Hawke Red Dot 30 on it, and will see how that works. That should be OK, it does not have a lot of recoil, and such a sight, or a pistol scope, should work on this gun. It does require a two handed, bent arm, shooting position due to the weight.
Pros:
The Browning 800 Express is accurate and has plenty of power for its size.
Cons:
Nothing negative at this time. It is a pistol, do not expect it to shoot like a rifle, and you will be happy with it.

Great Gun
September 26, 2012
Just purchased this in august 2012. Appears to be good quality but I was surprised to find my 800 was manufactured in Turkey. The one pump is a great feature and the barrel extension provides enough leverage to make that possible for most adult users. The power is great but a BSA red dot scope just refuses to not slide off the barrel dovetail no matter how much i torque the screws. Anyone have a suggestion out there? What red dots actually work?
Pros:
Everything
Cons:
Needs a scope slide stop

under priced
September 6, 2012
Impressive weapon, it is always hard to know what you are buying on-line. I had never shot a hand gun before but the first time out of the box the 5th shot was a bulls eye. Super, super pleased. I bought a laser but haven't mounted it yet. I wanted the laser for night varmint killing. Very quite. My rws is as loud as a 22 short. If the neighbors windows are closed I doubt they would even hear this. We have .75 acre lots 150' wide. My next purchase will probably be a glock 20. Unfortunately, I cannot purchase that at this website.
Pros:
Everything
Cons:
A little heavy but little recoil.

Another excellent and powerful pistol
June 19, 2012
Yes, they're big and a bit on the heavy side, but I do like break barrel pistols; they're great for distance shooting, and all you need is a tin of quality pellets. I also own a Diana LP-8, which is a superb air pistol, and the Browning stands its ground in a side by side comparison. This airgun has something of a floating grip to lessen recoil, a trigger adjustment for the first stage, and a cocking aid. This is no easy gun to cock out of the box, though I expect it may get easier with use. It's capable of shooting very tight groups, and with the fully adjustable fiber optic sights, or whatever sighting option you want to mount on the 3/8" dovetail, you can easily zero it in for targets, light hunting, or accurate plinking. A fun shooter.

Very powerfull !
April 24, 2012
The gun is just as it appears: big, heavy and powerful. It was capable of good groups from a distance of 30 meters (and no apparent loss of power at that distance). I am sure that this gun would be quite a hunter, not only for controlling small pests, but also larger animals. That said, I am very satisfied with my purchase very good quality \ price. Thank you again.
Pros:
Accuracy, power and long range.
Cons:
Nothing is really bad.

Browning 800 .22 Excellent Pistol
February 22, 2012
I just received my new pistol and it is a good-looking piece. If you are looking for small and compact this one is not for you. I have run 50 rounds or so threw it and itís much more accurate out of the box than any of the air rifles I have purchased. It is a little on the heavy side but the accuracy makes it all worth it. I was a little skeptical at first but all that is gone. Hitting what you, point it ate is 90% user. I have over 40years worth of target shooting behind me and I am not fond of the sights, adding a scope sounds like a good idea, 2 - 3 power works very good with my Ruger, any more makes one nervous to drop the hammer. The first stage on the trigger is a little long on the pull but the 4lb part I never noticed. My range is 50 & 60ft for pistols but this thing has the potential for more. It is worth every nickel.
Pros:
Good Looks, Accuracy I can't think of anything I donít like other than it won't fit in my pocket.
Cons:
The fiber sights are just not for me.

Super service and a great air gun.
December 4, 2011
I saw this pistol on the website and it said " Out of stock." I was less than pleased, so I called up Airgun Depot to see when it would be ready to ship. The dude told me, " We can get it for you through our ohio office". Great I say. Ship her to me! 4 days later it arrived at my door. Super Service! (as usual) A Great air gun at a fair price with the best service in the bizz!
Pros:
Well made, not from China. Power and fun. Worth the Money.
Cons:
Nothing. Great piece.

August 19, 2010
I LOVE THIS GUN. ITS LIKE HAVING A RIFLE IN A PISTOL. IVE HUNTED MANY SQUIRRELS AND RABBITS WITH THIS GUN BUT WITH 600 FPS AND A 22. CAL PELLET I'D TRUST IT FOR LARGER ANIMALS LIKE RACCOONS, ACTUALLY 600 FPS WITH 22. CAL IS THE SUGGESTED MUZZLE ENERGY FOR RACCOON. AND WITH THIS GUN YOU DON'T HAVE TO MESS WITH CO2, PCP, OR PUMPING TO GET THE HIGH VELOCITY OF THIS PISTOL. SO IF YOU WANT YEARS OF HUNTING FUN PICK THIS UP!!!!

what are some pros and cons of this gun?
By KB from Louisville, KY on January 7, 2012

Answer:
Very pleased with the performance of this pistol!
PROS: Shoots well with only 100 shots through it. Chrony'd @ 469 fps w 14.66 GN, Xtreme of 11.13 and SD of 3.16. Pretty consistent 7 Ft-lbs of muzzle energy with different pellets. Despite what I have read on other blogs, I shot 2" groups at 12yrds off hand (most of the variance was me!). I consider this accurate for the price and nature of this pistol. I am a huge RWS fan, but happy to have this Browning as my first spring pistol (have IZH and CO2's but that is apples and oranges)
CONS: Trigger break is a bit abrupt and travel high. I suspect this is where the extra cost of the RWS resides. Have read complaints about cocking effort, however I do not find this an issue and nor should you if you are accustom break barrel spring guns.
Enjoy! My son and I have......
By Darrell from Florida on January 7, 2012

Answer:
This is my first break barrel pistol. I use it for target practice. I found the pistol to have a comfortable fit and to be very accurate. The adjustable rear site is a great feature as well as the auto safety when loading. It is much heavier then my pump and CO2 pistols and I had difficulty in maintaining a steady hand without support or two hand grip. The force required to break the barrel is quite high and the leaverage bar furnished with the gun is needed, but well worth it, for the power and accuracy you experience. The Browning 800 Express is a quality built pistol and I expect to get many years of use from it.

If I have to pick a con for this pistol, it would be the weight, and that may be something I just have to get use to.

what is the difference between 177 cal and 22 cal, is it just the size, is the 22 more accurite ? sorry to sound stupid
By Staff on February 23, 2012

Answer:
Yes the difference is just size, the .22 is bigger and people report more accuracy on the .22 cal over the .177. Though you do get more speed with the .177.
