Attached this Scope to my Ruger .22 Air Magnum. This Rifle is a Cannon so I can see where the raw poundage dished out caused problems. Scope Looked great and lit up well. Both Set screws to secure the Windage and elevation actually backed out of the scope; lost 1, found 3. I am holding on with the 3. At just under $60 I really can't complain a whole lot. Had I known this would happen; LockTite could have/would have prevented this. Most important, you can not adjust the scope during cold temps - Not happening. Here in GA, it was cold during Feb of 2013 when it arrive. April came and the scope sighted perfect and held thru Nov. Noticed the Set screws missing. Now with cold temps in Jan I can no longer adjust Windage / Elevation due to Cold Temps. Shoot it - adjust it during warmer temps, add some LockTite to the Set screws and you will be OK with it. My Air Magnum was the problem of raw poundage that this scope could just not handle.
Pros
Great in temps above 60 degrees. - sighted in well and held up against a strong Air Rifle for a few months.
Cons
Four months of average shooting; the Set Screws backed out. Lost 1, saved 3. You need to sight the scope - You need to LockTite the screws. Can't handle a highly powerful Air Rifle.
This is by far more than I expected for the money. I mounted this scope temporarily on my Stoeger X10 .177 air rifle and sighted it in. I can't miss. I say I mounted it temporarily because my girlfriend bought me a Benjamin Trail NP 1100 XL for my birthday and this scope will go on that gun when it arrives later this week.
Pros
Easy to mount and sight in.
Illuminated mil dot reticle.
Price.
Cons
Haven't found anything negative yet.
I also have a UTG with about the same specs as this centerpoint scope. I put this centerpoint scope on my Hatsan Bt65 .25 cal. and it is unstoppable. I love this scope so much, I gave the UTG to my son to put on his GAMMO Bull whisper extreme. If you want to hit your targets no matter the distance this is the scope for you.
Pros
The flip up lens protector broke on me already. But that's a baby variety.
Gotta love the price, even lower than wally world.
Pros
Clear, crisp, and clean optics that are found on more pricey scopes. Even battery and allen wrench included.
Cons
a little heavy but well constructed
Open box special scope to replace the one on my refurbished Ruger air magnum that I purchased a week before. Very happy with both purchases couldn't ask for anything better especially at these prices.
Pros
Everything!
Cons
Nothing!
I bought this to replace the Gamo scope that came stock with the bone whisper extreme. At 30yrds, you can see where the pellets are hitting the target without the need for a spotting scope. It also has 2 color illumination which is nice, but hard to see during bright sunlight. Changing distances makes for easy adjustments on the scope and keeps the pellet on target. A very nice scope for the price.
I put this on my Hatsan 125 and it works great. The only time I have to re-zero it, is when I change ammo type. The big hand adjustable windage/elevation controls are easy to use. Much easier than fumbling around with a screwdriver. Image and cross hairs are sharp. Focusing at any distance is a breeze.
Pros
Quality of build. Price. Easy adjustment of windage/elevation.
Cons
Nothing
I put this scope on my Gamo Hunter Super Sport. I used the medium height one piece Gamo mount that came with the gun. I would recommend using a higher base because the scope cap hits the barrel and I had to take them off. The mil dots are great if you like shooting different kinds of pellets. I sighted it in for the Gamo match pellets and if I want to use the PBA Raptors I Just use the top mil dot. Taken a few hundred shots with it and so far so good.
Pros
Mil Dots
Price
Comes with caps and extra mounts
Illumination
Cons
Nothing so far
I currently have this scope on a .177 Gamo Viper and it's great. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is because I had to return my first one because of adjustment problems.
Pros
Great scope for the money
Clear
Built well
Holds zero well
Cons
May have to send one back to get a good one.
Question?
Login to ask someone who bought this product.I want to purchase flip up cover for this scope and can't seem to find what size I need? Anybody help?
asked Chandlerwill this fit on my gamo hornet 177.. I would love to get this
asked joshWill this ring mount (Hawke Sport Optics 1pc Match Series 1in 9-11mm Rifle Scope Ring Mount, High HM6146) work with this Centerpoint scope on my Gamo Hornet?
asked RobI have a Beeman barrel break air rifle .177 and 22 barrel combo. I dropped the original scope and broke the cross hair wire so I thought would try this scope. I zeroed it in at 10y spot on but when I move out to other yardages it's not only shooting high but also left. Can anyone tell me why?
asked Heathdid you happen to change barrels after zeroing? is the scope plum with the center line of the barrel? can it be shooter error? you can also try zeroing at a further range, then try the 10Y. 10Y doesn't reveal too much of the pellet flight, whereas further down range will. just a 1/16" off center at 10Y may result in being 1" or 2" off @ 30Y.
WALTER from USAwhat size scope covers does it need?
asked Chandlerit comes with flip up lens caps.
WALTER from USAI have a Benjamin airgun (22 caliber) so I need to know if this scopes mounting will work for my airgun and any other kind of scope that can fit my airgun.. thanks a lot!
asked Festus B. Ringangas long as your scope base will take weaver mounts, the included rings will allow you to mount it. the included rings are pretty cheezy, i would plan on getting new rings anyway.
WALTER from USAWill this scope stand the recoil of a nitro piston air rifle?
asked JohnI have to comment on this one. I purchased this scope to mount on a Maverick 88 20 gauge shotgun for shooting 5/8 ounce slugs. I can't even tell you how many slugs I ran through that gun but that scope never lost center! Awesome scope!!!
HeathYes, most people find the CP 4-16 very durable, and I have it on my powerful springer with no drawbacks.
Kevin from USAYes, I have around 3,000 pellets (.22 cal 14.3gr, along with around 500 heavier pellets) through my rifle, Crosman Venom, since i mounted the scope. I contacted Crosman / Centerpoint to confirm that this and all of their scopes are airgun rated, they had confirmed so via a return email. I have had no issues with it keeping a zero or the clarity. Just want to remind as in my previous answer to someone else, the scope I got differed from the pictured one. The one I got is the supposed "new & improved" version the way the turrets and cosmetics are, along with havng a more traditional 8 dot per crosshair reticle vs. the original design's 12 dots. This scope can also be seen at your local Walmart if in stock, it runs $69.00 on the shelf. Whether it's an airrifle, rimfire or light to med. cal. centerfire, this is probably the best you can find in a scope for under $100.00, or for that matter under $200.00.
WALTER from USAI purchased this scope after reading reviews of pepole who were using it. It is currently on my hatsan spring piston air riffle. I shot it at least 1000 times and the scope still holds true. No problems at all. I have had more trouble with higher priced scopes but my 2 centerpoint scopes just keep working.
Clifford from USAMy personal experience with this scope has not been good. 1st scope would not keep center. The turret knobs had free-play in and away from tube. I got a warranty replacement (10 dollars). I have shot about 100 pellets .22 cal on my Hatsan 125 Sniper Vortex. It has stayed stable at 15 yards so it does seem to handle the recoil. But trying to zero to 50 yards has not been as predictable as expected. I suspect it is a scope problem and not the rifle.
Guillermo from USAI have it on my 1250fps Gamo super sport and it works very well.
Rob from USAI have a Ruger Magnum, will this scope fit?
asked Robert from USAIt would have to depend on the height of the rings you choose to put on it, ensuring that there is enough clearance of the objective to the barrel / receiver. I really don't like the idea of using the rings that come with the optic as they are somewhat "chimsey". They have come loose on my .22lr, I imagine the even more recoil of a springer or Nitro piston will be even more jarring and making the rings loose.
WALTER from USAI have a Gamo bone collector bull whisper and I put so many different scopes on it but they won't stay. Will this one stay?
asked elliott mcdavidThe problem may noy be in the scopes. I have many airguns and have had to return a couple Gamo products because the pivot point may not be tight when the gun is closed. If you can wiggle the barrel side to side even 1 or two thousandths on an inch you will never get any accury out of the gun. Also check all stock screws and make sure they are tight. Another way to verify a lose pivot joint would be to use the open sights mounted on the barrel and see if the gun holds in tighter without the scope. Good luck for my scopes hold quite well!
Alan from USAIts hard to say but the problem aint the scopes its that break barrels have a foward then back jerk wich makes any scope touhg to stay.but make sure u use the stop also helps.thats why i got the Benjamin marauder it has virtilay no recoil an my scope don move after each shot cost a lil more but ul never need another air rifle again.
patrickWill this scope mount to my Gamo big cat 1250 with the stock mounts or the mounts that come with the stock Gamo scope?
asked stephen farrisI believe the rings that come with it are too big, so you will have to use the Gamo mounts
scott from USAThe description says it comes with medium, see-thru rings. Specs say it comes with high-profile rings. Which is it?
asked CalvinIt comes with medium see-through rings.
Scott from USACan I put this scope Ruger air hawk?
asked Nicole from USAYES!!! Works great on all the Ruger rifles. It's a great scope. You may have to change the rings, but that's no biggy.
GibbyWill this scope be a good addition to my Benjamin Titan GP Nitro Piston .22?
asked nathan from USAYes, totally. That would be a great scope for that gun.
Conor from USAOk people I have this exact scope on a high power rifle .3oo win mag not an air rifle is it not made for this or what? Where can I find the bdc for this scope?
asked bradYes, this scope works fine. I have one on my 30-06.
nathan from USASo I got this scope and I went to sight it in and it won't move up any more. The dial for elevation is all the way up and is still hitting about 6-7 inches low. Any advice would be great, please reply.
asked Kyle GiannottiCheck your rings. I ran into the same problem with some aftermarket mounts. After some messing around, I discovered that the heights were slightly different. I swapped the back to the front and now I've got adjustment both ways.
ChrisWhat gun do you have it on? Some airguns have a thing called "barrel-droop." What you can do is put a small piece of paper under the back mount (under the scope and between the ring). That should solve the problem.
Conor from USAIf anything what's wrong with it? And how many do you have in stock ?
asked J.W.Go ahead and read the review of this product and that will help with knowing the pros and cons of this scope. We are out of stock right now but I entered your email address so you will be informed when it does come in.
Scott from USAI have a Ruger Air Hawk, which is a 11mm dovetail mount, will this scope fit without any additional accessories?
asked PaulNo, these rings that come with it are 3/8" or Weaver rings. You can buy a $10 set of 11mm rings and stick them on the scope though, then it will work on the Air Hawk.
Conor from USAWill it fit and mount on a Crosman Storm XT? I need an upgrade from my 4x32 centerpont?
asked williamjust use the old rings off the 4x32 scope
Richard from USAAs is? No. You can buy 11mm $10 set of mounts to put on the scope, and then it'll work.
Conor from USAWill this scope fit on a crosman fury?
asked BobThe scope will fit just about anything. Its only that the rings are weaver style (which are better for airguns IMO) so they will not fit the dovetail grooves. You need an adapter. Dovetail to weaver/picatinny. Not a big deal. Not expensive and SO MUCH BETTER!!! Great scope, by the way. My favorite for airguns, especially high powered ones. I have several of these, some are over two years old on air rifles and they are still dead on!!!
gabeNo. This has Weaver mounts and you need 11mm dovetail mounts. You can buy some 11mm mounts here at AGD for at Walmart or something for like $10 though, and then it will work.
Conor from USAHas anyone used this scope on a Sheridan Blue streak? Any advice? I've never put a scope on a pump air rifle.
asked Stevehttps://www.airgundepot.com/air-venturi-intermount-benjamin-sheridan-multi-pump-rifles.html You will need that mount in order to stick ANY scope on the Blue Streak. And then if you get that, this will work on there, but might be a little big for that gun. A smaller 3-9x40 would work better on that particular gun.
Conor from USAI have a Ruger Air Hawk. I intend to install a Leaper 11mm Dovetail to Weaver Adapter. Will the Centerpoint 4-16x40 Scope clear the barrel with this setup? Thanks in advance.
asked J.P. from USAYes, you shouldn't have an issue with that setup.
Scott from USAAfter owning this scope for 7 months and approximately 800 to 900 shots I am no longer impressed with this scope as I was initially. The elevation turret completely "froze" and can no longer be adjusted. At first, the turrets were stiff but begin to loosen up with use....then total failure! Has anyone else out there had this problem?
asked gabriel from USAYes, I have had this problem. I just man handled the heck out of them and they freed up and the problem went away. After that, I have not experienced this problem again.
GibbyWill this fit my Ruger Blackhawk .177 air rifle or would I have to purchase a mount?
asked Jesus from USAIt should work for that rifle just fine, though it does come with weaver rings so you would want to get new ones.
Steve from USAI have a Gamo 1250 Big Cat, will this scope mount directly with supplied rings or do I need to purchase other hardware?
asked DonYou will need to purchase some scope mounts along with this gun if you do not currently have any. I would recommend either medium or high rings. Also, make sure you get the right rings for you gun. Dovetail(smooth) or weaver(rigid)
Scott from USAWill this scope fit a Gamo shadow?
asked MikeSure, it would fit fine.
Steve from USAwill this scope fit on my gammo hornet
asked EricYes.
Steve from USABecause this scope is open box, is it damaged/not at its fullest reliability?
asked Connor from USAall open box items are checked and tested by the manufacturer to be in working condition, manufacturer defects and errors are still covered by the 30 day return policy.
Steve from USAWill this scope mount to a Gamo Hornet .177? Please reply, I look forward to purchasing it.
asked SheldonYes if the Hornet has weaver mounts....if not, you'll have to get some 11mm high profile rings.
ConorIt says "medium profile" weaver rings. Is there 5/8" or more clear viewing height from the mount bottom to its top without the scope interfearing in the view? There are (minimal lighting) times I would still like to have the use of my iron sights...
asked ernest from USAYeah, if the scope hits the receiver, get some "high profile" rings.
Conordoes a mount come with this scope
asked Cameron from USAYes, 1 set of weaver rings come with the scope.
ConorTwo piece rings come with this scope...luckly I converted my dovetail to weaver before I purchased the scope..may want to add how it mounts in future adds to make buyer aware...im very happy with the scope though, thank you
Donovan keysWill this scope mount to a Benjamin Discovery Dual Fuel Air Rifle .22 PCP?
asked Gary Congeryes if you but a dovetail to weaver intermount of use dovetail rings
Richard from USAIf the Disco has 11mm dovetails, you'll need to get 11mm rings.
Conor
Put it on my Titan .22...two months still holding zero...had to use a modified RWS UTG high elevation mount because of sever barrel droop but I'm very happy with this combo now...shacky Sam hits his bullseye now
Pros
The pleasure of use...no turret caps to mess with...good mill dots when needed...like it's clear view.
Cons
None really but the OA values are slightly offset...I need to find out how to tune/adjust it.
