its is worth investing
November 11, 2014
It is an adult air rifle, so even though it is lighter, but it takes effort to cock it. It is still too difficult for my wife to operate it except for the shooting part. The gun has a good feel to it. It looks nice, and it can bark pretty loud when using non lead Blue Flame PBA pellet. The scope that it came with is junk in my opinion, so I mounted a red dot for short distance shooting. It shoot pretty accurate.
Pros:
It is light. It is loud if you like it loud using non lead pellet. It looks good like a tactical weapon. It shoots true for the price. The trigger is good, and the pistol grip is comfortable.
Cons:
not lube well, and a little rust by the barrel, but easily removed. No Iron sights.

Very accurate with included scope. I use Crossman Super Magnum pellets. They are 10.5 grains which allows the rifle to shoot sub-sonic. This also helps quiet down the rifle to a point where it can be used for back yard pest control.
Pros:
Accuracy, good value, easy to cock, quiet with heavier lead pellets.
Cons:
Does not come with iron sight option.

TR-77 Excellent
April 22, 2014
Got this air rifle for Xmas and couldn't be happier. Just about as consistent as the day is long (with good ammo). The accuracy of this rifle at reasonable ranges is only limited by the user's skill in zeroing the scope. Scope that comes with is is effective, not necessarily the best scope I've seen; but it works, holds a zero, the eye relief isn't too long.
Pros:
Lightweight, consistent, comfortable
Cons:
Nothing really, i just wish i had gotten the Nitro Piston.

cool gun

I got the nitro piston version at Walmart as an impulse purchase, after having purchased & returned multiple other air rifles in similar price range at other sporting goods stores. Since I often come to Airgun Depot to read reviews & drool at pics, I thought I'd post a review for this gun. This thing is sweet, (I'm satisfied with my impulse purchase) and excellent for taking out the football sized rats that inhabit my alley, and could get inside the home (which has lots of little holes, being an old house.) It's perfect for plinking, and isn't loud at all; sounds like a staple, or nail gun. I found it to be quieter than a Gamo whisper, and it shouldn't freak out close dwelling neighbors, sound-wise. If you walk outside with it, (not recommended) then all hell will break loose. This thing looks like a serious tactical weapon to the avg citizen, especially if you pimp it out with lights & lasers. If you store things in the butt, expect them to rattle, (not very clandestine/tactical) and it will make your rifle heavier than it already is. It will also throw off the weight proportion I personally get used to after a while. Mine is a short range tactical rifle (695 fps, .177 cal) do I really need a scope that has stronger magnification, or is more precise, than the one that comes with it? Not really. If you must replace it, I'd recommend a dot sight. This rifle is made to be pimped out with lights & lasers and stuff, it even has grooves to stick pressure switches. I wouldn't recommend a vertical grip, unless you find that stretching your arms out at full length is comfortable. A bipod is fun though, and great for when you're centering the scope. Light grain pellets are good, those Gamo raptor pellets are great. Get the Crosman silicone chamber oil to make this baby operate nice & smoothly.
Pros:
Looks are super cool, feels boss in your hands, very quality craftsmanship for the price, hits the spot if you don't want to spend an arm & leg on a tactical air rifle that does the job. Can be pimped out easily. Significantly quieter then I expected, though I have a nitro piston version, and this might have something to do with it. I feel as if my money was well spent on a quality air rifle, and surprisingly I don't want any other model. I looked at the Gamo socom, more expensive Hatsans, and used to own a whisper, but this is everything I wanted out of those, and at a better price.
Cons:
the storage in the butt is dumb. The plastic hand guard could be flimsy by some people's standards, but I'm not going to be in a situation where I need to put its durability to the test, so who cares; the working parts work great. A magazine or rotating clip would be nice. Reloading single shot break barrel air rifles takes a few seconds, making it about as useful in a real tactical situation as a colonial age musket. I'm sure some budget air rifle "connoisseur" would want more from the trigger, but it's not a match rifle, you're not paying for a match rifle, so don't expect match quality precision from the trigger.
