good "starter" gun

Shoots normal 7.9 grain lead pellets in the low 900's FPS. Don't listen to the 1250 FPS hype. You can only get close to 1250 FPS with PBA pellets, which is just as bad for the gun as dry firing.
Pros:Great value for $129, decent power.Cons:I would have liked gamo to have made the gun more powerful with lead pellets. the recoil rivals a 410 shotgun. its loud, if your hunting. . .you get 1 shot. the scope/mounts are junk. if you decide to keep the scope/mounts, make sure its zeroed every other day, or else youll have a different POI. |

My daughters first pellet gun is a GREAT one

The gun is easily worth what I paid for it. My daughter had a pump BB gun and I got her this for her birthday. She is having a ball. We have shot only targets thus far but will be hunting with it eventually. It is plenty accurate and is easily shot by my 13 year old daughter. I would recommend this gun to anyone that is serious about shooting WITH their kids or to an adult just wanting to play around.

Just got this gun the other day and it's great. It was very easy to sight in and has lots of power. Accurate enough to shoot squirrels 90 feet up in a tree and powerful enough to drop it in one shot. The Platinum bullets work great with this gun and significantly increase speed and power.
Pros:Very powerful, accurate, and well balanced.Cons:Needs a 3-9X32 scope for greater accuracy. |

I have now had this gun for a year now and I have put about 8,000 rounds through it. It is awesome, and it still shoots about the same speed. It has better accuracy because the amount I've shot it, and it isn't wearing down at all. I've shot tons of things with it from sparrows and chipmunks to squirrels and crows. The only problems with the gun were due to personal error. My housing at the back of the barrel broke because I didn't screw in the scope mounts to the gun and the recoil sent the scope back into the plastic housing which broke it. If your looking for an awesome gun but don't want to pay much, definitely buy this gun.
Pros:Great power, speed, and durability.Cons:Get a new scope for the gun the 4x32 power isn't very good. Get one that goes to at least 6x32. I personally bought the BSA 3-9x32 scope and would recommend it to anybody. |

Fantastic air rifle,ample power,easy cocking,accurate,all wrapped in a package weighing just a tad over 2.75kg.Outstanding.
My only recommendation for any future buyers is,as with all modern springer's,that power comes with a very healthy recoil,I'll definitely consider a Nitro for the future,I considered buying a .22 nitro soon after this purchase but the international shipping costs & service provider inexplicable changed,no USPS.The more than twice increase in shipping charges put a dampener on that plan.
Also the 50 supplied PBA pellets are not recommended for backyard use due to the fact they go supersonic every-time,"Loud".
Scope was easy to sight in.Unlike many who found the scope insufficient,my partner & I find it ample for our plinking needs.

I needed a gun strong enough for squirrels,because they had clear cut all around me and drove all of them onto our 1 1/2 acres and they where eating my tomatoes up---well this does the job---most of the time with 1 shot--break down 1 time put in a pellet and ready to fire--I am 65 years old and I can break it down easy--you want be sorry with this gun

My husband and I both loved this rifle. It shoots with amazing accuracy, thanks to the great quality and good scope. I always have trouble with smaller sized scopes because of my vision, but this one is larger and works great. You can see clear as day. It works great with the platinum ammo that comes with it. Makes any other type of ammo seem like a joke.

Gamo Big Cat 1250 Much, Much More Than Expected!

This is definitely a must-have for the prepper! You can't find a better small game rifle for the money that costs so little to use! I have my hunting rifles, shotguns and handguns - but this air gun is the best deal for the money. I spent 15 minutes and seven rounds of .177 cal pellets to sight in the scope than comes with it at 40 yards, to DEAD CENTER! Had my yard been wider, I'd have gone for more. It does have recoil and it's a bit loud, but that's how a spring powered break barrel comes. I'll have to keep an eye on the sight, but that's not a biggie - it's part of the fun! Kudos to AirgunDepot for the speed and ease of this purchase and kudos to Gamo for an excellent product!

After reading reviews on many air rifles I was concerned that some said "cracks like a 22". I bought this for target shooting in the back yard and sound would be an issue. There is no way this is even close to any conventional firearm. I am pleased with the accuracy, sound and price of this rifle.

I think the gun is a good value for the money. Had no trouble sighting it in and everything works as it should.. I only gave it 4 stars because of the trigger. It really limits the degree of accuracy because of it's stiffness. I read the reviews and knew this when I bought it however.

It's an extremely powerful gun to use if hunting or just wanting to shoot cans. But over all it is an amazing gun. Also when using raptor pellets it becomes extremely loud
And very deadly

This gun is amazing enough said. the only thing i had a problem with is the loudness of the first 40-50 shots because the oil is all nice and good, but the sound eventually gets lower but is still very loud.

First of all make sure it's not loaded for obvious safety reasons. Second turn the rifle upside down till the trigger is facing you. You then loosen the two screws that allow access to the trigger. Finally there's a small phillups screw behind the trigger, turn it clockwise to de-crease the length and counter-clockwise to increase the length of the triggwer action.
