CFX .22

Great air rifle with good balance, power, and accuracy. I prefer the CFX because it has a steel rifled barrel, not the plastic jacket metal tube like the other Gamo. I like the CFX so much, I bought both the .177 and .22 caliber versions. For hunting, this rifle may be a little slow or cumbersome to load the pellets. However, this rifle is pretty safe to operate for a fixed barrel gun.

I go it in the afternoon. Next day I went to the shooting range to zero in. Gee whiz... first shot at 10 yards was dead on. RWS superdome or RWS superpoint extra gave me 3shots-one hole and dead on at 10 and 20 yards. One of the best rifles I own.

Just got it. It is raining so I tested it in the garage. Only 25 Feet. It wasn't very far off with the scope that came with it. Changed scopes and sighted it in. Put up new target (a paper plate with a 1/4" dot on it. Hit that dot and was amazed that it is so accurate. Shot four more tmes, They all went in the same hole!!!!! What more can I say. I have ordered a GDT111 triger for it. That was the only thing that could be improved.

VERY IMPRESSED WITH THE CFX .22 CAL. AIR RIFLE. TARGET PRACTICE PACKING THREE TO FOUR PELLETS IN THE SAME HOLE. ONE SHOT KILLS MAKES A GUY FEEL GREAT. TOSS THE SCOPE AND PUT A REAL SCOPE ON AND YOU ARE READY. I COULD TELL BEFORE I ORDERED IT. THIS WAY YOU CAN PUT WHAT YOU WANT ON IT.

Great Gun
December 13, 2009

I gave this gun 4 stars only because of the scope. At 20 feet, with the elevation maxed out I was still hitting the ground. Frustrated, I finally noticed the scope itself is bent in the middle... So it will be replaced soon - will try to call Gamo and see what they say.
Otherwise, this is an awesome gun. At 100 feet, I get good clusters with all the pellets I tried so far. And 14.5 grain RWS super points (at 100 feet as well) embed themselves fully into a 2x4 of pine, and made a really good dent in some oak strips I had.
My dad was impressed with the gun as well, as he thought it was, "just a BB gun." He's a retired police officer, and has shot everything under the sun -- even maintains a machine gun license. His only qualm was the trigger -- even after I shortened the pull length, he still wasn't satisfied. "You have to pull it too far, and it's too sensitive." I didn't think it was that big of a deal, and was still able to pull off hitting a bottle cap at 100 feet.
I can't wait to knock off some squirrels and rabbits now, haha.

Best .22 for the price

This is an incredible rifle for the price. I prefer fixed barrel guns over break barrel because they tend to be more accurate and durable. Usually I have to pay a premium for it, but this CFX .22 cal from Gamo is very well priced. The trigger is a bit stiffer than more expensive guns, but the build quality is there and the lifetime warranty is nice also. There is no reason to keep looking-- you won't find a better gun under $200 period!
