Unsure, but slightly disappointed
March 19, 2013
I bought this mount because my GAMO Varmint Hunter Stalker came with a two-piece mount. The rear mount's recoil pin actually grooved out part of the recoil pin receiver and completely popped off of the rail. I bought this piece thinking it would grip the rails more and allow for less movement. Within the first 100 shots, this mount seemed to be moving. While it stayed attached to the rail, the recoil pin grooved the barrel even more and the recoil pin actually bent. I know I had all of my screws to the proper tightness, everything was fastened as it should be, and my gun seemed to fire fine. I'm not entirely sure anything is faulty in the mounts. I've read many similar reviews of scope mount problems coming from other Spring Piston rifles. Perhaps it's just too much vibration in the gun. Also, it seems dovetail rails leave little for the mount to actually grip.
Pros:I like the length of a one piece mount. Having a long solid piece attached to a dovetail mount seems a lot more promising of security than a two piece mount, even though I still had problems with the gun.
Cons:The recoil pin dug into my barrel, causing a big burr to be pushed up on top of the barrel of the gun. I'm sure the pin was just a harder metal than what GAMO is using in their rails; because I surely can't figure out why it'd chew the recoil pin receiver so much.
I would recommend this item to a friend.
Better Scope Mount
December 31, 2011
I had issues with my Scope mountings. gamo gave different mountings. the two piece mount kit after tightening down. quite well , the scope slid off the rifle. after twenty or third shots were fired. so I installed the one piece scope mount that. came in the same box, hopefully it will stay put. ( varmint hunter hp 22 cal). With higher recoil
Pros:better mount for higher recoil rifle
Cons:the allen wrench dont fit well enough
1 piece Gamo Scope mount

Mount is well made for the price. Vertical scope stop, rail screws and four screw rings held mount and scope in place on my Beeman R10 springer. Other mounts even with locktite allowed scope and mounts to slide.
Nice Scope Mount
December 14, 2007
Mounted this to a RWS 34. Good fit and nice, clean profile. Be sure to insert allen wrench all the way into the screw heads - the metal used to make the wrench is stronger than the metal used to make the screws. I was working too fast, didn't have the wrench seated entirely and buggered one of the screw heads.
