Save your money buy a different brand

I bought this rifle from Cabelas. It worked great for a few months and then the scope fell completely off. Also a mounting bolt on the rear of the mount broke. The only way you can remount the scope is with the plate on the side with 3 screws. The groves on the barrel are not enough to hold the scope, so it continues to fall off. Contacted Gamo and they want to sell me a new scope and rings or charge $50 to repair. This was after they admitted the installed the scope was wrong to begin with. I will by another rifle but it won't be a Gamo. This one turned out to be junk.
Pros:The looks.Cons:Cheap parts that were not put together properly. Made in Spain. |

accuracy problems?
March 30, 2010
![]()
Anybody who is having accuracy problems try taking the top ring off and check to see if there is any tape on the rings. gamo sometimes puts the tape on the rings to compansate for barrel droop. If you do have tape on the rings go too a local gun shop they might have some rings that would work. or you could just buy a new scope.hope this helps.

Great gun

Great gun, junk scope, put a new tasco on the gun and its great. The factory scope takes away from the gun. Had problems grouping until I put the new scope on. But for the money its a great deal. I would buy this gun again, and recommend it . You dont have to spend a lot on a scope to improve the gun.

Opened the box, attached the scope. Walked outside and took 3 shots at some bricks and then noticed a squirrel climbing on a tree about 30 yards out. I said what do i have to lose, centered him in my scope and took a shot. A direct hit and i haven't even zeroed the scope yet. I was using the gamo match pellet, not even meant for hunting, and it showed him who's boss. What a great gun!!! Dont question it, Just buy it!!

Terrible Accuracy
August 8, 2007
![]()
I bought this rifle the other day and after two days of serious inconsistant shot grps, I had to bring it back for a refund. It would shoot very tight grps, then the next 4-5 shots would be out there around Pluto somewhere.
Im a Military vet and grew up hunting deer so I know how to shoot. THis Air Rifle was my experience with a break-barrel style gun and I hated it...Gonna try a Crosman next time.

Easy to cock
I've had it for a little over a week, still haven't had a chance to take it out where I can get a better feel for how accurate it is over 200'
At 60' it shoots 1/2 inch groups. After about 8 shots it beomes one hole a little smaller than a dime.
Birds turn into 'clouds of feathers' at 60 yards. It packs three times the wallup of my old Crossman 660, with a much tighter pattern.
Extremely well made.
The scope is a BSA 3-9/32. Very bright. I can't seem to get it to focus sharp at 9 power under 200 feet. I don't see the sense of an 'arigun' scope (which it is) have a minimum 'infinity' focus of 100 yards!!!! I have to drop the mag to 7x for the image to get really crisp.
I have a garden and this is to contol rodents and pests between 20 and 70 yards.
I got the gun on sale for $100. (brand new and not refurbed)
INCRIDIBLE VALUE
It shoots very hard,...
It shoots very straight (tiny, consistant patterns)
I strongly recommend it!

Pros:
-Great look
-Great feel
-Great scope
-Light
-Easy to cock
-Doesn't jam, or hasn't jammed.. (knock on wood)
-Accurate as heck
-Perfect small game hunting rifle
-Has the kick of a 22
-Automatic safety
Cons
-LOUD.. not good for in city shooting
-One shot, so if you miss, that's it
.. that's it..
Overall
This gun is beastly. It's not as strong as the hunter, but it wasn't made to be. It's still just as fun to shoot, and it's great for pest control/small game hunting. Have fun and be safe
