Very powerful and accurate rifle. Worth more than the price even if you throw away the Gamo scope which you may end up doing. My scope has lost its zero a couple of times, if I have to sight it in again soon I'll replace it. As long as the scope holds true, the rifle is consistently hits sparrow-size targets out as far as I can aim it. The population of nuisance birds is way down and the songbird nests are much safer since I bought this rifle.

Pros
Price, power, accuracy, adjustable trigger, quiet (no spring rattling), will stay cocked & locked without damaging it.

Cons
Scope does not seem to be as reliable as the rifle.

my buddy has this air gun and we put a center point scope on it and was dialing the scope in at about 15 yards and then shot a target about 50 yards away and the bullet only dropped 1 mil and then I seen a bird 60 yards away put the first mil on the head and lets say theres one dead bird

Pros
great accuracy easy to use good knock down power for the critters cheap to shoot .177 ammo

Cons
nothing bad to say at this time

Is this a spiral bore?

asked Edward Clement

is the gun really worth the price listed and how far can it shoot and still be deadly

asked steven from USA

Can it kill a rabbit? If not, what can it kill?

asked William from

If your aim is true, this rifle will easily harvest your rabbit. There is plenty of power to take larger game if your shot is well placed. The adjustable trigger makes accurate shots possible. Shot placement is consistent. If you do your target practice first, you will be able to bring in all the rabbit and squirrel you want.

Tom

Haven't tried it on game yet - I got this rifle for killing rattlesnakes. With the hollow point pellets, the pellet will penetrate through 2 water bottles if that's helpful for indication of power. My gut says 'yes' it will kill a rabbit but, again, no direct experience.

Tom

how does it work do you just load and shoot no (Co2)

asked David

It does not use Co2.

Scott from USA

Is this gun loud?

asked Kaleb from USA

this gun is mild on loudness. if deffinetly makes a distict pop when you fire it, but the scope works great and the gun gun itself shoots great. this is the gun i am most pleased with from the 3 i bought.

william from USA

No it is not loud at all would be a good backyard gun in the city would not be heard by anyone that was not right next to you

I just placed an order and am interested in a Gamo gas piston .177 air rifles. I like the gamo camo rocket .177 with igt gas piston. In your opinon for the same price or about the same, is there another Gamo .177 gas piston available that is quieter? We live in housing tract with neighbors very close and want a gas piston gamo with the least amount of noise. With this model in mind, in your opinion what would be the best pellet type weight wise to use for squirrels but with the least amount of noise to match up with this gamo gas piston air rifle?

asked Tony

Try a crosman Nitro Piston rifle. They are extremely quiet, and easy to cock. I have the Crosman Nitro Venom Dusk .22 and it just works GREAT. (the nitro venom dusk is also available in .177 if you want) -Stan

Stanley Zheng

This is about as quiet as you'll find in the Gamo brands. Try the Crosman Premier Pointed, Crosman Premier Hollowpoint (CPHP), or the Crosman Destroyers. You might also try the Predator Polymag pellets, though they are a little spendy, and not for you everyday plinking. They work really good on the squirrels though.

Conor from USA

Can you put a bipod on this rifle? If so, what is a good suggestion for a bipod to get? Also, does this air rifle need to be filled with gas after a certain amount of shots? What is a SAT trigger? Thank you so much for helping me out!

asked Mike

You shouldn't use a bipod on a break barrel, there's just too much recoil for it. No, when you break the barrel and pull it back , you set the gas ram spring back, when you pull the trigger the gas ram fires forward and propels the pellet. The SAT trigger is gamo's nicer newer trigger. It's a step up from the old horrid triggers they put on older guns, but sits right behind a Quattro trigger, so it's pretty good .

I want to get a new 1 piece scope rings with this gun, when I buy it. Does anybody know if the scope is 1" or 33 mm?

asked James Givens, Jr.

1 inch but the scope is junk

john harriott

The scope is a 1" tube.

Conor from USA

Is this a good buy? Will it last long?

asked john

Being that it is a Nitro Piston gun, the longevity of it should be quite awhile. The bang-for-buck is pretty good, the gun shoots smoothly, cocks quiet and even, and delivers quite a punch for $190.

Conor from USA

The gun for the money is, I'd say a good deal, but how long it lasts is up to you. This gun that has a gas spring (nitro piston), can last ......(well, they haven't been around long enough to know how long they last). But way longer than a regular steel spring.

Conor from USA

How does this stand against a Gamo Silent Stalker IGT? Which is better when comparing the power, accuracy and the loudness?

asked Jaffar

The Rocket is 1 pound lighter and is more accurate-no huge variation of power and I don't know about the noise factor but gas pistons are quieter then springs..oh and the Rocket is about $50 more. I'm in the market for a new pellet gun as well and I narrowed my choices down to these exact 2 guns. I think I'm going to choose the Rocket. It has all the features I want: light(er),IGT power, accuracy, etc. Anyway, good luck and I hope I was of some help.

danielson

on a scale of one to ten, ten being the best what would you rate this gun, and is there any thing you would change about it if your could

asked forrest

I tend to rank all gamo guns between 7-8. (RWS brand would be 8-10) The gamo guns are all fairly similar in durability. power obviously changes from model to model, The rocket is a nice powerful gun though.

Scott from USA

Hi, I am new to air guns. When I was a kid I had a Crosman 760 pump gun, my older brother a daisy. Now a days we hunt with Remingtons. I also have a son that is reaching that age of learning the art of shooting and the wonderful tradition of hunting. I would like to know your experiences GOOD and BAD with this rifle. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you so much, Stu

asked Stuart from USA

Can't say I have used this exact gun but so far, I have never had any problems using gamo rifles. They are all fairly similar in quality, they are durable, accurate if taken care of, and they don't kick so much that they break scopes. I love gamo guns personally.

Scott from USA

Um yes I would like to know when your using the lead free pellets does the sound get louder or stay the same as when your using lead pellets

asked kyzer

Most guns are louder when using lead free pellets.
