Solid rifle, silent and deadly.
November 10, 2013
Made of a solid construction. Fine smooth finish on the synthetic stock. Good weight and feel. The rifle is longer than typical .177 rifles and the silencer is a very cool feature likely to impress your mates. Shoots accurately however the scope could be better.
Pros:
* Very accurate and hits hard at 1200 fps+
Cons:
* Improve the scope. * Trigger could also be better.

Great air rifle for the price
June 22, 2013
Very powerful. True 1260 fps. Actually was clocked at 1270 through chronometer. Iron sights are fairly accurate. Included scope is absolute garbage. Don't bother even mounting it on the rifle. As previous reviews state, get yourself a better scope right off the bat. Once you get yourself a scope, this is a tack driver for plinking in the back yard! My son loves it!
Pros:
Very consistent shooter, with a decent scope.
Cons:
The scope is pointless that is included with the rifle.

Well worth the money
May 2, 2013
This air rifle is very accurate, easy to cock, and one thing I have noticed as a retired machinist, this is the only air rifle I own that the loading breach has a moderate I,D. chamber, also known as a bevel, which makes loading the .177 pellets a lot easier. The rifle has a good feel too and is not too heavy to be carrying in the woods all day.
Pros:
accurate, easy too cock and well made
Cons:
could use a better scope

Great Gun and Super Value!
March 27, 2013
My Refurnished Whisper/Silent Cat arrived promptly in perfect condition. It even had that 'new gun' smell! Shipping was quick and affordable. Customer service was accessible and user friendly. Thanks! The 'Cat' is an excellent choice for competition grade target shooting, plinking, small game hunting and/or varmint termination. At 1,250 pfs (with quality pellets) it rivals my 22 rimfire. Even though it is powerful, it is also easy to cock. The silencer works well, but because the spring is consequential it is not totally silent. Recoil is comfortable and allows tight groupings. Some have complained about the trigger pull, I find it just fine. With any gun, instead of jerking the trigger with your fingertip, insert your trigger finger all the way through the guard, preload, and gently squeeze as you exhale. If you are better than I, do this between heartbeats. : ) Aigun Depot is a great place to buy, and my Gamo is a true value. Earl Michael
Pros:
Super Accuracy Powerful Reliable Easy to Cock because of the long break barrel design. To avoid damage, grip behind the silencer when cocking.
Cons:
While the scope is 'fair' it doesn't do the rifle justice. I replaced mine with a Gamo 3-9 x 40 mm with parallax adjustment. (Photo included) It was the least I could do for my new 'Phelix.' : )

Nice air rifle, but...
July 6, 2012
I've had this gun for about 6 months. I upgraded the trigger (as another user reported above) which really helped. This gun shot very accurately until this week, and I attribute it to the stock scope. I think it's done for (after about 1500 rounds down range). I've tried on 2 occasions to tune it back in, but I can't get the elevation within 10" at 20 yards. The windage is dead on. Prior to this week, I was shooting half inch groups at this distance. 4 stars for the gun, 0 for the scope. I'm off to purchase a new scope.
Pros:
Light weight. Comfortable grip.
Cons:
The "silencer" at the end of the barrel sits up so high that it enters the field of view of the scope. Not sure the designers put much thought into this.

Very satisfied ... I love this gun!
November 25, 2011
Very satisfied with this purchase great value, especially comparing to the academy sports price down the road which had the gun for $100 more. Actually, had the gun just over a a year now and absolutely love it. I've replaced scope with one of much better quality and replaced trigger with one from Charlie Da Tuna (http://charliedatuna.com/GRT-III%20Trigger%20New.htm) which I believe was an improvement. I also shoot Barracuda Match heavy lead pellets. Once calibrated the gun is very, very consistent and accurate. 50-yards in is a very easy shot on a small target and leaves a tight grouping. It can hit a coke can repeatedly from 75-yards with practice and larger objects, the size of a small mammal from 100-yards. 120 yards is about the max. The gun is very quiet and powerful, especially with lead pellets that don't break the sound barrier. Name describes it well, "silent cat", is a good description
Pros:
Accuracy, Very Quiet, powerful, quality
Cons:
scope is of low quality but gun is a very good value for the price

Not So Silent
August 6, 2011
The positives are a powerful and well made gun. However the negative is, it was as loud as a firecracker next to my ear. It was far from being a silent cat...

Satisfied
December 9, 2010
I have been completely satisfied with this unit and how it performed. I already had a remington .177 but bought this unit because it was somewhat quieter... Neighbors didn't like me shooting the squirrels out of my pecan trees....
