The Gamo Silent Stalker will serve you well for years to come. The IGT (Inert Gas Technology) gas piston replaces the metal mainspring usually found in spring-piston air rifles. A gas spring is better than a metal spring because it requires no maintenance! Whether you hunt small game or just shoot garden pests off your porch, the Gamo Silent Stalker is perfect for the job. We predict it'll become your go-to gun whenever you need to dispatch a pest or hunt quarry.

The Silent Stalker IGT is a very nice air gun. A great value.
May 27, 2014
Solid and consistently and extremely accurate round, after round. Powerful enough for just about every varmint and small game. Have killed squirrels and rabbits as well as many other small game with this gun. Scope that came with the gun is not great and we replaced it soon after we purchased the gun. The recoil on the gun requires the scope to be mounted on a one piece scope mount in order to keep the scope from sliding within the rings.
Powerful and accurate. Solid and comfortable

Silent Stalker .177 IGT
October 5, 2013
After mounting the scope that came with the rifle the first shot was 4" high at 1 o'clock. After the scope was adjusted the second shot was 2" high. The third time the scope was adjusted I was consistently inside 1" circle at 15 yards. I am shooting GAMO Rocket Ammo. I think this is a great rifle at a great price. This is my first air rifle and after looking at many rifles on line I'm glad I bought the Silent Stalker IGT. If you are looking for a first rifle I don't think you can go wrong with this rifle. A lot of people talk about the scope not being any good but mount the scope and find out for yourself. It is more than adequate. You can always spend more money for a new scope if you want.
Nice shooting rifle that is relatively light weight. The rifle shoots great right out of the box. The price was also attractive for a first air rifle.
This rifle would be 5 stars but the scope I received with the rifle was not new. After I removed the caps to adjust the scope you could clearly see that a screwdriver had been used to adjust the scope in the past.

Worth the money
April 26, 2013
This gun takes a bit of getting used to but once you get the hang of it its deadly accurate. Don't let the word 'silent' in its name fool you, this thing sounds like a 22 long. After you open the box, toss the scope in the trash. Do not bother yourself with trying to sight in that scope. I put a 3-9x40 from NC star on there and getting 1 inch groups at 30 yards. It is also nice and light so you wont' get tired carrying it.

5 stars for the gun, 3 stars after deducting for the scope
April 1, 2013
This gun has plenty of power for my squirrel problem. However, I cannot keep the scope sighted in. The windage moves with every shot. I'm going to throw away the scope and try a different brand. I wish it had iron sights but so few of the modern airguns do.
Powerful enough for pest control Quiet enough that it won't concern the neighbors

Powerful but not quiet
March 5, 2013
I based my purchase on reviews that said this is a quiet air gun. It is not quiet, it is as loud as my .22. It is powerful and fun to shoot but I am very disappointed in the noise level.
Too loud to use to shoot squirels in town.

Great air rifle
February 28, 2013
This air rifle is very nice. I love the synthetic stock. The wood stock on my other rifles are nice but it makes the gun heavy and it's not fun carrying it through the woods when hunting small game. The gamo is fairly quiet and packs a punch. I recommend replacing the stock gamo scope and upgrading to a nice scope - this will take your frustration away. I wasn't able to hit anything pass 30 yards until I upgraded the scope and now the gun shoots extremely accurate. We were hitting clay pigeons 60-75 yards away with pin point accuracy. The price of 145.99 is pretty hard to pass up so it was definitely a great buy.
Very strong Accurate It's a gamo
Stock scope isn't the best, but will do the job under 25 yards.

solid gun!!!
February 22, 2013
I just got this pellet rifle in the mail a couple days ago and I have to say, wow. What a solid, powerful, and accurate pellet rifle. I took it out to the range and put at least 300 rounds through it. It took me less than 5 minutes to sight in this rifle with the scope that came with it. I am not sure why everyone says that the factory gamo scope and mounts are junk. I tightened it all down and I was tearing apart the bulls eyes in the targets at 50 yards. At first, I was really skeptical about getting a pellet rifle, period. However, this gamo rifle is a great inexpensive rifle that is powerful and very accurate. I will be looking to get more into this and spend some real money on pellet rifles. I know my review may be premature in the sense that I have only had it for a few days. I will defiantly put it to good use this summer and report back. As for the cons on this rifle, the barrel looks pretty hoakey. Gamo didn't take the time to do any fine touches I guess. I had to take some 600 grit sand paper and smooth all the molding lines in the plastic out. I know it would have been more weight but a full metal barrel would be nice and probably better accuracy. That is really all I have found so far that I don't like.
Accuracy Weight Scope Trigger Stock (plain but comfortable)
Plastic coating around the barrel Needs a real steel barrel

Gamo SS IGT .17
February 14, 2013
Ordered one of these from AGD on the Daily Special. Rifle was in like new condition when it arrived. I gave it a ho-hum greeting. Installed a CP4x16AO that I rec'd from AGD. It is light (I like light), and looks decent but not a "bragging looks" rifle. I grabbed some pellets and went shooting. HOLY CRAP!! This thing is wicked and very accurate. The horrible trigger I have read so much about was screwed all the way down and it was not that bad at all. Actually, better than the Crosman triggers, in my opinion. I shot at 15 and 25 yards. The RWS Supermag WC, Skenco Ultrashock HP, and the AA Field Heavy were all one ragged hole. If I used a pellet less than 8 grs, the groups opened up. It doesn't shoot pellets in the 7 gr range worth talking about. It's a powerful air rifle and heavy pellets are its thing.
Lightweight Rugged looking Accurate IGT!!!!
Notice that I did not shoot it with the scope it came with. I knew better than that through lots of experience ordering and shooting airguns. Gonna put that on a CO2 rifle. Order one of those OPEN BOX Centerpoint 4X16AO scopes from AGD. I have 3 of those. Heck of a deal!!!!

Great gun
February 12, 2013
I got this gun around Christmas time and it has worked great! Once you get the scope sighted in, you can get 5 rounds in an inch group. Very accurate and powerful. It is good for small game hunting. Definitely recommend.

gamo silent stalker igt
February 8, 2013
I bought the gamo silent stalker in January. Shot about 400 pellets through it. I tested six types of pellets and used 3 different scopes. I wasted 5 days on this gun. At no time did this gun ever group 5 shots inside of a orange or a grape fruit. I sent the gun back to Airgun Depot. They exchanged the gun for a Hatan model 95. The 95 is a pretty gun with a walnut stock. Plenty of power, accuracy, and not much louder. Right out of the box, the gun shot a 10 round group inside of a nickle at 12 yards. The 95 is heavy. For the money, the 95 is a way better gun.
Fairly quiet
Inaccurate and that is what it's about

Just what I needed!
January 20, 2013
I was looking for an air rifle that I could shoot crows, squirrels, and starlings with in the off season. This air rifle is just what I needed. It's week built, accurate, and powerful! I never mounted the Gamo scope it came with, as the reviews warned against it. I mounted a Burris 4-12x scope and shoot Gamo's Red Fire hunting ammo and the results have been great. The accuracy of this gun depends on the shooter. You don't shoot these guns like normal rifles. Once you figure out the "artillery" hold it's deadly accurate at 50 yds. It's not as loud as people say. I took my 22 and this Gamo to sight both in and it's not nearly as loud as the 22. There are quieter more expensive air rifles, but this one doesn't bother my neighbors and didn't push any ducks that were on the water when I sighted it in.
Sale price Powerful Accurate Cheap and fun to shoot
Wish the trigger was a little crisper and metal. Scope is junk.

began with trouble but ended with success
January 13, 2013
I had received this gun as a Christmas present and couldn't wait to get it sighted in so I could try some squirrel hunting with it. I shot the included pba platinum pellets and they shot okay. I had some Crosman premiers that I was sure would do better. To my surprise the gun shot a terrible 5-6 inch pattern at only about 30 yards. I changed from the Gamo scope to an old Tasco 3-9x 32mm with little improvement. This ticked me off to the point that I was about to send the gun back. However, I then thought I would try some other pellets first before I made that decision. I bought the Benjamin discovery hunting pellet variety pack, and finally had success with the domed pellets. It was still shooting about a 3 inch group, but my pattern then seemed to drift around the target suggesting my scope might be getting jolted too much by the kick of the gun. Next I bought a center point 3-9x 32mm red/green illuminated reticle scope. It was then I got my patterns down to about 1-2 inches. That still was not good enough for me. I have just ordered some jsb exact diablo 18 grain pellets in hopes of getting better patterns. Just today I figured out that the tighter the fit the pellet is in the barrel, the further to the left the pellet lands, and vice versa. It is the same type of deal with the way you hold the gun. If you hold it tight it shoots low, if you hold it loose, it shoots high. Another thing that helps accuracy, is making sure the pellets are firmly seated in the breech of the gun. That was one of my main problems. If I had owned a break barrel gun before and knew what to expect from this gun, I would have rated this gun 41/2 stars. The only thing keeping it from being 5 stars is the crappy scope that is included. I have that one on my .22 lr and it does fine on that gun. I have selected not to recommend this to a friend, but it really depends on the friend. It is a good gun but it is best in my opinion that you know a bit about pellet guns before you try this one out. If you are looking for a good mid range pellet gun, this is defiantly one to consider.
Accurate, relativity quiet, shoots hard, heavy weight, and it came with pellets are awesome.
Scope is junk, lots of recoil resulting in your scope being beat to death and it sliding around on its mounts. It is also a picky eater.

Gamo Silent Stalker .177
November 25, 2012
WOW! This is more like a Firearm than an air rifle. Blew a hole in a squirrel at 40 yrds. I like a hollow point 17mm. This is my first adult air rifle since my daisy red rider BB gun in 1956. It won't be my last!
Feels like a rifle.
Scope is not up to the rifles quality.

Rodent reducer
November 3, 2012
This is the most hard hitting, accurate air rifle I have ever owned. I have a rat infestation in my barn where I store hay and chicken feed and the barn contains the nighttime chicken pen. The chicken feeder is hung from a rafter by a chain and the rats actually descend head first down the chain to get to the feeder. When they get to the halfway point on the chain one shot from this rifle ends the problem and the remainder of the rat's descent is gravity driven. The scope that comes with the rifle is OK but I opted to upgrade to a 3X9 power scope for clarity as I had a difficult time focusing the stock scope. I spent 2 hours trying to get a clear focus and it was marginal at best.
Hard hitting one shot stops on small rodents/varmints. Quiet, fast reloading, and easy to cock.
The rifle is advertised as having an adjustable trigger. Not sure what it adjusts but the screw going from full down to full up does not seem to have any effect on trigger pull or pull distance. Ditch the scope that comes with the rifle right away and opt for a variable power if you want true satisfaction. Stock scope is OK but they could do better for the price.

Nice rifle
August 24, 2012
I've had this .22 pellet gun for about two days and have fired 500 rounds through it. It is totally addictive and my trigger finger/reloading finger hurts. I found that using a wooden chopstick will firmly place the pellet skirt into the break barrel and will increase accuracy and not hurt your finger. I've seen great power with this rifle and after seasoning the barrel and dialing in the scope, it can be accurate if shot accurately. I've been attempting shots as far as 200 yards out with success. I've even seen barrel smoke after shooting. Great deal at the same price as .177 caliber. The included target is fun, but I've already had to use JB Weld to put it back together. But anything you shoot that much, what would one expect? As for the nitro piston great concept, but only time will tell. So far I highly recommend, and the only thing that worries me is that with my strength, I may eventually bend the barrel pumping it and destroy the accuracy. If I had designed the rifle I would have devised a way to not put so much stress on the barrel. The scope just takes a lot of time to get adjusted correctly.
Power, price, fun, and free target. Totally addictive. Quiet yet ultra powerful. Heavy lead. Smoking barrel.
No optional iron site. Long break in period.

I bought this rifle to test out Piston Power and it preforms much better then my neighbor spring powered This Rifle has MORE HITTING POWER than his and the advantages of the piston are evident. Would I recommend this to a friend only if they where looking for an entry level rifle.
Lighter weight then a spring and less of a report when fired
Toss out the crap scope, compound trigger pull is to long even adjusted all the way up.
