Lovely Air Rifle
December 27, 2013
This is a great air rifle. I was lucky enough to pick one up for well under $200 and at that price it was the deal of the century. Out of the box I was delighted to receive more than I had been expecting e.g. 2x options for laser and flashlight switching, batteries included, nice quality scope mounts, even 20 or so rounds of lightweight ammo. Not sure why you would want to shoot lightweight ammo with this rifle however, and the inclusion of them in the box risks freight company refusal to transport depending on their terms and conditions (and whether they realize the ammo is there). The styling of the stock ranges somewhere between 'modern and innovative' to 'dog ugly' depending on your personal opinion.
Pros:
Nice to hold. Nice to cock. Nice to shoot. Good power. Good accuracy.
Cons:
Large offset in laser positioning and no open sights means there really isn't an extreme short range targeting option (anybody else get rats in their chicken coop?). It would have been better if the laser could have been mounted closer to the barrel. Barrel shroud can be a bit askew, which is a cosmetic issue. I'm pretty sure the barrel underneath is dead straight. At the time of writing, the laser (without much prior use) has gone a bit intermittent in operation.

Great gun for the price
July 17, 2013
I just put the scope on and was zeroing it in this morning. I was amazed at the grouping with this gun. I had several sub quarter inch groups at 10 yards. It only took a couple shots to get the scope which was a NC 4 X 16 - 50 A grasshopper landed on the target and it was no problem to see him fly into pieces. The cocking was a little stiff but was better after 10 shots or I am learning to apply the right presure when cocking. Only using the crossman hollow points now until I get use to it. But with the grouping I am getting might have to stay with them. Great gun for the money.
Pros:
Great Gun for the Money, Hard hitting and sub 1/4 inch at 10 yds
Cons:
None so far

If I could only figure how to make the right scope adjustments.
May 26, 2013
Love the varmint hunter; but having trouble sighting the scope. Even when adjusting the elevation seems like it shoot 3 inches below my aimed target. I don't have a lot experience in sighting a scope so I would say its me.

First high power air rifle
April 27, 2013
I am very happy with this rifle. It does take some time behind the scope to get used to how it shoots. But over all it is accurate and strong. I was able to get under 1"groups at 35yds. I have never had a high power air rifle before, so the recoil really surprised me, but once I got a feel for the rifle it became a lot of fun to shoot. I really like the stock, I am 6'4" and have pretty big hands, so this stock fits me very well. I plan on using it for hunting small game and I think it's going to perform very well. I will say don't use Gamo pellets if you want accuracy.
Pros:
I like the scope pakage Accurate Lightweight Good price Great stock design
Cons:
Recoil

First Adult Air Rifle
March 14, 2013
So far, my experience has been great. I have shot it with two different pellets and it groups great with either one. The scope appears to be good quality and sighting in was easy. The light and laser are a nice bonus! The only dislikes are, the stiffness of the cocking spring and the noise, this gun is loud. As long as you are prepared for those two things, this is a great gun.
Pros:
Accuracy and power.
Cons:
noise strength required to cock

Out of the box this gun shot great! Surprised by how loud the gun actually was for an air rifle. Gamo again creates a top of the line air rifle. Couldn't ask for more.

Great Gun
December 10, 2011
I ordered this gun off of a different website so i over-payed. As soon as i got this gun i ran outside and started shooting it as i was shooting i realized how loud this gun is. Sounds a little bit like a .22. If you want this gun to hunt with then you should definitely get this gun. it can take down a fox from 30 yards and i took down a raccoon from 60 yards with two shots. killed a squirrel from across my pond with it and the squirrel fell back a couple feet from where i shot it. So this gun definitely packs a punch and i would recommend it to anyone i know. I am going to pass the one i have now down to my 9 year old brother when he turns 13 so he will be practicing with this and I will no doubt buy another one from here.
Pros:
Great feel Awesome Power Great Hunting Destroys a squirrel Can kill almost anything up to 30 pounds in range Can kill a lot of stuff with the right shot
Cons:
Hate plastic but its still a tough plastic Wears over time

Q&A
By jordan from marion on November 18, 2011
is it perfect for pest control and hunting small game

By Conor from Sunnyside, WA on February 4, 2012

Answer:
Yes, it'll suit your needs perfectly.

By salim from warren, MI on December 4, 2011
were is it made?
what about warranty?
By Conor from Sunnyside, WA on February 4, 2012

Answer:
I think it is a 1 year warranty, and I believe it is made in the USA.

By G0ru from SD on July 16, 2012
Can I add a supressor/ silencer to this weapon? Don't want to startle my neighbors while Im taking out gophers!
By Conor from Sunnyside, Washington on August 25, 2012

Answer:
No, there is no threaded end on the barrel. You'd have to check with your state and federal law anyways, I don't think you can put them on here in the US.

By alex from mesa AZ on June 27, 2012
Is there any posibility of this gun having a longer barrel? And could this take down a wild pig or coyte from 35 to 40 yards with predator polymag hunting pellets?

http://www.airgundepot.com/predator-1002-01.html
By Conor from Sunnyside, Washington on August 25, 2012

Answer:
A "no" on the barrel question, and definitely not a wild pig or coyote even at 10yds. Use a .223 or something similar.

By alex from mesa az on June 28, 2012
Is this gun acurate at 75 to 100 yards?
By Conor from Sunnyside, Washington on August 25, 2012

Answer:
With the right pellets, and assuming that the shooter is doing his part, the groups would be around 3-5 inches I'd assume.

By Chad from New England on November 25, 2011
I'm looking for an air rifle to hunt small pests around the farm, foxes, raccoons, possums and rats. Is this gun a good choice for that? What is your impression of the gun?
By Andrew from westbrookville New York on December 10, 2011

Answer:
you can easily eliminate all of the above pests because unexpectedly this gun packs quite a punch and i killed a 15 pound red fox out of my bedroom window while it was eating a rabbit it took two shots but with the first shot i went right for the head and it fell on its side and it was probably dead by then but i took another heart shot just to be safe. Better Safe than Sorry. I am going to get this one mounted. I also yesterday night took a raccoon out with one head shot it was a good 10 pounds!!! As soon as i got this gun [Not from this website so i overpayed] I took out a squirrel from about 50 yards!!! so you should be able to kill all of the above animals
By Conor from Sunnyside, WA on February 8, 2012

Answer:
Yes this is good, but a good, if not better gun with the same power is the Benjamin Trail XL .22.....really accurate and powerful.

By andrew from westbrookville New York on December 11, 2011
I am wondering exactly which animals this gun can take down such as fox, raccoon, possum, fisher, squirrel, Rabbit, Rat, Fish? And if they can take down those animals how far do you have to be to take them down with a clean kill
By Staff on December 29, 2011

Answer:
Depending on how big your local raccoons, possums, and foxes get, you may have problems killing them with this gun. Smaller animals won't stand a chance. But as a .22 caliber, it is fairly powerful, so a shot to the head would work fine.
