Very Good Air Rifle
April 5, 2013
![]()
Bought it, took it home, and the first 5 or so shots dieseled pretty good. After that, I could not shoot accurate no matter what type of pellet I used. Thought it maybe needed to be broke in. I shot well over 500 pellets through it with no better than 3" groups at 10 yards. I was pretty upset and about to send it back to gamo. I ran a couple of dry patches through it and the patches came out with burnt oil on them from the first few shots dieseling. That crud was fouling the bore and throwing off POI. Now that it's clean, all of the holes on the paper are touching at ten yards. Can't wait to set it for 40 yards. If you are having accuracy problems out of the box, don't get frustrated like I did. Run a couple of patches through it and problem solved! Good job Gamo
Pros:Power Accuracy lightweight Easy to shoulderCons:Scope and mounts |

Not Gamo's best...
April 2, 2013
![]()
I was actually fairly disappointed in this gun. Out of the box, it takes ages to break in. The PBA ammo cracks like a .22, and the scope is useless due to the barrel droop this gun is prone to. The rubber grips feel somewhat cheap, and the recoil pad isn't the best. The cocking effort is manageable, and after a while it gets accurate, but for $150 I can get a Hatsan 95 and get much better quality and accuracy.
Pros:Color Trigger breaks semi-predictably Accurate with heavier pellets (I'd assume)Cons:Barrel droop Cracks like a .22 with light pellets Shroud doesnt help. Needs alot of improvements for the price |

Game Bone Collector Bull Whisper .177
March 9, 2013
![]()
This is a great gun. Only thing I don't like about it is the scope. I have to redial every 100 shots or so. The gun is LOUD with PBA pellets but I love the sound of it. I have 5 acres and a couple neighbors drove by my house to investigate. If you use slower pellet (RWS meisterkugeln pellets is an excellent choice) you should be fine in your smaller backyard. The gun is well made over all for the money and Airgun Depot did a good job with shipping...Fast!
Pros:Everything. Buy the gun and change the scope.Cons:scope |

A Fantastic Air Rifle - don't hesitate to buy!

Incredible Air Rifle for the price. I bought one of these in the .177 caliber after struggling with a Benjamin NP XL1100 in .22 caliber. The Benjamin is one heavy rifle and I have not been able to master the artillery hold. Purchasing the Bone Collector has solved that problem. The Bone Collector is light weight and comfortable to shoot. I did upgrade the scope to a RWS 3-9X44 Night Pro Scope with the 1PC lockdown mount - perfect match for this air rifle. This rifle is now rock-solid! Had the scope dighted in after only a few shots. Now I can drive nails comfortably at a range of distances. Can't wait to take this bad boy out a put a hurting on some of the local vermin. If you are on the fence about what air rifle to purchase, run (don't walk) to your local supplier or to Airgun Depot and purchase this rifle.
Pros:Weight Look and Feel Length Ease of Use Accuracy Power and Penetration Noise ReductionCons:Scope and Rings. |

Very consitant

It took me 8 shots to sight in the basic scope that comes with it, and it holds zeroing rather well. The gun itself is extremely powerful and the power stays the same break after break. In the hunting aspect it will easily down a small to medium sized animal (squirrel to coyote). I've heard of this gun bringing in a wild pig but personally I wouldn't suggest it. Bull whisper will crack like a .22 with the alloy pellets because they break the sound barrier. Stick with heavier lead pellets and the sound level is reasonable. The pellet trap, however, blew apart at the weld upon the first shot, so kinda pointless for them to even send it but its not a big deal. Overall, amazing gun and I am very happy with purchase.
Pros:Power Accuracy Visual lookCons:Pellet trap |

Great Gun
August 6, 2012
![]()
This gun is very accurate and powerful with most pellets although I found .177 crosman premier hp's to be the best pellets with the bone collector. The nitro piston lives up to what it promises and not that I don't like crosman but the gamo nitro piston is better and has a lower cocking effort even though the gamo np is more powerful. With 7.9 grain pellets this gun is shootin upwards of 950 fps and generating about 15 ft/lbs wich is plenty of knock down power for hunting anything from chipmunks and small pest birds to woodchucks and crows. This gun ships with an ok scope with a fairly clear image and good sturdy mounts but I would recommend a 3-9 variable scope for best accuracy. This gun is also very quiet thanks to the nd52 noise dampener and shrouded barrel. If you are new to airguns and recieve the gun and use the pba the gun ships with they will break the sound barrier and sound much much louder than led pellets. The only problem I have had with this gun is it tends to have very fine rust forming on it but that can be taken care of. If you take time and practice you can produce sub 1/2 inch groups with this gun. Overall great gun!
Pros:almost everythingCons:rust and maybe scope |

This is the best air rifle I have owned

After I got this dialed in it was awesome. Great for squirrels. One shot one kill baby. And I thought the claims of being able to bring down bigger critters was a little far fetched, but I just took out the ground hog that has been eating my veggies with one shot. Love this gun.
Pros:Great gun , accurate. ,very good power with the right ammo. Adjustable trigger is great too.Cons:Yes this gun is supposed to be a quiet gun, but is a little loud . But I have fired other airguns that were louder . |

noise and accuracy complaints
April 26, 2012
![]()
I have had a whisper .177 and will soon have one of these. The first things i will do is get a better scope and make sure the screws are ALL tight. Next i will clean the barrel and put a few hundred rounds through it. The reason for this is it allows the barrel to get lined with lead which in turn makes it quieter and shoot straighter. One thing to remember is the faster the ammo the closer it is to breaking the sound barrier. When i used pba .177 ammo it make a crack sound and it of course doesn't have as much of a impact on prey anyways but i wont worry about that with the .22. I can effectively use a lighter ammo that still has to crushing blow for a one shot one kill hunt. Another thing i wont have to worry about is the wind effecting the ammo as much trying to sight a .177 in on a wind day is nooo good. Also use a good ammo which will have a more constant weight like gamo pellets. They also tend to have longer skirts! A lot of the stuff i have touched on addresses some of the common misconceptions with pellet guns like "its not accurate or its too loud or the scope isn't quality" which it is i just would like a better one.
Pros:quality trigger silencerCons:scope could be a 3-9x32 |

Suprisingly Loud
April 22, 2012
![]()
When searching for a quite pellet gun this gun appeared in most searches because of its Bull Whisper barrel. So after it arrived i test fired it and sounded as loud as a .22 rimfire. I specifically bought this gun because i needed pest control withut the neighbors knowing because i had complaints from them and authorities telling me im no longer allowed to shoot any guns near my house. Could of done better job with the noise reducer GMMO.Also the scope is garbage i'm going to have to go out and buy a new scope if i plan to keep this gun. Not recommended if you live in urbanish setting.
Pros:Fast Accurate with better scope LightweightCons:Trigger pull not adjustable Scope LOUDNESS |

not as advertised

pictured with noise dampener, iron sights and w/ 3-9x40mm scope. when received, came with full polymer bull barrel, no fixed iron sights and a 4x32 scope. accuracy is problem as with most reviews that i have read of others. mount for scope is terrible even when loctited, scope is blurred around edge field of view but is a cheap scope. trigger has tons of creep. i bought new scope and rings and loctited, now accurate-however still have a few fliers, suspect the more shooting it will settle in. the air rifle itself is great with exception of trigger and if just had come with iron sights could have been fairly accurate right away.
Pros:synthetic stock , gas pistonCons:trigger, scope/mounts |

Small game....By that i mean rabbits, squirrels, chipmunks, moles, mice, crows, etc....Super accurate to about 200'. I got mine for squirrels and chipmunks that are chewing up our bird feeders.
Shots from 50' to 200' rarely miss.

I have I hunted a variety of small game, squirrel, chipmunks, field mice, and even a close range woodchuck (20 yards). I think this gun is the best spring/ nitro piston gun I have onwed (5 total) for small game. It is extremaly accurate and I reguraly shoot 2''x2'' targets at 50 yards with a 4-16x50mm scope. I really think this gun has enough power for a woodckuck, like I said. I have dispatched many of animals and highly advise you to shoot some small game (squirrel is delicious). ;)By Travis from California on June 20, 2012
