Scope included! All the speed and velocity of a .177 cal and the power and punch of a .22. Why buy two guns when you can buy just one! The Hammerli X2 Adult Air Rifle is a dual caliber break barrel rifle that features a technologically advanced interchangeable barrel system. Hammerli engineers designed the X2's barrel system with an Easy Change Caliber System. This system allows the switch of the X2's included .177 caliber barrel and .22 caliber barrel in about a minute. The Hammerli X2 is also loaded with features like a dark hardwood stock, contoured cheek piece, rubber recoil pad, hooded fiber optic front sight, and adjustable fiber optic rear sight. This incredibly unique break barrel air rifle produces outstanding velocities up to 1100 feet per second in .177 and up to 900 fps in .22 which provides both "speed" and "punch" ideal for multiple shooting applications.

Excellent gun

This is an amazing gun! It is very dependable. I take mine with me when I trap. This gun has never given me fits about the cold, heat, or even water down the barrel (let the water settle the mussel, then blow). I have killed many skunks, raccoons, and muskrats with this gun. It has the power to knock "big game" down and out. The breech is big enough to fit pellets in with ease.
Pros:
it is dependable, accurate, and a ball to shoot
Cons:
it is a little hard to cock for fast follow up shots

Hammerli X2 Dual Caliber
February 3, 2012
I pruchased one of these re'furbed from AGD and it was perfect. Very good looking rifle. I reviewed this under the re'furb heading. With the .177 barrel, this rifle is a real pleasure to shoot and very accurate. It is not "finnicky" when it comes to pellets. In fact I use RWS Super Domes 8.3, AA Field Heavy 10.3, RWS SuperMags 9.3 and the Avanti D Match WC 8.4. It does a great job with all of these. But the .22 barrel is an "odd duck" to say the least. The chamber will not accept many pellets and I have read numerous reviews about this. Mine will not eat any of the Crosman pellets without difficulty. Very tight...have to force them in and then of course the accuracy suffers. Since this is a Mendoza 2003, I tried the Men pellets. NO JOY! I tried the RWS Super Dome. Best group 3" @ 25 yards. What is odd, is that the chamber is very tight, but for what it's worth, all pellets will fit loosely in the muzzle end. I am wondering if this thing is "back-bored"? Any feedback on this? I did however finally find a pellet it eats without fuss and provides excellent accuracy, the H&N HP 12.65 grs. Sorry this is so long, but I'm starving for info on this barrel.
Pros:
The quality is there. And of course the Mendoza trigger is hard to beat. The wood stock is well shaped compared to most.
Cons:
Extremely tight chamber in the .22 barrel. I tried all different diameter pellets available but still tight even with the smallest. You can insert a 5.55 into the muzzle end and it is loose. A 5.50 takes effort to load into the chamber (?). Have read 5 reviews in the last couple of days and it seems to be a common issue.
