Hatsan Vortex gas piston technology is developed and manufactured by Hatsan to be specifically used in most Hatsan break barrel and under lever airguns. Vortex gas pistons utilize regular air instead of any other type of gas. Gas piston power provides a smoother and quieter shooting experience, so you can forget about the grinding noise a spring powered gun can make. Cocking a vortex gas piston is also much smoother than a spring piston. The life of your Striker 1000s Vortex air rifle with cycle past your other springers, since you won't have to worry about spring fatigue or many moving parts. This rifle will provide you with quiet accuracy and all the features that come with a Hatsan air rifle.

Unfortunate experience with this rifle...
January 29, 2014
While I was actually hoping for a decent showing at 650 FPS the rifle I recieved was noticably down on power. It also shot way low and over 1 foot to the left. The supplied scope arrived with the Up/Down adjuster over tightened in the max down position and it tool over 3 turns to even get the POI onto an 11x14 target. Shortly after firing several 3 round zeroing groups the trigger failed completely and would not shoot the rifle. I called SGD Monday and it shipped out to them as a defect today. This was a Nitro version of the 1000 and sold in .25 caliber. I will replace it with a little more widely used .22 with a bit more power once that rifle is inspected and a refund is issued...So far AGD has been absolutely great with resolving the issues with this rifle.. Bob
Pros:Nice feel. Rubber inlaid forestockk and piston grip, scope stop, fiber optic iron sight.
Cons:Failed to meet the 650 FPS mark, had bad barred droop, and the trigger malfunctioned. Generally a poorly assembled rifle all the way around. Possible the elast one on a Friday or the first one on a Monday kind of thing...

Amazing pellet gun
January 16, 2014
I bought the spring version that was about 110$, but it is not on the website any more, but I had to write a review for this gun. This gun is built great. It is extremely light weight and is the most silent pellet gun I have ever considered shooting. This gun is great for the money. I own 4 pellet guns right now and this is the best even though it was the cheapest. (the spring was cheaper). The scope is not that bad on the gun and the bipod is what you would expect (not great) and the trigger is bad. There is an extremely long trigger pull but don't let that discourage you from buying this gun. Great iron sights as well. I put on a ruby lense NC china made 3-9x40 (one of the first guns for sale 30$) and they make a great pair!
