Hatsan Vortex gas piston technology is developed and manufactured by Hatsan to be specifically used in most Hatsan break barrel and under lever airguns. Vortex gas pistons utilize regular air instead of any other type of gas. Gas piston power provides a smoother and quieter shooting experience, so you can forget about the grinding noise a spring powered gun can make. Cocking a vortex gas piston is also much smoother than a spring piston. The life of your Striker 1000s Vortex air rifle with cycle past your other springers, since you won't have to worry about spring fatigue or many moving parts. This rifle will provide you with quiet accuracy and all the features that come with a Hatsan air rifle.

Hatsan 1000S vortex

I've had this air rifle for about two months now. So far o have put about 500 + pellets through it, with no issues. Great accuracy at 15-20 yards. I use it every other day for squirrel hunting, I have to say it does pack a punch.!!!
Pros:
Synthetic, quiet and good looking.
Cons:
Scope could be better.

Excellent Value

This is a fun rifle to shoot. I got dime sized groups at 10yds with a rest. While there is some drop off beyond 30 yds it is still easy to get 3 inch groups at 50 yds with a mill dot scope. It is a light rifle which is easier to hold and shoot than its magnum counterparts. The stock seems to resonate a hollow sound when shooting which could likely be remedied with some foam insulation. The Nitro piston is very smooth but not without some kick. It seems more powerful than the Benjamin Nitro piston. The trigger pull is long but smooth and relatively light and is predictable. I would expect minimal drop off at 50 yds with the .22 .This is an easier rifle to carry around but still packs enough power and accuracy to be a reliable hunter. The stock screws were loose on arrival but easily tightened and have stayed stable without locktite. The previous negative poster may have had this issue and not realized it. There was no barrel hinge play laterally and the barrel did not have any visible or functional droop.
Pros:
Excellent Power and accuracy. More powerful than its Benjamin counterparts. Light and fun to shoot.
Cons:
Hollow sound that resonates stock when shooting. Stock screws were loose had to tighten

barrel sways in shooting possision
October 28, 2013
After cocking the gun and placing the barrel in shooting position, the barrel had movement left to right, causing no accurate shooting. The gun is powerful, and has a nice look. But some work needs to be done on the movement of the barrel.
Pros:
Its quiet, and strong
Cons:
The barrel moves left to right while tring to shoot
