Hatsan Galatian QE, Scope Combo

  • Code: 3GLT177QEKit · .177 · 1130 fps
Out of Stock
The Airgun Depot exclusive Hatsan Galatian QE Scope combo adds one of our favorite Hawke scopes, the Vantage IR 4-12x50 AO scope with rings to an already amazing PCP. The Galatian combines everything you want from a PCP with the extras lacking from less expensive rifles. The Hatsan Quiet Energy (or QE) system is one of the best and really silences this powerful rifle. On top of that you have a smooth cocking side lever design, large indexing magazine for quick follow-up shots (magazine holds 16rds in .177 caliber!), and a large on-board reservoir for a steady stream of consistent shots between having to fill up . Even though the Galatian is an incredibly powerful rifle, and you'll get a lot of shots between fills. In fact, just get an extra tank, fill it with air and carry it with you. Then, when you run out of air, you can just unscrew the empty tank and screw in the full one. When you open the box, you'll immediately notice the attention to detail that went into the design and manufacture of this air gun. This is a quality rifle made by a company founded by an airgunner. Opened up the box to look at a very well constructed (although heavy) 25 cal of goodness. I got the scope mounted and sighted in around 15 minutes (not including pumping it up). Dime groups at 25 yards off hand. Very pleased with the gun however see the cons.

Pros
Accurate and reasonably quiet. Very solid and the scope is a treat to look through. Balance matches the looks, this will be a keeper.

Cons
The whole gun is cheapened by the hard case and sling. The gun touches the case end to end and there is no room to store it if you adjust (extend) the stock. Would adding 2" to the case have hurt the bank on a $900 gun? Secondly the sling is nasty and the front swivel broke on the first grab. Again on a $900 gun would it have hurt to spend another $1 or $3 to make these match the quality of the rifle.

how do you pump air into this gun?

asked Craig

The Airgun Depot "Definitive Guide" for the Galatian shows muzzle velocities more than 100 fps less than that claimed for the .25 caliber rifle. The "Guide" gives this information for a 25.4 grain pellet which would be considered standard weight for a .25. Why is the muzzle velocity claimed to be so much greater than it really is?
