Even though FPS rates may look the same from brand to brand, that may not always be the case. Hatsan tests this rating using lead pellets, but most competitors use lighter aluminum alloy pellets. What this means for you is that your Hatsan Model 85X .25 Caliber Air Rifle w/ 3-9x32mm Scope will deliver more knockdown power than an alloy-tested airgun with the same FPS rating. Hatsan airguns offer specialty features that come standard within the product line to provide shooters with a better shooting experience.
Hatsan Unique Features:
|Quattro Trigger:||Advanced two-stage match trigger only available from Hatsan|
|Shock Absorber System (SAS):||Reduces vibration and increases the life of the gun, optics, and accessories|
|TruGlo® Fiber Optics:||Microadjustable rear sight and front sight to lend more accuracy to every shot|
|Triopad® Butt System:||Maximum recoil absorption provides added comfort, and three stock spacers allow adjustments for appropriate length of pull.|
|Integrated Sound Moderator||Sound moderator in muzzle break for reduced down-range noise. Includes front open fiber optic sight.|
|Safety:||A drop safety interlock device has been incorporated to eliminate the possibility of the airgun accidentally firing if it’s dropped (whether or not the safety is on).|

Good Rifle--Great Price
January 30, 2015
I bought his rifle from Air Gun Depot 8/8/2014. I really like this gun and I really like doing business with Air Gun Depot. Their customer service dept.absolutely came through for me in spades on a different gun that I recently bought from them this last December. They double box their products with good packing material. This prevents most damage in shipments. I spent about a month researching different makes and models of 25 cal.air guns and their prices before I bought this one. I read every review I could find on his gun before I ordered it .This gun shoots well and has many nice features only found on higher priced guns. An artillery hold is an absolute must with this gun and the trigger should be pulled in a slightly upward motion. ( recomended by Hatsan USA service tec. ) The Quattro trigger adjusts very nicely. I have mine set up with minimun travel and pull weight. The gun is accurate once the shooting technique is mastered. I have this gun sighted in with an open reflex sight set for 30 yards. Down range noise is minimal when the gun is fired from inside an enclosure with only the suppressor protruding out side. At the gun, and in the firing position, what is heard is the action of the piston & spring.Today I shot a dead center bulleye with three clover leaf holes touching it. The gun likes Hatsan Vortex Supreme domed pellets ( 19.91gr) the best. It also shoots Skenco Ultrashock hollow points (23.53 gr)--H&N Field Target Trophy domed (20.06 gr)--Gamo Rocket ( 20.86 gr ) and Benjamin domed 27.8 gr ) pellets well. I have 5 pellet rifles. Three are spring piston and two are gas piston. Four are break barrel types and one is an under lever-fixed barrel type. The calibers are 177,22 and 25. For break-in I cleaned the barrel first,checked all screws and shot 200 pellets. It started grouping well in the first 10-20 shots. I am retired and shoot almost every day. I have shot hundreds of pellets through this gun and have not had any problems with it so far,outside of having to check screw tightness. I have put service removeable( blue ) loc-tite on all of the screws. I have a spare bedroom in my home that I shoot out of and have it set up as my gun room. I shoot into my back yard at a target range that I have set up in it. I no longer hunt for sport and shoot for the most part, at different targets out to 85yards. Paper targets,spinners and hi-visibility golf balls suspended from string. I live out of town on a 1 1/2 acre lot with many acres of woods around me.The noise factor is not as important for me as it can be for others but I pay attention to it just the same. I live in a legal big game hunting area and have a lot of wild life comming through my yard. This also includes rabid skunks, racoons ect. That is what my ruger 10/22 and this gun are for. This gun will drop a racoon with one well placed shot, guaranteed! This gun is hold sensitive and a proper shooting technique is necessary in order to be accurate. This gun is not a good choice for those unfamilar with spring piston air guns and do no want the challenge of learning to master it. Buy the Vortex gas pistion model instead. Air Gun Depot has a good price on that one too. I did not buy the gun for the bi-pod, sling or scope. The scope is ok,I put it on a different gun with more range. The bi-pod I use for display and the sling is in my gun safe with my big game rifles & pistols. All in all I am very pleased with this gun. I had an intended purpose and knew the effective range/power of the gun before I bought it. This gun is a good choice for the right person. This gun is not a good choice for a child.-- Good Luck--Choose Wisely--Enjoy
Pros:Spring piston parts are readly available thru Hatsan USA--not so for vortex gas piston yet ( some can be had from Mfg in Brazil ) - Bargan price.- Hi quality and features only found on much higher priced air guns-Great Accuracy ( for me out to 30 yards ) - Ample power and effectiveness ( for a medium spring piston type rifle ) -Challenging and fun to shoot - Good balance / handles well with natural point characeristics - Lots of adjustibility in stock,trigger ect.- Noise suppressed ( down range- not spring and piston accuation noise ) Good looking rifle.
Cons:None so far
