Even though FPS rates may look the same from brand to brand, that may not always be the case. Hatsan tests this rating using lead pellets, but most competitors use lighter aluminum alloy pellets. What this means for you is that your Hatsan Striker 1000S .177 Caliber Air Rifle w/ 3-9x32mm Scope will deliver more knockdown power than an alloy-tested airgun with the same FPS rating.Hatsan airguns offer specialty features that come standard within the product line to provide shooters with a better shooting experience.
Hatsan Unique Features:
| TruGlo® Fiber Optics: | Microadjustable rear sight and front sight to lend more accuracy to every shot |
| Safety: | A drop safety interlock device has been incorporated to eliminate the possibility of the airgun accidentally firing if it’s dropped (whether or not the safety is on). |
| Ambidextrous & Ergonomic Design: | Comfortable grip with soft rubber inlays, giving better control and feel on the air rifle, for both right- and left-handed shooters. |

Overall Rating for Hatsan Striker 1000S .177 Air Rifle Kit w/3-9x32 Scope & Bipod
Excellent made, good priced pellet rifle

By Kenny from Virginia on December 9, 2011
I just got my new Hatsan 1000S in a couple of days ago and ..........LOVE IT !!! It shoots very hard and holds very good groups with the right kind of pellet. I got golfball groups with RWS Super H at 30 yds and with the PBA Platinums I got less than a quarter groups at 30 yds. I have yet to shoot it thru my chronograph to see the actual FPS, but I will soon. Overall this is a very impressive gun for the $$$. The spring action is a little loud but not nothing that is to bad. For the performance, I can stand a little noise from the spring. Pros:
Excellent shooting rifle, pretty good scope, pretty easy cocking for 29lbs.Cons:
scope rings could be a bit higher to see open sightsI would recommend this item to a friend.
Quality gun

Just got this Rifle and only a few shots, but I have been looking for an air rifle for some time. Went to Academy and examined various brands. I decided to go with the Hatsan since I have their 12 Gauge Semi-auto, which out performs any semi-auto I have had before. This gun for the price is hard to beat. At 112 dollars you get upper level quality for a great price. This gun came with a scope, and a bipod. This gun is heavy and the weight bias is to the front. Which I like, since the forward weight makes the gun stable. With that said, this gun would not be good for kids, or a small woman. Also the scope mounts are high enough to still use the metal sights, but just barely. I would upgrade the scope mounts and go with higher mounts.Pros:
Price, Quality, Balance, Trigger, Ease of use.Cons:
LoudI would recommend this item to a friend.
great gun

By Garrett Knorr from colorado Springs on March 5, 2012
First and foremost, the scope is crap. I take about 40 hours of shooting to get a good grouping with a single gun normally, this gun about 4 or 5 hour (I am not saying 40 hours at once, just over all). This gun is very accurate with the iron sights. The scope is too good for the gun itself. In order to have a clear picture past 4 or 5 you have to be really far away. The rings/scope mount is what I do not like however. I cannot get a consistent group with the scope because the scope is rattling around. My dad says this is because of the dovetail mount but I think it isn't a problem if you tighten the screws tight (unfortunately the heads of the screws on the mounts are plastic)
Other than the scope the gun is a great deal. It punches through a 150 pages of a phone book from 15 or 20 yards, which is very impressive. The cocking is very easy and I am a skinny 14 year old. The plastic shroud over the front sight is nice so you do not have to worry about it hitting anything. The stand this gun comes with is kind of cheap but it helps the accuracy. The rubber inserts are nice addition to the gun and give it a nice feels.
The weight bias is towards the front, which is good to keep the gun steady but after about two or three hours of shooting it gets very heavy. Nothing for adults to worry about but if you are a kid/younger I would say prepare for something that is pretty heavy. However, even though the front of the gun is very heavy it is VERY light in the back, most likely the back of the stock is semi hollow.
There is no ''Integrated Sound Moderator'' in it but it is still somewhat quite. The trigger pull has a long travel but I kind of like this. Once I have shot a single gun enough times I know the trigger pretty well and I feel I can pull the trigger until there is just a little bit left, then I fully pull the trigger. I have not tried to adjust the trigger because I am happy with it but it is adjustable.
The safety is in the back like most other break barrels so nothing interesting about that. The trigger is metal but the trigger guard is plastic (semi good plastic, nothing to worry about if your not dropping it).
My gun came very greased up which is good. Be sure to wipe the oil off the handle & barrel & stock & trigger, you get the point. Trying to adjust the trigger is a pain in the butt.
All I have shot are Crossman premiers pointed. I have heard that you should shoot try different pellets in air guns because the, “The right pellet changes everything.” I won’t buy anything that is not at a nearby store like Wal-Mart or Big 5 ect. I do want to try some more pellets but I am satisfied with the accuracy now. I hit the Lid of a pellet cap at 10 yards 4/5 times (I am not the best shot with this gun yet)
I have not taken out any game but I'm sure it will take out a rabbit, squirrel with ease.
RECAP: great gun for the money, scope ring are crap, iron sights are amazing, punches through 150 pages of phone book, no “sound moderator” but still a quite gun, weight bias is in the front, easy cocking.

Don't know if it is the same as the old triggers, but this one is adjustable. There is even a hole in the trigger guard to adjust the pull (neat).By Scott Saunders from Maine on November 30, 2011

Answer:
I don't have a scale, but it weighs more than my 22 rifles. I have not tried the bipod. The scope is cheap, and you need to adjust the rear sight to a high setting to site the gun in. I spent some time with the gun shooting at a target at 15 yards and with the rear sight at the lowest setting the shots were very low. With the scope mounted and the rear sight adjusted up you really can not use the iron sights and also the scope, unless you could lower the front sight.By Conor from Sunnyside, WA on February 8, 2012

Yes it weights around 6lbs....not heavy at all unless the person isn't very strong....By doug from stl on December 5, 2011
