Not enough power for anything. Only good for target practice.

This gun is very stiff to pump. It also lacks power. I've hit many squirrels at 10 feet, but all of them ran away after being hit. This gun does not have the power to remove pests. There is absolutely no modification. What you see is what you get.
Pros:It shoots straight.Cons:Hard to pump. Lacks power. No modification. |

Classic Pump Pistol

This airgun is a great buy. I did a lot of research before i bought this and it was well worth every dollar. Made very wel and made to lastl, no plastic. The rear sights a bit frustrating and could be changed for a better one but the accuracy more than makes up for it. with 5-7 pumps it will hit anything within 40 feet accurately! Its fun for just backyard shooting I am glad i went with the .22 cal. there is a lot of power to punch through a metal can 40 feet away with 10-12 pumps and taking out little critters at least rabbit size. I added the benjamin top mounts and a red dot sight and WOW its a serious little shooter.
Pros:made to last. very accurateCons:rear sights have no windage adjustment. |

I just got this gun in the mail today, wow, what a quality gun! I just love it!
I also have the EB22 co2 pistol, both are excellant quality guns. I would definitely recomend both of them to anyone. Normally I wouldn't take the time to leave feedback, but these guns are so exceptional in quality that I just had to spread the news!

Bought a pair of these a couple of years ago, and shoot them almost daily. A great pass time and great recreation for not much money. Good durable piece.

Negative Comments:
Quality Control / workmanship problems that could easily be corrected by manufacturer. Assembly tolerances are too sloppy and there do not appear to be any quality inspection controls in place.
Left side grip panel was undersized and misaligned with the frame dowel pin. Ordered a replacement from Crosman that had same alignment problem. I recut the dowel relief hole in the new grip panel and epoxied for a tight fit - grip panel is now aligned and has an acceptable fit to the frame.
The front sight blade was poorly machined and had a glob of paint that distorted the sight picture and reduced accuracy. I carefully shaped the front blade with a small file and applied Birchwood Casey Brass Black to match with the paint as much as possible.
Bolt had tooling marks that caused galling with the brass receiver. I polished the bolt with a metal polishing pad to solve the problem. The downside is the bolt no longer has protective plating. I keep my pistol oiled so I do not expect that the lack of plating will be an issue.
Pistol needs a better rear sight that has a better sight picture and more windage adjustment
Would have rated this pistol a 4-star and recommend this product if there had been no quality issues.
Positive Comments:
Pistol is capable of accuracy @12 yards that is comparable to my Gamo Whisper .22 w/red dot sight at the same distance.
Weight, balance, feel, and power are very good for an economy grade air pistol.

Benjamin pump

Excellent. At 25 yards it only needs five pumps to be on target. Sometimes I only use three pumps and have very little variation. If you are looking for something to plink with this can not be beat. Buy it already and get to plinking.

Benjamin HB22 - .22 Air Pistol

Sweet little piece of machinery, good quality gun. Probably the most accurate pistol I've shot. Two stage trigger feels perfect. Shooting cans/targets is too easy, we shoot grapes with this thing.
As said before, it's worth the pumping for the purity of the result. If you can't hit with this, it isn't the gun.

it shoots great, i live in the city and i can still take it in my back yard and throw a little lead around. I suggest oiling it and pumping will be much easier. A friend borrowed mine for a while he over oiled it to the point of making it harder to pump. I took it apart the grip unscrews from barrel and cleaned. pumps like new

HB22 Hand pump pistol
January 3, 2010
![]()
yes it is true it takes a little work to pump it up but it is well worth it! after about 50 shoots my hand was syarting to hurt. at 22 yards I am already hitting the small 4 in target. I have bad eye sight so I just aim at the red target and it hits what I aim at. I can't wait to put a scope on it.

Quality Handgun

To get the most from this pistol try mounting a Bushnell red dot scope via a weaver scope rail, utilizing the existing rear sight screw, like I have done. I have found this gun to be extremely accurate, reliable and hard hitting. I is true that the HB is hard to pump 8 times, but it is worth it. I enjoy using my HB .22 with bushnell red dot, for hunting small game or target work. Installing a trigger shoe also provides a lighter trigger pull which helps with accuracy.

Answer:
the front piece of wood by the trigger goes in and out while you pump it.
