Having owned a Gamo Shadowmatic, I already knew Gamo's had world-class accuracy so I didn't even hesitate to buy another Gamo product. The Big Cat is built with more polymer parts than the older Shadow series but it does make it more resistant to weather. The scope needed a little zeroing and worked fine for me.

Pros
-Accuracy, almost boringly accurate. -Power, perfect for taking game. -Ease of cocking, frankly easier than the earlier shadow series, bull barrel aids in cocking.

Cons
-Trigger is a bit long but at least it's two-stage but you can only adjust the first stage. -Not very accurate with PBA pellets but they are still fun to shoot with their loud report.

The big cat is a nice rifle real light making it easy to shoot it offhand. It's dependable and quite accurate out to 40 yards using crosman 7.9 wad cutters . The scope is ok. Good gun for training, very user friendly for kids and ladies. Good power also. Cool looks. My 13 year old grandson calls it the viper sniper.

Pros
Dependable and easy to cock

Cons
The trigger pull, like with all Gamos, is very heavy. Not too happy about Gamo service, although with this model there should be no major problems easy to fix, and basic parts easy to get from Macarri.

I've had this gun for about 9-10 months now, and it is absolutely perfect! with Gamo rocket (the ones with a lead body and a copper ball tip) pellets, I can shoot super tight groups. however, with pba raptor pellets, there is a very bad grouping (trust me, it is the ammo and gun, not me. I am a .5 MOA shooter out to 1200 yards), but that does not really matter, because for hunting squirrels and crows, it is one shot, one kill with hollow points. Before shooting it, i replaced the scope with a Leapers 3-9x40AO.

Pros
accuracy with lead velocity range spring does not wear out easily

Cons
inaccurate with pba raptor, but that does not really matter. I guess the scope, but i don't know

I bore sighted the scope in and this gun is as accurate as any gun I have ever owned perfect for teaching my son how to shoot.

Pros
The gun feels quite comfortable which makes it almost natural to shoot

Cons
No sites other than the scope but I did know that when I bought it

honestly i like this air rifle!!! I've killed two squirrels with it. The only bad thing is the scope. I replaced the factory scope with a redhead ascent scope for 35.00.

Pros
every thing except the scope!!!

Cons
the scope

When this gun first arrived, it was love @ first sight. Even without the scope, I was able to nail targets from across the backyard. When I put the scope on, I had a bit of trouble sighting it in, then i adjusted the placement of the scope on the rail, and i barely had to zero it at all! Great gun. Awesome. In the first 5 days I've killed 2 squirrels and shot one other. Amazing rifle. If you want it, by all means get it. The refurbished part does not affect the precision or power of the gun. P.S. the included pba raptor ammo does break the sound barrier. AWESOME!

Pros
Everything!

Cons
nothing...

How quiet is this rifle? I need one that makes less noise than a 22 rifle?

asked wyo59

This one will definitely suit your needs, just use lead pellets .

Jake from USA

Would this gun be good for shooting pests such as rats and moles around my house and shooting cans with my friends?

asked blaise

Not just good, but perfect. You basically just described what most people use it for.

ROBERT from USA

Yes, I own one and it is perfect.

blaise

Does this gun come with the 3-9x40 scope like in the picture or the 4x32?

asked Ben

This particular one comes with a 4x32mm scope, but they also sell it with a 3-9x40mm for an extra $10. I'd pay the extra $10 if it were me.

ROBERT from USA

Lets say the scope breaks for no reason. Does this gun have other sights on it? looking at the end of the barrel (from the pictures) I would say no, but a definitive answer would be great. Thanks.

asked Mack

This is a scope only model, but you can find other Gamo's that have open sights if needed. Personally I'd just buy a spare scope if that was my concern. Or you could put open sights on this barrel... If you're looking for inexpensive you should look at the Ruger Blackhawk or a Crosman like the Quest, Phantom and others. Most are between $70 and $100 and include a scope and open sights. They also have solid steel barrels where the Gamo is plastic with a thin steel tube running down the center. I prefer the Crosman guns myself, but it's up to you.

ROBERT from USA

i own one. No, they do not.

you ship to puerto rico

asked nelson ale

We DO ship to Puerto Rico
