The Ruger Air Hawk is a 1000 feet per second pellet rifle with a single-shot cocking mechanism. This spring pistol break barrel airgun has a rifled blued barrel and receiver and is crafted with dark hard wood that is sleekly formed into an ambidextrous stock suitable for both right- and left-hand shooters. The Air Hawk rifle is equipped with fiber optic sights, an adjustable trigger, and a muzzle brake. When you shoulder this Ruger Air Rifle, you'll notice a comfortable grip, a conveniently placed automatic safety and a rubber recoil pad. The Ruger Air Hawk also comes with a 3-9x40 variable power airgun scope that is made to withstand the double recoil action produced by air rifles.

Great Gun

The Ruger Whisper shoots very accurate and is a beautiful gun for a air rifle. It will come in handy for those pesky chipmunks, squirrels, raccoons and rabbits. Was very pleased with this purchase and would buy this gun again. I have been hunting since I was 12 and now am 59. I bought this for city use, quiet and a very affordable gun, not to mention a good looking gun. I did not miss with this gun on looks, accuracy, and price!

The rifle propels the pellet much faster than I had anticipated.
Cons:The noise level is too high for Urban use. The neighbors will all know when one of their lovely squirrels ascends to acorn heaven. |

Great gun, however, the scope mounts need some serious reconsideration by the manufacturer.
While sighting in my rifle, I couldn't figure out why I couldn't get it zeroed in...I would adjust, shoot, adjust, shoot and couldn't for the life of me figure out why the pellet was hitting the target in such random places. That was until I realized the front scope mount had worked its way almost completely off the gun!!!
This rifle has way too much recoil for the scope mounts. I have faith in the rifle, however, definitely ordering new mounts asap.

I have the Ruger black hawk which is the same gun with different stock and no muzzle break. Bought at AGD. The gun is a copy of the RWS 34 it does not need a picatiny rail or for that matter weaver mounts. It shoots very well with dove tails and you can expect 900 plus fps in cal .177, I use 7.56 grain Gamo pellets very accurate out to 40 yards,gives about 14 fpe enough to put down pigeons and other small game. The trigger is not the hottest item, but it can be adjusted, and with time and practice become user friendly. The Air Hawk looks real cool and I would expect it to be a solid gun with the wood work it brings. The Black Hawk on the other hand is kind of noisy with it plastic stock had to fill mine with foam to make it more solid. All said they are both good inexpensive guns that will last a long time,and parts are very easy to get. The refurbished deal is a good deal, expect no problems.
