Great Gun

By Adan=m from Chapel Hill, NC on December 22, 2011
It was definitly worth the money. It's a little heavy, but isnt really a problem. Yes, the first shot is loud (like a .22) but gets quieter after each shot and now mine is great. I oiled it and it definetly has some more power to it after that. I use Crosman Premier Hollow Points or Crosman Destroyers, both work well on small game (i turned a starling inside out with a Destroyer). I tried a lighter alloy pellet from Gamo and it was much less effective at a distance. slows down considerably and dosent go nearly as fast after 25 yards. The scope used to be a problem from time to time but i clapmed it down pretty tight and havent had issues sience then. Shot several squirells and other pests around then house and have had clean kills. Great gun. Great price. Pros:
PriceAccuracy
Cons:
WeightI would recommend this item to a friend.
Great price, Great rifle

By John Rambo from Massachusetts on December 17, 2011
This thing packs a punch. Once you break it in and dial in the scope you are all set. Netted over 20 squirrels in just two weekends. I am very please with the accuracy and the power. Glad I bought this gun instead dropping an additional $150-200 for a GAMO.Pros:

Great value for the price.

By Squirrelsmakememad from KC, MIssouri on December 13, 2011
Slightly heavier than I'd be used to for small game. However, without much site set up on the scope at all, my very first shot at a squirrel from a good18 yards (after one practice shot to check the scope) Got a neck to body shot on a squirrel fairly high up in the tree and took it out. Very pleased with this, and obviously has good luck. Not much I'd change, has really good power, easy brake barrel and is a great looking air-rifle, Would recommend to anyone. Thanks.Pros:
Accuracy, Power, looks,Cons:
nothing really, a tad heavier than I expected, but it's a built in weight like some of my real hunting rifles. This is not a toy by any means.I would recommend this item to a friend.
Inaccurate at first initial use..

By John from New Hampshire on December 6, 2011
Not accurate at first use. May need to thorough put it through "break in" period. Instruction states up to 200 shots to "break in"It is hard to believe all the 5 star positive reviews, which do NOT state the need for break in period. At this "break in" period, the air rifle IS INACCURATE.
I will need to update when completed the 200 shots, and continue to adjust sights.
Have not tried the scope yet.
The air rifle seems very well made, and it packs a punch. It also seems louder than .22 ruger long rifle.
Great gun

By Dillon Calvert from Moreno Valley, CA on November 25, 2011
This gun is quality made. It feels solid in your hands, not flimsy and fragile. It has plenty of bullet velocity to take down any small game, but bigger game (goats & pigs) are possible with a well placed head shot. The iron sights are deadly accurate, and the scope is equally as deadly. Great gun for little money.Pros:
PowerfulQuality Made
Cons:
No arm sling includedHeavy
I would recommend this item to a friend.
This gun is great

By Mike from New York on November 24, 2011
Everyone is sayin "oh the scope sucks" no it doesnt. use lock tight on the screws and it wont move or just make it really tight i just started shooting it again after not using it for a (i didnt know how to adjust the trigger) i adjusted it so theres no drag until the second stage. with out the scope being sighted in it still shoots great. If you want iron sights, rip the old ones off and order some new ones. If the scope still doesnt stay good with lock tight get a rail mount.Pros:
Prett much everythingI would recommend this item to a friend.
Pretty good but.....

By Squirrel Hunter from America on November 14, 2011
I got this air rifle a year ago on sale for 100$ to hunt squirrels at my house with and I've so far killed 5 squirrels 2 rabbits and many many chipmunks that got into our garden. I was impressed with the power and accuracy of this gun even though it could be a little better but I only gave i four stars because the scope that came with it wasn't good and the nice wood stock on the gun was very soft and scratched and got dented very easily, if you would like to know I replaced the scope with a simmons 22 mag. scope 3-9x32 for 50$ at dicksporting goods i would recomend this scope to anyone with this gun it is perfect.Pros:
accuratepowerful
good for small game and pests
Cons:
soft wood stock dents ans scatches easilybad scope
I would recommend this item to a friend.

Scope is crap, front sights the same, Buy a new scope or sight the open sights in. Fair price, hi velocity, pointed pellets drill throu squirrels no expansion it goes too fast. Buy the wadcutter or hollow point. Great gun but easily scratched needs oiling often if hunted with oftenVantage gun

By grouse hunter on July 23, 2011
This gun is amazing. I dialed it in at 33 yards and can hit the center of a ammo can repeadedly. I plan to shoot rabbits, squirel, coons, and fox with it. I've shot 7 grouse and 4 quail with it. Wooden stock is amazing. Reloads very fast. The thing is a freak'in awsome! But be careful. This thing will kill a man at close range. Shoot Strait!P.S. Joe has his head up his @$$.
accuracy

By leeroy on March 2, 2011
first of all @ nate the great: if the sight drifted an inch u would be in troubleand it is an extremely accurate airgun
Good value

By kturkey on February 1, 2011
Very impressed with the accuracy of this gun. Have not had the problems some of the reviewers had. The scope really can't move if mounted properly, have fired over 300 shots without a problem. The optics could be a little better but what can you expect for the price? The Gamo Rockets pattern best out of mine, 1/4" groups at 25 yards. Have tried 5 different types of pellets the worst was 1/2" at 25 yards. Gamo red fire were a close second, almost same point of impact.

By nate the great on December 12, 2010
what a great rifle!!3/4 inch 5 shot groups at 25 yds
923.9 fps av. with 7.9gr pellets, almost 15ft-lbs
some reviewers say the scopes on theirs were trash, well this one has lasted over 1000shots, hasn't drifted an inch!!!
the sights worked well, so you dont need a scope, but i recommend one on any hunting air rifle because a precise shot is needed
my final take: the vantage works perfect for what its intent is, a powerful rifle to make an impact on your target, but not your wallet(pun intended) this rifle will easily take care of a squirrel, rabbit, or even groundhog
so if you see one, buy one, they may not stay in stock long, and they are worth the money!!!
Outstanding rifle

By David on November 30, 2010
Great gun, well made, extremely accurate and very powerful!Awesome

By Jonathon on October 29, 2010
this gun is the bomb. i have shot everything up to a rabbit and i know it can kill more because a rabbit is nothing.but the scope is a little weak for the gun so i am getting a new one.very powerful. fun to shootsweet gun!!

By tuckeyman on October 10, 2010
I shot a 3 rabbits, 1 fox, 3 coons! I can plink cans at 115 ft. Radical gun and nice price too.Remington Vantage

By Bob in Colorado on May 31, 2010
With the high price of long gun ammo, I decided to buy an air rifle just to keep up my skills. I didn't want a toy, nor did I want to spend a small fortune, so I did some research and ended up with the Vantage.I have been very pleasantly surprised with this rifle.
It is very accurate and much more powerful than I expected. I have a range in the basement where I shoot my old Crosman pellet pistol. My back stop is 1/2 particle board which is fine for the pistol. The Vantage blew through the particle board and through the wall behind it.
Needless to say, I had to build a new backstop.
This gun is a blast and worth every single penny it cost. I am considering buying a second one just to have one with and one without a scope.
Do not let the kids play with this rifle. It is not a toy and it isn't your dad's bb gun.

By calebjudy on March 11, 2010
this gun is verry good i dig the wood stock but i wish they would put a scope stop on itAccuracy

By Jeff on March 4, 2010
8 kills (house-eating tree rats) 5 of them were 1 shot 1 kill, 1 miss. All shots from 60 to 100ft. We are able to shoot tin cans at 120 feet without missing. The Crossman Premium pellets all go right through every kill. I agree that this is really built for hunting and needs adult supervision. Hard to imagine a better gun. Maybe if it were a little lighter... but you would have to give up the great wood stock.Great gun

By Borat on February 13, 2010
This gun is amazing. It sounds like a .22 rifle, louder infact. I already killed 4 rabbits BUY ITgreat gun

By shane on December 11, 2009

By t dog on December 2, 2009
amazing gun. a little on the loud and heavy side, but very accurate. i am able to shoot pretty tight groupings from 30 meters. i would definitely recommend it.Wow.

By Pistol Pete on October 10, 2009
Wow. this gun surprised me right off the bat. Loaded and shot. the first shot sounded like a .22 shell and smoke came out of the barrel from the oil I imagine. Not so loud after a few shots. Good kick. Scope kinda stinks. Really tough getting it zeroed. The sights are pretty dead on and easy to see. Really bright. Got this on sale for $120.00 and worth every cent. I was looking at the Benjamin that shoots at up to 1,500 fps for $299.00 and decided this was a better value for the money and for how much I would be using it. Glad to hear it takes care of those pesky Tree Rats. They all hid from me today. Tomorrow morning then, heh heh heh, Good quality, nice weight, the trigger could be a little lighter as far as action goes, I'll try the adjustment for it tomorrow too. Don't want to shoot in the dark. Be safe. This is not a toy by any means.remington vantage

By hunt on August 23, 2009
this air rifle is awesome i saw it on sale so i bought it because my old air rifle broke. shot it it was very powerful my dad was surprisedLove it!!

By Mark J. on August 9, 2009
This is one fun air rifle and money well spent. Extremely accurate at 50 meters, it packs a hell of a punch and the sights are very nice. I use it to relax in the back yard, to stay in practice for good sight picture and proper trigger pull. The weight and design are nice, so is the price. I would recomend this to anyone who enjoys shootiing, target practice and smackin tree rats. Just please be SAFE because Stupid hurts and with this air rifle it could kill you or some one else.
Remington Vantage

By Alex on July 20, 2009
This gun is advertised at 1200 fps with lead free pellets and I believe it! This rifle comes with very crisp and easily viewable fiber optic sights that are ideal for close to medium range shooting of small game. The scope that was included (4X32mm Centerpoint) for me was not very good and I thought had too little power for the gun, so I mounted a centerpoint 3-9x32mm instead, which was sighted in very easily. The hardwood stock on the gun is absolutely gorgeous and very smooth and durable. For me, the gun is very light, easy to maneuver and handle, and shoulders very nicely. At first, the gun is pretty loud for a springer, but it quiets down as the gun becomes more broken in with each shot. Outstanding accuracy at all distances (I had consistent dime-sized groups out to 30 yards). The trigger is two-stage adjustable for your shooting preference and it breaks very nicely. The gun has a little bit of a kick to it (as do all springers) but that should definetly NOT be a problem in the accuracy department. It is extremely powerful (I took out a coon at 30 yards easily--even though its only a .177!!!) so be extremely careful! I highly recommend this gun to any airgunner for hunting, target shooting, or good ol' fashioned plinking!!!awesome gun!

By MR on June 30, 2009
This gun with a little time spent and the right ammo, Is dead on, I sighted mine in at 40 yds, but I dropped a bird off a powerline at 60 yds, my friend couldnt belive it, now he owns one! nice clear scoop, good stock, wish it was high gloss though. awesome power, shot thew a coffe can ant than threw 3/8 plywood at 30 feet, but look out this is not a toy, and is slightly loud, but over all great strong gun!best gun ever

By jack on June 27, 2009

my brother bought one of these. he killed 30 squirels with it. this gun is amazing.WOW

By Chris on April 13, 2009
First thing first..... this gun is NOT a toy. I bought this thing thinking maybe I could let my son shoot it, but wow is it powerful. He has a Daisy powerline 880 and I figured I'd get something with a little more kick, and so I did. The stock is great on this thing and it is far lighter than the crossman x1000. I wasn't sure what to expect at first so the barrel seemed a bit hard to break all of the way, but pushing that kind of power I guess it would be. When I took my first shot with it my jaw hit the floor. I set up an indoor range for the 880 with 1 1/4" drywall backing. This rifle blew right thru it like it was nothing. This thing is every bit as loud as my Ruger 10/22, so don't expect a quiet shot out of it. I'd imagine you could take down a decent sized animal with a well placed shot out of this thing. While it took me by surprise, I'm not gonna lie, I LOVE IT!! Will definitely recommend to anyone that asks. Probably the best $130 I've spent in quite a while.to loud

By curt on April 4, 2009
i bought this thinking it would sound like a pump pelet gun its louder than a 22 seems to be worth money would recamend if noise isnt an issueRemington 1200

By Nick on March 9, 2009
This is by far the most powerful pellet rifle I have ever shot. I experimented with many targets and it went thru 18 inches of cardboard and a 2 sided bedroom door(haha)..Great penetration and scope is very clear.Looking forward to many years of service.Great stock also.guns

By Tuckeyman on November 30, -0001
Have had my gun for longer now and i have realived the front sights adjusting screws fall out and you lose them in the field. The stock scratches very easily but is very fast with Crosman SSP ammo. I have clocked (ha) it at 1160 fps average with it and 970 fps with lead (usually, with hollowpoints), but is 1010 average with wadcutter ammunition. The trigger pull is very long compared to my brother's Gamo SOCOM Carbine. The interworkings overrule the outers. Good, accurate shots with it and not much recoil. See you again,
Tucker
