I shot all these in a Crosman 2260 (Sheridan 2260MB). They had a true trajectory at anything less than 25 yards (which is furthest I shot). I think it is a good pellet for a lower power gun such as a CO2 power-plant. I only shot at a target. Groups were excellent at 10yd; ~0.5". I did not try to group at 25yd. I did not check the whole rifling deterioration. I will do shortly. I'll comment if I can see something notable. I would loved to have used a chrony, but I haven't one. I checked NO on recommendation until I confirm a yes is the way to go. I easily could move to YES with confirmation there is no rifling reduction.

Pros
groups well with a lower power gun and ~10yd.

Cons
pretty expensive.

Super fast when shot out of my Benjamin trail NP. It almost sounds like you dry-fired the gun. I can consistently fire one inch three shot groups at 75 feet!

Pros
Super flat trajectory at long distance. Deadly to squirrels at close range.

Cons
They don't have a lot of knockdown power after 60-70 feet. This is probably due to the .7 tenths of a gram weight.

These pellets destroyed my beeman .22. The smoothness of the round completely took the rifling out of my barrel. Now when putting a regular pellet in it your grouping is about the size of a tractor tire. In another post, someone said something about the jacket coming off, it's supposed to on impact. The jacket just helps the flight of the round.

Pros
Hard penetrating hits.

Cons
Smooths out the grooves in your rifle, completely ruins the weapon.

I wanted to test its penetration so I used a scrap piece of oak flooring. For comparison I shot a Gamo Raptor as well. The raptor only dented the oak and turned sideways, the RWS HVP drove in straight with the back of the pellet flush to the board.

This pellet works fine in targets. Penetration is ok, but the [bullet] likes to separate from the plastic skirt, upon impact. That might not be an effective hunting pellet.

Pros
Chambers good Accuracy fine Higher velocity.

Cons
Too pricey for that many. Penetration is questionable due to separation. it may not be a good hunting pellet.

THEY ARE NOT LIKE DRY FIRING IN MY GUN AS THEY FIT WELL(SNUG) AND IF YOU THINK THAT CRACK SOUND YOU HEAR IS THE PELLET BREAKING THE SOUND BARRIER GENERALLY ACCEPTED TO BE 1030-1150 FPS.==IF YOUR GUN HAS A BARREL ON THE UPPER LIMIT OF SIZE FOR CALIBER(JUST LIKE A FIREARM) THERE ARE SPEC.LIMITS UPPER AND LOWER END OF THE SPECTRUM THE GUN I'LL MADE RIGHT BEFORE YOURS HAD A SMALLER BORE AS ALL TOOLS WEAR DOWN THE MORE THEY ARE USED!!===IF THEY SLIDE DOWN BARREL YOU COULD BE SLAMING THE PISTON-SPRING OR NITRO IN TO THE FACE OF THE BREACH-DO SOME REASEARCH AND CHECK BACK==EVEN MAYBE SLUG YOUR BARREL-TO DETERMINE THE REAL SIZE INSTEAD OF COMPLAINING==LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING THE RESULT OF "slugging"YOUR BARREL--FOR THE REASON THEY SLIDE IN OR OUT OF YOUR BBL.==GOOD LUCK GODSPEED

Pros
DID RAISE THE VELOCITY BUT AT THE EXPENCE OF LONG RANGE PENETRATION LIGHTER WEIGHT=LESS RETAINED ENERGY AT DISTANCE LONGER THAN 25YDS.

Cons
PENETRATION IS GREAT AT SHORT RANGE BUT IT SHEDS ENERGY FASTER THAN A LEAD PELLET NORMAL WEIGHT--DISTANCE MEANS HEAVIER PELLETS TO CARRY ENERGY TO TARGET==BASIC PHYSICS

I'll be (not so brief!) Bought a new Cal. 22 RWS 460 Mag and approximaletly $60.00 worth of various ammunition; try to find the best shooting bullet for the gun. Could not resist in buying a 100 rounds of Hyper Velocity RWS pellets; green sabot with a non lead tip. Well folks, non of the hyp is justified! The pellets are undersized to the extend that they fall out of the chamber if I tip the gun slighlty updard during the loading process; which most likely is the reason for the most dismal grouping performance over all bullets I purchased. Penetration? Try the phone-book test and know that you wasted your money on that level as well. RWS, I am most disppointed! Herb

Wow-wished I would have known it was like a dry fire in RWS48. After shooting a couple of these my accuracy went away. Hope I didnt ruin my gun

Are these rounds accurate over 250 yards?

asked patrick

Can't be. Far too light. But beyond that what kind of accuracy are you looking for. Most rifle rounds have a hard time holding 1" groups at that distance. Typical hunting bullet might be 80 grains so about 5 grams. These are well under 1 gram.
