A totally recoilless, spring piston airgun seemed little more than a dream before the recent appearance of the Model 54. In order to realize this goal the engineers spent years experimenting with different systems until they created this mechanical marvel. Simple but durable, the 54 uses a floating action riding on rails to achieve a totally recoiless system that stands up to the pounding of our 900 fps system. Not only does this arrangement prevent transmission of felt recoil to the shooter, it also permits the rifle to excel in the accuracy department. When the rifle is fired, the action moves back lightly within the stock, absorbing the recoil, and permitting the pellet to exit the barrel before any of the spring vibration affects its travel. This system dramatically improves the accuracy potential of this magnum air rifle, making it a first class choice for either long range pest control or the precise demands of field target shooting. This side lever cocking magnum rifle's other features include adjustable trigger, adjustable rear sight, scope rail, Monte Carlo stock with cheek piece and checkering, and an automatic safety. Lifetime warranty.

Rugged build and weighty with a nice balance. Great accuracy from standing shots and even better from a rest.
Was able to shoot some nice tight groups with consistent accuracy over a variety of distances.
This gun has decent power although more power wouldn't hurt.
The only negative was that the supplied scope was a poor fit and would work loose and would not lock down solidly. Requires shims etc to firm the thing up.
Overall it is an excellent gun, excellent accuracy but don't try and drag this around with you all day as it is very heavy as far as airguns go and probably the heaviest air rifle I have ever used but you can't help loving it.
Buy one!

Solidly built gun with outstanding accuracy. I've gotten excellent groups from it just using the iron sights and have yet to mount a scope. Sights are, however, a bit difficult to see depending on light conditions and target. A peep sight would also be a strong addition. This rifle is just fun to shoot though. RWS pellets have all grouped very well. The rifle is on the heavy side if you plan on carrying it around all day but shoots great off of a rest which can't be said of many springers. It's also a tad slower on loading than a break barrel but I think all of the tradeoffs are worth it. I want another one in .177 so I'm already saving up. You'll never be sorry you got it. If you're just going to get one then get the harder hitting .22.

Great air rifle. Accurate and powerful while fun to shoot with no recoil. Use RWS Super-H or Beeman Crow Magnum pellets for best accuracy. RWS Superpoints are not as accurate. Only objection is that this is a heavy rifle.

Wow, I have had a lot of air rifles but this is the best of the best. The recoil signature is the best selling feature. This set up is a dandy. I recomend the Beeman Crow Magnum or the Kodiak pellets.
