RWS / Umarex Model 850 CO2 Air Rifle- Umarex says this is the most powerful CO2 Air Rifle in the world! German quality and loaded with features, the RWS 850 AirMagnum is so much fun to shoot that you'll have a hard time putting it down.Let's start with the all-weather stock. You can take this gun anywhere and not worry about a fragile finish, because it's made from a durable polymer. It's ambidextrous, too, with a raised cheekpiece on both sides of the Monte Carlo stock! This CO2 rifle uses an 88-gram AirSource cartridge, giving you about 200 shots before you have to change cartridges. The fiber-optic sights will help you acquire your target, but feel free to mount a scope on the 11mm dovetail rail. (Umarex also makes a dovetail-to-Weaver mount) The checkering on the pistol grip and forearm will help you get a good grip while you plow shot after shot from this 8-shot repeater. This gun is everything you ever hoped for in a CO2 repeater!
The fun never stops with this rifle! Ideal for plinking, shooting targets and spinners.

RWS / Umarex Model 850 CO2 Air Rifle- Combo
August 23, 2008
RWS / Umarex Model 850 CO2 Air Rifle- Combo I purchased a RWS / Umarex Model 850 CO2 Air Rifle- Combo in .177. This included the afore mentioned rifle with two (2) Eight (8) round cylinder type clips, an RWS 6 X 42 MM Scope with a 30 MM tube with RWS two (2) post tall solid scope mounts, and a Muzzle Brake. The Rifle in basic configurations has Fiber optic (Tru Glo) style sites and is powered by 88 Gram CO2 cartridge. Upon receiving the rifle I first shot the rifle with the open sites and considered them average to below average on a rifle with the RWS Umarex name on it. The sites are plastic, have no micrometer adjustments, and are anchored by on one (1) screw Front or Rear with no reference pin. Additionally the rifle I received only one (1) of the three (3) holes drilled for the sight mounts front and rear were taped for screws. I have since removed the front and rear sites and taped all the holes to the same screw pitch and have installed plug screws in all six (6) holes. The scope it self is branded under RWS name and is Mil dot markings with LED reticle lighting. Over all the scope is bright and clear and has excellent short range parallax. The bases that came with the scope are RWS branded and were attached to the scope in the box. The Bases are 11mm Dove tail type that have pins to lock into indents on the Dove Tail rail to hold the mounts in place due to recoil if the rifle was a 'springer'. It should be noted that I had to file the pins down to get a proper fit of the bases on the scope mounting rail. It also should be noted that the bases that I received were not see thought. I am not sure how effective or needed the muzzle brake is however it does improve the overall look of the Rifle Scope Combo. With regards to the 88 Gram CO2 cartridge for power while they due provide a nice multi-shot CO2 disposable solution. The cartages are expensive and I have been able to find them online. Umarex makes a adapter for $100.00 that will allow two (2) twelve (12) gram cartridges in place of the 88 Gram cartridge. To me that solution is too expensive. I have found a good alternate solution and that requires a trip to the local paint ball store and a nine (9) ounce CO2 tank. This does require leavening off the fore arm cover sleave. I also have found an adapter that allows me to reuse the 88 Gram CO2 tank. The adapter I found for the 88 Gram disposal tank will allow me to put the fore arm cover back on. Overall Impression of the Rifle Combo is 8 out of 10. My mark downs are for open sights and 88 gram CO2 cartridges, along with lack of air gun oil and a sample of pellets or CO2 cartridge.
