The most popular rifle sold by RWS, this German rifle will keep you shooting accurately and powerfully for decades. While it doesn't have some of the frills that more expensive guns have, it goes head-to-head where it really counts! The well-balanced hardwood ambidextrous stock makes it easy to hold and shoot the RWS 34, and the raised cheekpiece gives you that extra edge. Quality is evident in other places, too: a two-stage adjustable trigger, a completely adjustable rear sight and a finely rifled barrel. No need to worry about cocking difficulty, as that's where this rifle really shines (just 33 lbs.). Both calibers are ideal for plinking, paper targets and spinners.Like to hunt? The .22 cal. should be your choice for small game and pests. If you're a serious airgunner on a budget, the RWS 34 was made for you! RWS is known for standing behind their guns, and their warranty has always been viewed as the best in the business. Lifetime warranty.

Shoots Low
August 8, 2014
Initial impression was that this airgun has exceptional workmanship - everything just feels tight and well put together. Based on other reviews, the first thing I did was to remove, clean, and reinstall most of the screws using Loctite, cleaned the barrel, added a couple of drops of spring lube since there were lots of complaints about receiving 'dry' RWS 34's. Then I started shooting at 10 yards to sight it in. First shot was a full foot low, using the iron sights. By the time I was done, I'd raised the rear sight to the point the screw adjustment came out - still shot about 5 inches low. Strange. Then I installed the Hawke scope and RWS 'droop-compensated' mount. Bottom line is that even maxed out, the POI was about 4 inches low. I was using shooting bags to rest the rifle on, and the patterns were pretty good, just consistently low - if I compensated by raising the aim point 2 dots through the scope, I could then hit the bull fairly consistently. RWS told me to shoot more pellets through it until it 'stabilized'. And then I noticed that the stock was cracked for the 3" between the front of the trigger guard and the cocking slot. Wow, this is NOT what I expected from Diana! AirGun Depot was great about taking it back for replacement, which was nice. The only reasons I didn't switch to a different kind of rifle are outlined in the 'pro's' section below. Strangely, I probably would recommend this to a friend, depending on how the replacement shoots.
Pros:
The T06 trigger is outstanding, better than the Savage Accutrigger I have on my 17HMR, and better than anything I've ever shot except very high-end match rifles. The Hawke scope is also very nice, great optics and reticle. I may mount it on the 17HMR just to see how well they work together.
Cons:
Lack of Quality control. I'll probably never know exactly what was wrong with this gun, but even rudimentary QC should catch something like this, that goes for the POI and cracked stock.

Super accurate, solidly built, well balanced shooter
February 15, 2014
I've had my RWS 34 for about a week now and shot approximately 100 rounds through it . Here is my first impression. The rifle: The first thing I did was clean the barrel, I highly recommend you do this with every air rifle you buy. It took me less than 10 shots to zero the scope and I was getting dime sized groups at 10 yards right away so I went back to 25 yards and still got dime sized groups consistently with very few flyers. The accuracy of this rifle puts my nitro venom to shame. It's lighter than my nitro venom as well, I realize that the rws costs more than the nitro venom but you can see and feel where the extra money was spent. This rifle has a great trigger too, very smooth and consistent. I didn't need to adjust it, it was great, out of the box. The stock is made of very nice, grainy wood but the color of the stain is inconsistent, not a big deal but significant enough to mention on this review. Also I have viewed reviews that complained about these rifles being shipped with dry spring chambers, in my case this turned out to be true. My rifle has started to make a slight honking sound similar to a goose when I cock it. But spring chamber oil fixes this easily so if you buy one of these rifles, be sure to buy the spring chamber oil as well. The scope mount: I've seen negative reviews about this mount stating that it did not hold the scope firmly causing it to slip and slide. This was not the case with mine. It tightened firmly and has held the scope solidly for 100 rounds without the need to tighten the screws or zero the scope again. So far, so good. The scope: VERY NICE. It provides a very clear, bright, focused picture at short and long range. The illuminated mil dot is very nice also, your choice, green or red but both look great and I hope to be in hunting situation that gives me the chance to use it soon.
Pros:
- Beautiful classic design - Super Accurate - Solid German Construction - Great trigger I like this rifle so much that I sold my nitro venom and will surely purchase another RWS to replace it. And although some have complained that it is under powered, it has plenty of power for hunting small game. I've had no problems getting 1 shot kills with mine. I highly recommend this rifle.
Cons:
Minor cons are - the color of the wood stain is inconsistent - the spring chamber was shipped dry

Very Nice Rifle - Minor Issues
February 9, 2014
The fit and finish of the rifle is great. The combo is heavy so I would not recommend this for a smaller child. The FPS is low but FPS is not everything. Cocking effort is average for springer. Chrono showed 600 FPS with RWS Super Dome. I did have some issues with my order but AGD will hopefully make it right. The box has Umarex references all over it, so I was bit disconcerted with this. I have an original Model 34 in .177 and the rifles do vary in quality. (JM$.02) Shoot Safe!
Pros:
Great Looking, Accurate
Cons:
FPS, I dont think it compares to the original RWS Model 34.

This air rifle has a lot to teach me.
November 15, 2013
Like most, I read the reviews, watched the videos and dug into my wallet when I came across this kit here on Airgun Depot. I've been putting about half a tin of pellets through this rifle daily and am just now beginning to get a sense of what this beauty has to teach me. This is definitely an air gun that teaches a fellow how to shoot properly and it takes some serious practice to begin to get a feel for. This rifle demands a delicate touch and often I think it would be happier to shoot itself without my interference but that's just because I haven't shot in so long and this is my first ever springer air rifle. The artillery hold is an absolute necessity and the lighter this rifle can be held the happier it is. Only now am I beginning to see the fruits of my labors being rewarded with tighter and tighter groupings every time I shoot as I move farther and farther away from the targets. The sense of accomplishment with a job well done is one of the greatest I have ever experienced when I remember to do everything right and am rewarded with a small group at 35 yards. I can't wait till I can do the same at 50 yards and even farther distances in the days, weeks, months and years to come.
Pros:
This lead spitter will learn ya to shoot good and proper.
Cons:
It can take a while before a fellow learns to shut up and listen to what this rifle is trying to tell you.
