Description - RWS 48:
When RWS first introduced the Model 48, we expected it to become a
classic. What was unexpected was its rapid rise to classic status among knowledgeable
air gunners. At 900 FPS , this rifle propels pellets at .22 rim-fire velocities!
This tremendous power is generated by the use of a very robust spring piston
power plant cocked by a side lever action. The action is mounted into an extended
beech stock to reduce felt recoil and to aid in achieving accuracy potential.
Not designed for the faint of heart, this is one impressive air arm, both in
performance and presence. It fulfills its purpose as a potent, full-size sporting
airgun suitable for either pest control or field target shooting, yet it does
so with both balance and grace. The substantial one-piece stock allows for comfortable
offhand shooting and adds to the overall sensation that the Model 48 is a force
to be reckoned with. The rifle is fitted with a finely rifled, fixed barrel
system loaded via sliding breech opening. Its full accuracy potential can be
realized by the use of a quality RWS airgun scope mounted to the scope rail.
Other standard features include an adjustable trigger, an adjustable rear sight,

Great fixed barrel springer - Wow

Great accuracy and very good power. Nice compact rifle with a balanced feel. Its' balance lets you forget its weight. Cocking effort fine for the power. I also have a RWS 34P which is nice but I cannot quite get the accuracy with the 34P that I can out of the RWS 48.AIRGUN DEPOT CUSTOMER SERVICE IS WONDERFUL. I received a rare RWS 48 with an accuracy issue and they replaced it very quickly with great service and a smile. THIS COMPANY IS CUSTOMER FOCUSED WITH GREAT PRICING AND GREAT SERVICE. THEY GET FIVE STARS ALSO....
Pros:
Accuracy with power and quality workmanship.Plenty of tuning options - I will keep mine stock until it wears out.
Cons:
Nothing. Don't give up on springers you just need to find the hold.I would recommend this item to a friend.

have model 48 about three months now and after about 50 rounds it just keeps getting better..........................i got 14 squirrels up to about 55yds the first two weeks .....most head shoots .....real clean........it's built well and just feels right.......have about a tight dime pattern at 30yds.......not bad for a shaky ol 64 year ol guy!!Pros:
built solid.... consistant groups......it just feels rightCons:
needs rings for a strapI would recommend this item to a friend.
my first RWS air rifle

This is a beautifully made air rifle. This is a good combo. I have no problem with the scope that it comes with. This is also a very accurate gun. As I was zeroing the scope, it made a very small group on the target. I had a problem with my first gun, but airgundepot.com had corrected the problem in a relatively reasonable amount of time. This is a great gun for the price.update on the m48

Today is the 22nd of June 09, I'd like to let anyone who my be interested in buying this combo package to do so. The Leepers scope is perfectly suited to this rifle. I rezeroed my rifle at 30yrds and the mil dots seem to be at 30yrds as well, I haven't even fired 100rnds thru the rifle yet and I've already taken three of our floppy eared friends two at 90yrds and one at 65 yrds with one shot to the head and yes I said ninety yards with crossman pointed pellets and they completely passed thru the heads of these critters at that distance, so if anyone is wondering about the power or accuracy and quality of these rifles Airgun Depot has put together an excelient combo package on this one buy one while you can.rws m48

I got my 48 today and I just couldn't begin to tell you what a good deal these guns are for the money. I bought the shooters kit for 399$ in 22cal and believe me you get alot for your money. Exelent quality, I have several RWS rifles and can't tell you enough good things about them accuracy,power.and craftsmanship. You get it all with these guns,my new 48 sighted in in five shots at 10yrds with crossman copperheads pointed pellets,I've fired six other types of pellets all with good results. This rifle is a tack drive just like the other RWS guns I have. I do have a few Bams a 21 in 22cal garbage compared to the 48 I found this out the hard way dumped a ton of money into the 21 tryin to make it a 48, it cost me 5 scopes so far do to recoil the 48 is smoth as glass in comparison so buy a 48 save yourself alot of grief an money,good deal on this gun thanks guys.
