Smith & Wesson M&P 40 Black .177 Co2 BB Pistol

I absolutely love it! great weight, very accurate up to 30 yards (depending on shooter). I have put it thru quite rigorous testing and its passed with flying colors! i use the oil as recommended (use it liberally, i even put it on the magazines and they slide in and out much smoother) and each co2 cartridge has lasted me nine magazines of nineteen rounds each. i plan on buying the earth brown version right now! all that's left to say is get as many bb's, co2 cartridges, and magazines that you can afford because you won't want to put it down.

This is my first BB gun, but it still packs a punch. The gun overall is pretty simple, as BB Pistols ARE. My friend has a Pellet one, but his isn't nearly as good as this one, but he paid the same price for it. So far, I'm quite satisfied. I've heard things about the gun messing up without the special Oil (Find it in the Accessories, made by Crosman), but I didn't pay attention when I was ordering and did not purchase it, yet, I've used over 3 CO2's and the gun's fine. Not the best review, but I would say out of most the guns for this price, this is probably better in Velocity (Power/Speed), Accessibility & looks!

I am a big fan of customer reviews and every one I read about the S&W M&P 40 led me to believe I would not go wrong buying this gun, except the one about the co2 leaking out the barrel, which is just what happened to me. I'm 58 years old and not a stupid person. I followed directions to a T and still listened to my money getting hissed away as the gas leaked out before I could even shoot a full clip of BBs. The aforementioned reviewer suggested a piece of clear tape placed on top of the powerlet before inserting into the gun. If I can manage to calm down and try this before I throw the gun away, and it works, I will update my review. However, for the time being I would suggest to people not to believe everything they read as far as the reviews go.

I bought this for my wife to learn how to shoot. Much cheaper and easier to find ammo. An afternoon with this and she was hitting center mass with the real thing two days later.

Exactly the same size and feel as the real M&P, even though it is a little lighter. You can't beat this for setting up a practice range in your garage or basement! Fits your holster just like your real one. Trigger isn't even that much different.

I never imagined out of my 6 BB/Pellet pistols, this one would end up being my most accurate by far, and my favorite as well. Will shoot up to 120 rounds without changing the Co2, accurately and the last as fast as the first shot. At first, I didn't care for the trigger pull, but once I got the Crosman Pellet gun and got used to having to pull a little harder. I got used to it. You get to know when the bullet is going to come out, so when to let your breath out and aim straight, and believe me, it will shoot where you aim it every time. I have an inside machine for plinking and can hit the targets every shot with the Smith. I also had a mouse come out that had ate a little poison, and I hit him once in the head and once in the gut, and he died right there. My friend was there and told me to pick my most accurate pistol. I told him "Give me that Smith" and I can not only shoot targets and a poisoned mouse, from 15-20 feet, whatever you point at. I could not believe I would like this gun so much after what I paid for it.

It is not a bad gun for the price. It is pretty accurate and shoots plenty fast. However, it misfires often and the magazine tends to fall out. You have to be sure the hold the bottom of the handle to avoid that.

I've had this gun for about 3 months and it was worth every penny I love it its really strong i destroyed a can of dr pepper in 1 shot from a good distance, its also accurate,attractive,and the perfect weight and this gun is definitely durable because i have the tenancy to drop stuff and it still works great no matter how many times it gets body slammed. However it has let me down once, after about my fifth time putting in co2 i screwed it in and all the gas came shooting out the barrel but it was an easy fix because, if you have this gun or are getting it If It leaks just take some clear tape and put it over the top of the co2 and put it in the gun I promise It'll work but overall this is a great gun.If u have any questions comment.

Great starter pistol for a 10 year old who is learning to handle a weapon and learn how to shoot. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a great reliable gun. We ran 1000's of bb's through it already and it never jammed and it is very accurate and powerful. The next purchase is the laser sight and target trap.

i just bought this gun and i love it so far. I put my 1st CO2 canister in it and got OVER 135 shots then quit for the night... thats the most ive ever gotten out of a CO2 gun.!.!.!

if your a good shot you should be able to hit a quater from at least 30 yards even though its a smooth bore

We have been very pleased so far with this pistol.

i got this gun over ten months ago and still works like the day i buoght it. ive shot at cans at around 100ft in coswinds of 20mph and i still hit them. all of the outer parts of the gun are made of good quality plastic the triger the sights everything. the internal parts however are made of steel aluminum and other metals. the gun is not ambidextrous. the safety switch is located on the right side obove the triger. the sights or fixed on the gun not adjustible but accurate. the triger is a double triger. the triger pull is not that hevy and a little long. that's because it cycles the round during the triger pull. i can shoot 6 rounds per secund with this gun. the drop out magazing si the same one as the berreta Elite ll crosman c31 c11 c21 and c41 pistols. the handle slides back revealing the co2 chamber and when it slides back into place it hides the co2 screw. the gun shoots very strong and very accurate at close and long range. it shoots so accurate i dont even use the sights. if your not accurate with this pistol pratice some more. and if your still not accurate with this gone practice even harder. and if you still cant get accurate shots its either 3 things. 1 you have a difective gun which i very highly doubt it. 2 your not even trying and. 3 you simply suck at shooting. the feel of the gun is very comfortable. would i recommend this gun to anybody i alredy did. over all great gun very powerfull very accurate and very reliable......small tip leave your co2 cylynder to warm up in the sun just for a little bit not to much for max speed and power.

I have thoroughly enjoyed shooting this pistol. It was purchased for training purposes, and has more than lived up to expectations. It seems to shoot a bit high and to the right, with the occasional thrown shot, but has been a joy to shoot for the first 1,000 shots.

great fun for the few months i got out of it. only used it 20 or 30 times and a seal must be bad cause now the co2 leaks out immediately. A shame cause everyone who shot it loved it including my mom and shes scared of guns but she was hitting cans at 40 ft.. With 30 day return policy i barely got my $s worth and i bought the extra cartridges which was helpful. they r made by crossman so maybe ill try my luck with their version of air pistol.

just got my smith&wesson m&p 40 on saturday its a kool gun to have in my hand it feels just like the real s&w m&p 40 this co2 gun is just like the real one its amzaing to have for proteacting great hand gun thanks airgun depot for all the help

Believe it or not I killed a rattlesnake at about 12 feet with this bb gun! Its pretty accurate at about 30 feet or so. I like it, the trigger is heavy though.

I bought without many expectations, but after a few shots I realized that this airgun is excellent. Pretty solid in its construction, good grip and very accurate for small and medium distances. No doubt an excellent buy.

this is a fine air gun all in all. one Co2 cartridge lasts between 7 and 9 clips. it has excellent accuracy from about 30 yards. only draw back i have found is that it takes alot of pressure to pul the trigger which will throw off your aim having to squeeze that hard. all in all a great gun for begginers or experts.

Good gun. Plenty of power for a pistol with this price tag. I have a crossman with a laser and 550fps, m & p smith and wesson much better at a third of the price

just got this pistol (well the refurbished one) and like the overall quality and feel of it and have seen that it is a much better gun than the daisy powerline 15xt IMHO. they are both rated at the same fps but the s&w mp seems to shoot just a little harder and so far it appeers more accurate,the s&w has a much lighter trigger pull wich really helps increase accuracy and the sighting system on this gun works so well i wonder why they dont put on the real gun?

This is my first bb gun and i am very happy! This gun has weight , power and a great feel. Because of the (480 fps) power the co2 cartridges empty quick but the power of the first few mags is worth it. it will jam if half cocked (1st trigger cock) and cocked again but can be undone by removing mag (the bbs will fall out). GREAT PRICE -this gun blew apart my homemade airsoft range- HAVE FUN BSAF

i bought this gun last easter and i loved it , but then it started to jam every time i put the mag in, the gun is a little light for my taste but it does hav power this guns accuracy is just ok. pros and cons list pro .power.duribilty.price. cons.mags jam every load .wieght little light

i just got this gun today and i have to say, it kicks my Pro77's butt. i totally regret spending my money on that stupid thing. this is the best bb gun ive bought. i mounted a flashlight on it and killed 2 squirells already. thanks umarex!

I loved shooting this thing, a bb got embeded in my garage's 2x4. Had the gun less than a month, never abused and CO2 started leaking like crazy. The canister would empty in about 10 mins, wasted 2 before I confirmed I wasnt doing anything wrong. Ohh yea unless you have lil kid hands screwing co2 in sucks.

i just got this gun today even though i havent tried it on any night time pests i think it will do the trick.

I was hesitant to purchase this gun. I was afraid it would lack power and accuracy. I was seriously wrong. I took a shot at a squirrel approximately 100ft away and it hit him with enough force to make him jump. I fired at the bottom of a water bottle and where it all meets and is really hard the bb went straight through it. This gun also is very comfortable to hold. This is perfect if you are looking for something small and accurate. The clip holds 19 shots and the co cartridge gets about 8 clips through it. You can fire this as fast as you pull the trigger, it will keep up. The only problem I see is it occasionally fires 2 bbs if you are rapid firing. This does not have the weight of a real gun however it does not feel like a plastic toy either. If you are looking for a good value for $40 this is a good buy.

well it is a great gun and its powerful enuf to break glass from 50ft away my brother broke a window that was about 50ft

trust me get this gun it is truely amazing. i have it and the c11 but this gun whoops the c11's butt.amazingly acurate,powerfull,and affordable! plus it a smith & wesson what more could you ask. buy it!!!

This gun is well crafted, the feel of the gun in your hand is just comfortable. The BB magazine is the proven reliable magazine used in many popular BB guns like the Crosman C11. This gun is a little ligher than i prefer but the feel of it makes up for it. There is no lack of power in this gun and CO2 will give you good power for the first 3 magazines. Trigger pull is what i would expect from a double action gun, in the medium range. My gun shot a little low but not enough that i couldn't hit a penny size dot from 25 feet away. The CO2 loads nicely in the handle, but the thumb screw is a little cramped when turning it. For the price you will get a great addition to your collection. Highly recomended!

I purchased this because it is an exaxt copy of the handgun I carried in the USAF. It is not for kids to play with. Unbelievably accurate and powerful. The extra magazines are a good extra item to purchase since it makes reloading quicker.
