With the powerful, spring-piston break-action of the X20, you can propel .22 caliber alloy pellets at a sizzling 1000 fps. The airgun comes with standard fiber-optic front and adjustable rear sights. The fiber-optic inserts—single red front and two-dot, green rear—make target acquisition easy in varying light and weather conditions. All X20 receivers feature an integral dovetail scope-rail. For added security, the air rifle has an automatic, ambidextrous safety, easily accessible on the rear of the receiver. The trigger assembly can be screw-adjusted for second-stage length. The raised, ambidextrous cheek piece lets you shoot comfortably, regardless of hand preference. Checkering on the pistol grip and fore-end ensures that you’ll have a firm grip in wet weather. A rubber butt-pad provides a firm shoulder mount and steady control. Add an extra level of performance by selecting any of the X20 Combo models with factory-mounted, 3-9x40 parallax adjustable rifle scopes. The X20 is ideal for plinking and all kinds of target shooting, and takes the field with sufficient power for pest control and small-game hunting.

Happy but could have been better!
October 27, 2014
I really like the gun and the includes scope works just fine. However, this is the second gun as the first one I ordered had issues. Issue 1: The scope stop screw wasn't set or came loose and the scope and mount slid back against the rail and started peeling back the scope mount on each side. I checked and tightened all the other screws before firing but being my first break barrel gun I didn't think about that screw. Issue 2: The left front inside of the stock was as chewed up where the right side was nicely finished. Issue 3: The windage one the rear open sight had to be adjusted all the way to the left to zero it in which left no more adjustment. Issue 4: The scope adjustment knobs had to be adjusted all the way to the left and down to zero it in after the scope mount slid back to zero it in. Since I really liked the gun and didn't want to wait for an exchange I just took my chances and ordered an other one and sent the first one back for a refund. The second one arrived and the stock had a much darker/warm finish with no noticeable flaws. I checked all screws including the scope stop screw and cleaned the barrel. I put a tin of 500 Crosman hollow point's through it this weekend and it's working great. Hopefully i'll continue to have good luck with it. At 10 meters it's grouping very nicely. Overall great gun but quality control my be an issue.
Pros:
Nice Looking Decent Scope Easy to Cock Shots Straight
Cons:
Possible quality control issues.

Great shooter
September 17, 2014
I have been shooting airguns for 40 years. I mainly own Beemans and RWS. This Stoeger X20 in .22 is a great value for the buck. It will devastate squirrels using the heavy crow magnum pellets. Accuracy is excellent, on par with the RWS. Power delivered by this gun is amazing. Fit and finish...great. Highly recommend.
Pros:
Exceptional power in 22 cal. Scope is great. Accuracy amazing right out of the box ( see cons) below. 1 inch groups at 20 yards.
Cons:
When I first received this gun all screws on optics were loose . Loc tight blue on every screw before taking in field. This is a must. This should be a standard on any firearm.

Great Gun!
September 16, 2014
Ok, I bought this gun as a replacement for my twice returned Benjamin trail. When I got the gun I was greeted by a nice box, and an even better wood stock. Now, lets get down to how this beauty sounds, it is a little louder than most piston gun's but is still quite enough to not PO the neighbors:) The Trigger is a little rough, not to say that you can get used to it. Sine I have received it 4 days ago I did have to tighten down the the scope mount and the stop pin. I have bagged 7,8 doves since I have sighted it in. Very Reliable! ''BUY'' This air rifle!
Pros:
Ok scope and nice open sights
Cons:
Trigger is rough, and the safety is hard to push in at first.

Unbeatable combo

Researched this rifle, followed all the reviews that said buy this rifle you won't regret it and now I am the proud owner of a stoeger x 20 hunter with absolutely no regrets. This rifle can't be beat for quality, price, or features. Just two things I would like to share. I found the artilary hold to not work so well for me with this rifle. If you do make the good choice to buy this gem try holding it tightly and snug into your shoulder. It helps the accuracy quit a bit for me. Secondly, the trigger is not so bad but I agree it is a bit long so I purchased the grt trigger from Charlie da tuna for $33.00 and no regrets there. However, installing this trigger will void your warranty but I took the risk and now I believe I have a $ 400.00 air rifle this thing is the bomb.
Pros:
Great quality, scope is also very good, and fiber optic sights are very nice for those who may want to use open sights. Just an all round good air rifle and POWERFUL!
Cons:
No real dislikes. Trigger is a little long but not really bad.

Its great

This gun is a sleeper!! If you can find a gun as good as this one at two or three times the price, it would be a bargain. Great accuracy right out of the box. I got it grouping inside a dime at about 25 yds after only a couple dozen shots. The scope works very well with small adjustments. The weight and the feel is just top shelf. Heavy weight, good stock and overall finish. I don't know what the velocity is but the .22 seems to have lots of knock down power. Wow, for only $160 it's been my best gun buy this year.
Pros:
I like almost everything about this gun. I may buy another one for my son.
Cons:
If there is one drawback; the trigger is a little too hard. Its a two stage and although I haven't tried it yet, the trigger does have a travel adjustment to second stage, which may help.

Nice gun
May 25, 2012
This is the best air rifle I have ever had! It takes out squirrels like their nothing. I hit a ground squirrel in the head at 30 yards. It dropped like a stone. Today I shot a fox squirrel in the shoulder and it was out with one shot. The gun pushed the pellet all the way through the shoulder blade and came out the other side. This is an amazing gun.
Pros:
it is powerful and accurate
Cons:
Nothing

After a month of reading reviews and researching, I ordered the Stoeger X20 combo in 22 cal. This is my first break barrel, so I dont really have anything to compare it to, but I can't imagine being more pleased with any other gun, especially in this price group. The gun looks and feels to be very high quality, shoots very accurate after sighting in. After sighting it in using the artillery hold like recommended for a springer airgun, I shot it today holding it like I would any other rifle to see how much difference it would make. Much to my surprise it was grouping the same if not better. I had read a review that this gun was not as hold sensitive as others, could not tell any difference in this one. I had a tin of Crosman Premier hollow points for my old Crosman 140, shoots very well with these so will probably stick with them for now. No complaints with airgundepot, ordered the gun last Saturday and received it the following Friday using regular ground freight. Overall, very happy with my purchase.
Pros:
Everything
Cons:
Nothing yet.

Great airgun for the price
March 10, 2012
I was really amazed at the quality of this rifle when I got it. It does not feel cheap! Feels solid in the hands and has some heft to it like a quality rife should. I have the .22 cal and it is POWERFUL. I took out two big fox squirrels with it. The first squirrel I shot was with 28 grain pellet and it dropped like a stone after 2 steps, It was a heart shot. The second squirrel I shot was with a Gamo rocket pellet. The rifle was so powerful that the pellet went through the squirrel's head and out the other side and hit a wooden fence. This was shot at 40 yards. Get this rifle, you will not be let down!
Pros:
power accuracy quality
Cons:
not much but if I had to be picky I would say the trigger pull is a little long, but nothing that really affects shooting. Then again you are getting it for a good price.

Q&A
By Paul Moore from Auckland New Zealand on December 16, 2011
I have been using .177 cal pellets istead of .22 (and tghey fit) should I be using the .22, and whats the differnce (a part from the obvious)

By Staff on December 29, 2011

Answer:
.177 pellets should be very loosly fitting into the barrel. It they are tight, it may be a .177 caliber gun. I would recommend trying some .22 pellets. You will get a lot more power out of your gun and your barrel will stay in better shape.

By tony from madison, WI on December 7, 2011
Is this rifle loud?
By Conor from Sunnyside, WA on February 11, 2012

Answer:
Not really, but still makes a nice pop.

By Jordan from Gloucester, VA on June 7, 2012
If i buy this gun for pest control, should i get the .177 cal or .22 cal?
By Jim from Reno, Nevada on July 28, 2012

Answer:
That depends on what you will be using it for. If your going to be shooting mostly small animals like birds at about 45 + yards go with the .177 because it has greater range (also good for target shooting). On the other hand if you will be shooting bigger prey such as squirrels, racoons, crows, and rabbits go with the .22 because it has much better knock down power. But the .22 has less range than a .177 so if your target is over 30 yards then you will have to aim high. But it will be more accurate due to the heavier bullet so I personally would go with the .22 But in simple terms for anything bigger than small birds go with the .22. If it's no bigger than a starling or robin the .177 will work good enough.
