Powerful, accurate, and well made.

This is the least expensive modern airgun I've purchased, and boy was it worth the money! First, the bad: the trigger isn't great. It is adjustable, but when you shorten the pull, the pull-weight increases. Decreasing the weight increases the pull-length (single screw adjustment, would like to see a Quattro trigger on it, Hatsan!). That said, the trigger is far smoother and better over-all than the standard Crosman trigger! Second, the stock is a little flimsy, especially up near the breech mount screws. It is also significantly hollow (sounding). These complaints could probably be explained away by the gun being pretty darned light (mine weighs in at about 7lbs with scope). Third: the scope stop is way too far forward. I just took it off and used the rear-most screw hole for the scope stop pin in my rear ring. So far, so good...at least until my droop compensator mount arrives. Fourth: the bluing is about as good as the trigger, not great, but better than other low-buck guns I've seen. Fifth: it's a bit louder than expected. Loads of spring twang, and a significant report from the muzzle (especially when shooting JSB Jumbo Monsters!). Ok, the bad is now over, on to the good! The fit and finish of this gun is of a much higher quality than I expected. There are no rough spots, loose fitting pivots or joints, not even any lousy machine marks. The gun shoulders well, and has a comfortable feel over all (I'm 6 feet tall, but have always preferred to keep rifles "in-tight"). The gun has been fairly accurate, even right out of the box. It has smoothed out some in just over 150 shots, but never really felt gritty or crunchy like all my other low-buck guns did. Also, cocking effort is pretty light. Barrel lock-up is positive, and the breech seals up nicely to the air tube. I used the bundled scope with another gun, and put a Centerpoint 3x9 IR scope that I've been hunting with on the Hatsan. The bundled scope is a cheapy, but it seems ok. The rings are kinda light-weight and crappy, but they work. Shooting: this gun likes to be shot! Mine is still breaking in, but it gets pretty tight patterns when I do my part. It seems to like pellets that are a tighter fit in the breach than other guns I've fired, which is good, because I have a few tins of pellets (H&N Field Target Trophy, JSB Jumbo Monsters, RWS Superdomes, etc) that this gun shoots well that my others hate. On the flip side, it also likes my lighter weight and looser fitting JSBs. I did some velocity testing with a few pellets before the gun even had 100 pellets through it, and here are some results: Benjamin 14.3gr HP: High-783.2fps, Low-756.5, Avg-775, ES-26.73, SD-8.06 (sadly, don't group very well) H&N FTT 14.66gr domed: High-773.4, Low-749.9, Avg-762, ES-23.58, SD-6 (nice, tight groups, when I do my part) This is an airgun that is rated at 800 FPS, like many other .22 cal airguns. The difference is: this one nearly reaches it's claimed max fps with lead pellets, not the crappy hobby pellets that other manufacturers use to inflate their claims. I expect these numbers to improve as it finishes breaking-in. In closing, this is a well-made, accurate, powerful, light-weight, easy to handle airgun that costs a heckuva lot less than it should. I would like to see a little more attention to the stock and trigger, otherwise I'd have rated this gun a 5 (or even a 6 out of 5!). That said, this gun is a great value if you like to hunt, but don't have the budget for a higher-end airgun. Hats off to Hatsan!

Accurate and Powerful Bang for the Buck..!!
January 31, 2014
This rifle is well made, the stock is comfortable and the weight is fine for medium size shooters who have at least average of above arm strength, it shoots hard for a rifle in it's price range and mine really seems to like the Crosman premier HP pellets, if you want a solid built springer for an excellent price and from an excellent company such as Airgun Depot, I say you cant go wrong with this rifle, its a keeper in my books.
Pros:
Accurate, Comfortable, Powerful, and just plain fun to shoot....
Cons:
This rifle would shine like crazy if it had a lighter trigger with a much shorter pull, its very smooth but just to heavy and to long in my opinion, NOT a deal breaker by any means because with practice it will get easier to shoot, but that is for sure one thing I would change on this rifle, they should put a nice trigger in this gun and then they could bump the price up $15 - $20 and it would still be a great deal.

Can't beat it for the price
January 5, 2014
I bought this for my girlfriend so she could shoot with me, it's a nice rifle for what I paid for it.
Pros:
price, quality, power
Cons:
mine has a few odd tool marks on it (does not effect how it fires), when fired you will hear the spring (kinda odd sounding) don't freak out all striker edge rifles do it.

Just received this rifle today and couldn't wait to try it. Set up the free Birchwood Casey spinner targets at 20 yards and without cleaning the barrel which you should do on a new gun and which I will certainly do later today, without mounting the scope, without even wearing my glasses which I have to wear for distance and considering this is a brand new gun I hit the spinner the first shot. I thought it must of been just luck so I shot a second time and hit it dead on again. This is going to be real fun spending time with this very accurate air rife.
Pros:
Great price for a quality air rifle Great service from Air Gun Depot Performs as well as any Nitro Piston that I have shot Cocks easy Light weight with excellent weight distribution
Cons:
So far I have not found any
