The Tech Force Contender Series® Model 89 is one sweet breakbarrel air rifle! The crisp open sights are definitley a cut above the rest. They are high quality and both the front and rear sights are all-metal and sharp. The rear sight is fully adjustable and has a fine scale for the windage adjustment and a crisp thumbwheel for elevation. The beechwood stock is beautiful and very well-made. Reddish overtones enhance the rich, dark brown color and the pistol grip and forearm are covered with two generous panels of fine checkering. The Contender 89 is not only beautiful, its very powerful, shooting at 1100 fps, and its very accurate! At 30 yards, the C-T-C measured 0.442". This rifle does not diesel, buzz, vibrate, has very little recoil and an extremely light cocking effort. It will hold its own with the TX200, Beeman R1 and the RWS 48 rifles at a much lower cost. It also comes with a muzzle brake and blade front sight with standard features including a scope block and soft rubber recoil pad.

Okay, I bought this Rifle b/c it was a cheap & high Powerful .22 Rifle whose Speeds could almost match those of the Walther Falcon Hunter but at Half The Price! I use this rifle mainly for hunting large vermen such as groundhog,Racoons, Fox, & squirrels. Be Pacient! you will need to break this rifle in completely! or the accuracy & powerful will not be up to full power. I hated this rifle in the beginning b/c i wanted to mount a scope of 4X32 on the rifle & i just wouldn't sight in at all! however the open sights on my rifle are beautiful fiber optic sights, very deadly! however it's harder to take far shots of 50 yds , but it can be done. once i finally got this scope sighted in....oh boy, those pests have no chance now! i took a 65 yd shot on a squirrel just a half hour ago. & drop like a sack of potatos right into the creek! i've dropped about 3-4 squirrels, 2 groundhogs (w/ open sights! at 35-45 yds) & many birds! I'm telling you that you must break this rifle in at aleast 1000 shots, but it's full power is unleashed. This is now my main long range rifle for hunting. Whether to scope the rifle is up to you, I was taking better & longer shots than my buddy was and he has a Gamo Shadow 1000 with a 3-9X30 mounted on it & i had open sights! but i decided to mount a scope for more precise shot placement. I also have the Beeman dual caliber rifle, This contender put the Beeman to shame with power, penetration & knock-down power. However the accuracy is about the same, I'd choose the contender over the Beeman cos i could shoot crows at 65 yds with open sights. Must Buy if looking for a cheap, powerful .22!
