Description:
The Thompson Chicago type writer is a blast from the past. In the days of the
Italian Mobster the Thompson M1A1 received the nick name "Chicago Type
Write" because of its heavy use by Italian Mobsters to collect protection
money, enforce laws and straight out bad stuff. Feared by law enforcement at
the time, until they got there own of course, the Typewriter was feared and
respected by everyone and anyone.
The airsoft version is no exception when it comes to being respected, revered and heavily used by any WWII airsoft players who want a reliable AEG.

I love this AEG!

They nailed it with this AEG! My father used one of these in WWII in the early years, as a Marine in the South Pacific. The Marines, my Dad was with, were given these instead of the A! version because the war was early and the post office had extra's. Yes, the post office used to have this Ganster Gun! Either way, I purchased it because of the history of the thing (the mod, f.b.i, Marines etc.). What I found was the gun actually works very well. The detachable drum magazine is very useful (don't over-wind it!). It hits hard and has a very pleasing chug chug chug sound when being fired in full-auto.
Of course, I modded mine with li-po batt and a mos fet (but, it was fun before I got 1200 rounds per minute). Very Cool AEG indeed!
Pros:Very realistic Nice weight Fairly accurate Doesn't feel cheap at all! |

This is an amazing gun, I got for Christmas and I am very happy with it so far...
+Everything in black is metal
+Very Realistic
+Good FPS (Its says 320 on the website but mine is on average around 420 FPS)
+450rd Hi-Cap Drum Magazine included and very easy to wind
+Stock is able to house my nun-chuck 9.6v battery
+Very intimidating
+Nice foregrip
+Not too heavy not too light
+High RoF
+Very Accurate
-Parts that would be wood on the real steel firearm are imitation wood on this version (There conversion kits though)
-The forwards outer barrel and foregrip may be loose when first unboxed (Not a big issue, just tighten two screws on the bottom of the gun)
-The magazine realese lever may be a little stiff at first (Nothng a little silicon oil can't fix)
-Did not come with the free Stick Magazine it said on the website (Oh well, the Drum Magazine is still amazing)
Overall very good weapon to add to my collection, I highly reccomend it

i got this tommy bout 3 weeks ago and play some tight batles the FPS is great the accuracy is good to about 80-90 feet. I love this gun. The drum doesn't always go in at first because it's dont slide so well so if u put some wd40 on it it will go fine. i use all sorts of SMG's but this has a great ammo capacity. It's good with brusing in CQB. So i really recommend this gun for collecters and or skirmishers.

This isn't my first Airsoft AEG and I didn't buy this gun to actually skirmish, but you certainly could if you wanted to do so. The ROF and FPS are both incredible out of the box, far better than what I'm used to with stock Cybergun/Softair/Palco/CYMA guns (btw, don't be confused, all of these are the same company). The ROF on this stock isn't fantastic when compared to a high end M4/G36/AK type of AEG, but it is fairly accurate for an actual 1928 "real steel" version of this gun, which would do between 600-900 rounds per minute (varies by .45 ACP load used). I actually own a non-drum original select-fire Thompson and can tell you that this is the closest thing you'll get on the market to the real-deal. It's THAT good.
Accuracy is outstanding using the dogear sights, the front foregrip makes this very comfortable and ergonomic and easy to sight down the tube. It is a heavy gun, fully loaded I'd say this is well over 8lbs, but it can easily be accommodated by my daughters who are quite petite. The stocks, of course, are plastic but a very high grade of ABS and you have to look closely to realize they aren't real wood.
The metal components are tight fits, and the hopup is easily accessible and ready to adjust should you so choose. I'm shooting mostly .20 and .25's in this thus far and easily getting 350-385FPS with my chrono. The 465 rating it has on the box is for .12 bb's and I don't recommend you use those in this gun. The barrel must be seen to be appreciated....the radiator rings are top notch quality and integral to the outer barrel.
Seriously, I don't recommend this gun for skirmishes not because it can't...you'd most likely dominate the field and the gun may actually run a bit hot for CQB fields. But it is such a showpiece that it would be a shame to mar the wonderful finish. I recommend this for bragging rights...and really, what else do you need but top notch bragging rights?
Excellent choice for a collector. And I shopped around...Airgundepot has the best price in the marketplace of all the reputable dealers. They are also one of the few keeping this baby in stock. Buy here!

I've gotten this gun for christmas and i love it. this is probably the most perfect airsoft gun machine gun ever built. With a beutiful design, awsome 450 bb drum, and automatic power, this gun will guarentee you a victory during a war. worth every penny, (which is a great deal), because if i were to see this gun i thaught it would be like $500 because that is what it's worth. Very exciting and fun gun to use. probably my most prized gun, i love it, superb replica!!!!!!!

I receive the product yesterday, it surprise me a lot, really looking cool and powerful, I can feel free to carry it in a bb war since it is not 100% replica from original m1921 type. But I do hope cybergun can produce a 100% M1928 tommy gun with top bolt and manual aim lock as well. All in all, it works and worths!

Looks very nice, except for the fact that it is missing the bolt that would slide forward everytime it would shoot a bullet on the real thompsons. Otherwise, a beautiful bb gun replica.

Ok this is not the 1921 model it likes to make it self look like, it is only the M1A1 version modified. The 1921 Thompson had the cocking lever on the top, also I know that it only takes .6mm bb's but for accuracy reasons it should say what the original Auto Ordanance ones would such as .45 Cal. On the plus side though if what others say is true it is very powerful and accurate. But I will wait for the 1921 Replica, airsoft companys have accurate replicas of almost every other gun from the last 80 years so why not the 1921.

I do not own this so I will only comment on what I see in the picture. For the most part it looks exactly like the real thing, however for this style thompson the cocking lever was on top. Also I might be wrong because I could not read the side too well in the picture but it looks like it says 9mm when the Thompson's were .45 cal.
