Has Potential

I bought the Webley Stingray a few months back and have had a bit of trouble. The rifle was only shooting 9.5-10 fpe and had a cracked rear sight. I read on Airgun Depot's website that you could not return the Webley and had to send it for service. I called the Warranty number and didn't have any problems getting an authorization number. I had to pay for shipping to the destination to get the rifle fixed. The rifle was returned with a new rear sight and they also replaced the mainspring and the seals. The return claimed a 7.1 grain pellet at 957 fps for 14.4 fpe. My test showed a 7.3 grain at 902 fps for 13.2 fpe. Good enough for me. Several other pellets also tested from 12.5 fpe and 13.2 fpe in weights 7.1 grain to 10.35 grain. I am having a bear of a time getting a scope to stay put on it. There are no stop pins in the receiver. I think I will have to get a 6 screw mount. I even tried a scope stop from Gamo and cleaned the dovetail and mounts with alcohol but that didn't work. I am hesitant to try drilling a hole for the stop pins but may have to. The Quattro trigger would not pull when I received the rifle. I watched a video that showed how to adjust the trigger and it works great now. Definite difference between 1st and 2nd stage with a light quick let off. The rifle's appearance is very nice. The stock is nice and the bluing is very good. Accuracy is there and I can get 1 hole groups at 10-15 yards with a couple different pellets but the sights are not suitable for 25 yard shooting. Stock screws need tightened a lot but I think I have cured that with blue loc-tite. All in all I am committed to this rifle, I just like it and it is fun to shoot. Just a few bumps in the road along the way.
Pros:
Appearance, trigger and probably the accuracy if I can get the scope to stay put. With a 10% discount the rifle is a bargain. Love the threaded muzzle (don't know why).
Cons:
Needs a couple of holes in the receiver for stop pins or a weaver rail. Power was way down and had to send it to warranty repair.
