The good ole' days of quality.
September 11, 2019
I bought this springer for many reasons. One is, i relly like shooting springers. They may be out of style but i like em. The main reason i bought this unit was the quality i read about and i wasn't dissapointed. I have many vintage Air rifles. In the golden era of Air guns it seems there was more attention to detail and finish and just overall quality of these types of guns. I've had airguns from the early 80's that i still shoot and look incredible as well as function flawlessly. You just dont get a lot of that anymore. This would be one of the exceptions. The bluing is amazing and the Walnut stock has great figuring and a wonderful shape. What i never read anywhere was the amount of palm swell this stock has. I have large hands and the swell in the middle of the palm is larger than any gun i own. It fits me perfectly. These tx-200's will last a lifetime if you take care of them, they really will. Its beautiful and i don't even need to talk about how accurate it is. Spot on! i had this 50mm objective optic that i never had found a good gun to mount on that didnt look dumb but it works super good and sits perfect on BKL high mounts. i would recommend thee to anyone. They are a bit pricey, i agree but things in this world are just not getting cheaper and quality is degrading so i recommend picking one up sooner than later. I did have an issue however. The trigger gaurd is aluminum and the coating they used was bubbling around the edges. I could help but notice it everytime i picked it up. i contacted AAI and they promptly replaced it. They were amazing. Just a good company that stands behind their product.
Prosgreat item, superb accuracy, excellent customer service from AAI
Conshad a bad trigger guard but it was replaced immediately by the maker
Best Uses.177 is probably best for plinking and target but i hunt with mine as too. A well placed shot will usually do the trick.

Experienced or novice, this IS the Air Rifle for you!

Only taking 27 pounds cocking effort, this rifle's beauty, accuracy, and over-all performance makes Air Gun shooting a very pleasurable experience. I've owned dozens of Air Guns and the TX200 is as good as it gets.
ProsACCURATE! Beautiful, professionally blued and stocked in the walnut variety. Power, at 930 fps in .177 cal, is sufficient for pest control. If you take care of this firearm, you'll pass this beauty on to the next generation.
ConsHard to load at first when scope equipped but with use you'll become proficient and overlook this minor obstacle.

Very nice Air rifle

Looks and over-all finish are simply awesome. The TX-200 MRKIII is a little louder than I expected. But I figured I'd get a moderator for my new TX-200. Come to find out you can't fit a moderator on a
TX-200 MRKIII which was very disappointing. I purchased the HAWKE Air-max 4-16X50 scope and mounted it on my TX-200. Sighting the TX-200 in was a bit of work, come to find out every screw holding the rifle together was loose. I had to completely strip down the TX-200 and retighten all the screws. Watched some You-tube videos and then got everything tight. Now the TX-200 shoots dime size groups at 25 yards. After about 30 shots I started getting flier pellets out side the groups. Come to find out some of the screws on the gun were loose again. After reading comments on the web I see this is a common issue with this rifle and I may need to use some thread lock. This was a little disappointing for such an expensive air rifle.
ProsVery nice looking , accurate springer .22 rifle Love the trigger very nice I give the TX-200 MRKIII LH Walnut 4 stars - wish I could give it 5 stars but see "CONs below"
ConsVery heavy, get some shooting bags Loose screws when new Little loud for backyard plinking No sling mounts for such a heavy rifle it needs sling mounts. Safety has been acting up on me, does not always work! Can't fit a moderator on the TX-200 MRKIII

Beautiful and powerfull

I received this rifle as a birthday present and, due to weather here, have only had a chance to use it at 10 meters indoor. I need a thicker backstop! Using JSB Match Diablo Jumbo heavy at 10 meters punched through the 0.025 ducting steel I had been using for my 0.177 target guns. Constancy seems very good for the first 30 shots. one quarter inch groups at 10 meters off a single point rest .

This is a heavy gun compared to my Daisy Avanti 0.177 10 meter target rifle, but that adds some stability offhand.

I had some cocking troubles at first. It didn't want to set the safety or allow the anti-beartrap to release without several tries. I explored on-line and saw that this was not uncommon. 1/2 turn of the rear trigger assembly attachment screw seems to have totally fixed it.

As many have noted, it's stone cold beautiful!
ProsGood power. Very consistent at 10 meters.
ConsInitial cocking/safety problems

This rifle is a must have!

I haven't been able to find any faults with this rifle so far. Fit and finish is as good if not better than any other rifle I own. The rifle just oozes quality that will become apparent the first time you pick it up. Accuracy when well scoped is excellent and doesn't seem to be as hold sensitive as many other springers out there. I purchased this rifle in .22 and was prepared to be somewhat underwhelmed with the groups it would shoot compared to a .177. That has also not been the case. You get what you pay for definitely applies here and once purchased you will feel absolutely No buyers remorse. I've included a target shot at 20 yds of 5 shot groups. Pellets were JSB Jumbo Heavy.
ProsFrom my perspective. Everything!
ConsFor some with big hands or limited dexterity the loading port could be a challenge.

You get what you pay for

At least in this case. This is without a doubt one of the finest rifles I've ever owned. Let people sing all the praises they want for the Chinese air rifles on the market. They can't hold a candle to the TX. From fit and finish to the superb accuracy right out of the box and just the feel when you hold it in your hands....amazing! If all you can afford is a Ben or a Gamo...I get it! But if you can save up for TX you will never regret it!
