Highly realistic copy of the sniper rifles used by law enforcement around the world. Black Ops made the right decision when they decided to make this tactical rifle as a single-shot pellet gun. Unlike most tactical air guns, this will deliver pretty good accuracy since it has a rifled barrel. After all, what use is a gun if it's not accurate? Snipers need surgical precision for all their shots, so they never use open sights. You won't be shooting the same distances as military snipers, so a 4x32 scope should meet all your needs for hunting and plinking. In fact, hunters generally prefer low-magnification scopes because it gives them a wider field of view. That makes it easier to acquire targets. Your Black Ops Tactical Sniper air rifle will come in handy for dispatching small rodents and other garden pests. If you're not into pest control, this airgun makes a great paper popper. Remember to buy lots of pellets. You're about to have a lot of fun!

Pros
Very good air gun and fun

Cons
Not sure why it's $249.99 here vs. The actual manufacturer who sells it retail for $199.99

Pros
Iron sights are spot on and the weapon does what it is intended to do. The scope however is lacking in ability .

Cons
Make.the bolt action more than just for astectics and possibly semi operational for the feel of racking a round.

Cons

Haven't found the dream pellet for it yet, most likely that will be JSB Exact Kings, but I've been using the Crosman premier hollow points and they perform pretty darn well. Like I said I was able to split an incense stick from 40 yards on first shot with an upgraded scope. If you want a sweet looking rifle for some pest control or backyard fun, give this one a try. Excellent price point for the overall quality.

Pros
I am actually quite astonished with the accuracy of this for both its price point and being a break barrel. I upgraded the scope to a BSA Sweet - 4.5x18x40mm and now can split an incense stick from about 40 yards away. I'm definitely impressed overall with this rifle.

Cons
The trigger is definitely a pain, and the included bipods are more of a nuisance than they are reliable, but those are just minor flaws compared to how well the rifle ultimately performs.

Pros
Very accurate at 30 yards, I've had the .22 for over four months. I grew up with air rifles but not like this one. I would purchase again if needed to. Great product.

Cons
The bipod legs took some getting use to.

If you truly don't care about a heavy trigger with a ton of slack, this isn't a bad buy. If you are looking for an all-round quality purchase, this is not it.

Pros
Shot well, nice add-ons

Cons
Trigger had 1/4-1/2" of slop. Worst trigger I have ever used, including cheaper airguns and traditional firearms.

If you are thinking of purchasing this rifle, do it. You won't be disappointed.

Pros
This gun is a tact driver. I am shooting with H&N spiral pointed pellets and it is going into a 2x4 atleast half way at 15 yards. My gum also likes the Rifle Premium Round pellets.

Cons
Higher magnification scope for those that are half blind.

This air rifle is lighter than my .22 calibur Crosman Diamondback Elite. Will update when I clean the barrel and get to shot it. Today we are having 20 to 30 mile an hour winds so not a good day.

Pros
Everything so far

Cons
Nothing

asked Ezra from USA

Is there anyone aware of an "After Market" resource that would provide accessories & replacement parts or ever significant power ups for this product?

asked Richard from USA

Has "Black Ops USA" addressed the issue of the break barrel pellet chamber being able to open when product is just set on the ground? That was an initial issue of the break barrel not closing completely. If you were not careful & paid attention to this problem, you would shoot the rifle not being closed all the way & rendering damage to the "O"Ring after several times of shooting it unaware of this fault.

asked Richard from USA

Is there a better (After Market) set of side fitting bipods available that are stronger?

Will this kill a bobcat or coyote

asked Aj

With this rifle (.22 cal) you would need to be within 10-15 yards of the coyote or bobcat for a clean kill, so I would say that is pretty unlikely. So, not a good choice IMO.

Dennis from USA

The wary bobcat are territorial and can be both stalwartly defensive and aggressive: you should not wish to encounter a merely defensive or, worse, wounded bobcat with only your .177 rifle: the rifle may look mean to you but the bobcat would soon disabuse you of that notion. At about -30 lbs. a bobcat is a small creature, yet it is powerful, with claws and fangs, and it moves faster than you. Be prudent. Finally, the wariness of both bobcat and the coyote translates as "it's unlikely you'll see either;" however, if you do consistently observe either of them I suggest you know the game laws in your state and bring out the smokeless powder guns before you intentionally tangle with either of them: I recommend .22 magnum and larger. If you are seeing them, something is cockeyed, and you should _observe_ carefully before getting your self close enough to shoot: rabid animals don't act normally, which is one reason why you might eyeball one of these stalkers. Finally, you're not going to eat either of these creatures if they do not pose an imminent threat to you, your family, your pet/s, do you want the pelt? If the answer is no (there is hardly any animal more difficult to skin than a coyote and it requires an experienced hand to mot make a mess of it), why trouble them?

Russ from USA

Most .177 caliber guns do not produce enough knockdown power to take larger game such as coyotes or bobcats. Your best bet is to look into a large caliber air rifle of .25 caliber or greater

Scott from USA

Can u hunt small game with it or is it unlawful

asked tyler nye

I think that would be a good question to ask your wildlife agency in your state.

Steven Fitzgerald

CALL THE PA. DIVISION OF FISH AND GAME.

Mario from USA

As of this date it is against the Pa. game laws to hunt small game with anything other than a firearm using gunpowder powered projectiles. Of course bows and crossbows are nor prohibited. Think Pa. is now only one of two states where this still applies. Sorry.

William from USA

Can't see any reason you couldn't use this gun for small game. The stock makes this gun look out of the picture for hunting, but I have another gun with a different stock with the same barrel. The same gun with a different suit. Gas Piston, Spring action or Compressed Air, doesn't change the title Air Rifle name so why would the Stock. You may want to check with your local game warden, they are the pros. Hope this helps.

Don I

I can't see any reason you couldn't use this gun for small game. The only difference is the apparatus that holds the barrel. You may want to check with your local game warden. A dog in a dress is no different than a dog in jeans its a dog. By the way this is a great gun.

Don I

This air rifle is certainly powerful enough to kill small game when the pellet is properly placed but it is important to read your specific state's rules about caliber and type of weapons allowed for the taking of specific game before going out and hunting with it. These types of rules ensure a clean and humane kill.

Al from USA

Where do I load the bbs into the gun I just got it today and I am confused

asked Connor

This is not a bb gun, it is a break barrel pellet rifle. You need to pull down on the barrel to break the hinge, this will cock the spring as well as allow you to load the pellet. Do not attempt to fire bb's out of this rifle as they will not properly fit in the barrel and may cause damage to the gun.

Scott from USA

Are you SURE this is GAS PISTON? Two websites say it is Spring Piston and Two say it is Gas Piston. I am confused, thanks for your help

asked JohnMan3

There are basically two versions. The original "Black Ops Sniper Rifle" was a spring "(springer") type power plant, and were mostly sold by "Walmart" (circa-2010-2015). Now they are harder to find, and they have a gas piston power plant. From what information I have gathered, the original source company was sold, distributionof this air-gun was limited, and a small number of changes were made to this product, (i.e. the stock was no longer adjustable). One of the principals of the original company is attempting to re-acquire the rights to produce this item. GLM

G-Mog-1953

This one is the Gas Piston, I bought the previous model which is the Spring moder on sale for $99.99 delivered to my door. The first thing I did was to put away the scope that came with it and bought and installed a nice 3-12×50 illuminated retical with sun shades along with a Red/Green/Blue dot scope a Green laser and a Tactical light. It shoots and looks great even though with all these additions it's so heavy I need 2 mules to carry it to the bench/ table to shoot/ play with it. I have 8 other 177 cal./ 6mm airsoft that are also decked out but out of all of them this has been my favorite from the beginning. I would recommend this to any adult but I would say try before you buy if you can to be sure it's right for you because it's heavy, large ang takes a little effort to cock it. All in all AAAAA+++++

Robert from USA

the 2013 model is spring powered and the new 2014 model is gas piston

Phil

The box/manufacturer lists it as 'Power Piston Technology'. Not sure if this is the same as what other manufacturers call Nitro Piston or not, but all the sites I've found list this unit in the same category as their Nitro Piston guns. It may just be Black Ops USA's trademarked name for the same thing.

Curt from USA

Is this really GAS PISTON or is it SPRING?

asked John Man

It's a gas piston. I doubt you could get 1250 fps out of a spring powered rifle.

Kerwin from USA

I e mailed black ops this question. They say it is a gas piston
