This spring-piston break-barrel rifle is light weight, making hours of shooting easy with out getting worn. The Crosman Phantom shoots 1000 feet per second! Enabling better accuracy.

The Crosman Phantom 1000x has a newly styled all-weather synthetic stock with a Monte Carlo butt-stock, checkered pistol grip and forearm. The tailored styling makes this gun easy and comfortable to hold while offering natural points to properly balance the gun. Front and rear fiber optic sights let you acquire targets quicker (11mm dovetails allow for a scope), and the two-stage adjustable trigger (adjustable for length of second-stage pull, not pull weight) ensures further customization to your shooting preference.

I like this rifle alot the only problem I had with it is the scope that comes with it stinks. After dialing the scope in I noticed that the crosshairs after every shot turned. After mounting a Nikon 4x32 sportsman scope I love this rifle. Shots very well and accurate to. I would recommend buying this rifle without the scope that comes with it and just buy a different scope.

Phantom 1000x

Being my first gun I liked it alot at first but as I shot it and played with it more I noticed some flaws like: the accuracy was not the greatest, it is very loud, and it has alot of recoil. Other than those I like the look and the power and the break barrel style.

This rifle is very well made. The scope that it came with is nice. Accuracy is good, but low in power. The vibration is lower as compared to similar rife with plastic stock, such as other plastic model from Gamo. However, one can not go wrong with the low prices being offer for refurbished rifle. For the price I paid, I just move the scope to my other rifle. Now, I am shooting this rifle without a scope with surprising good accuracy. This is a great rifle for a beginner, easy to take care and use, and the rifle does not require great effort or strength to break.

This is a great air gun for beginners. Not only is it good looking, it is powerful and fairly accurate as well. You won't be winning any Olympic matches with this rifle (or driving tacks). However, 1" CTC groupings at 25 yards are very achievable. It is 1.6 pounds heavier than my Nitro 17. This is most likely due to the use of more metal and less plastic in its construction. I believe the extra mass contributes to its accuracy (basic physics) as it absorbs a lot of the recoil (the rubberized recoil pad is a nice addition). The 1000X comes with a CenterPoint duplex (I prefer mil-dot) reticle scope. It is nitrogen filled (to prevent fogging). This scope retails for $65 ($30 street). When you take into account the cost of the scope, you are getting a rifle with fiber optic sights for about $50. This gives the refurbished PhantomX a price to value ratio that is second to none. What makes it an exceptional rifle for beginners is that you can upgrade it as your skills improve: 1) For around $30 you could replace the trigger with a GRT III (highly recommended), and for around $85 you can get a decent Leapers or Simmons scope ( only $15 after your saving from buying a refurbished PhantomX). (Then, if you sell the CenterPoint scope for at least $15, your new scope is basically "free".) A new trigger and scope would make the PhantomX a great critter splitter. Of course, if accuracy is important, you could always tune it (for around $200). Or, you could just buy a more accurate rifle (such as a TF99 or a IZH61) and move your new scope over to it. When you consider price, quality and flexibility, this refurbished combo cannot be beat (that's why I bought it).

Reviews for Crosman Phantom 1000x Air Rifle .177 w/4x32 Scope REMANUFACTURED
August 25, 2010
The only bug i have with this Crosman Phantom 1000x Air Rifle .177, is that the spot where the rifle would crack to open for loading was very difficult to open. I did not want to force it, but a little oil and all is will. Thank You.

Crosman Phantom 1000

I ordered this gun remanufactured. I am VERY pleased with the Phantom. After about 100 shots of different types of pellets this gun and scope is broken in and is very accurate at around 30 yards. I haven't tried it at longer ranges yet, but will when I can. This rifle seems to like 4-5 different pellets, not too picky. This gun is very well made. I have a 15 year old friend that shoots this gun very well. I am 58 and have been shooting airguns since around 1960.
