Crosman Shockwave NP

Nitro Piston powered air rifle with all-weather stock
  • Code: CSNP2SX · .22 · 950 fps
Out of Stock
A gas-piston powerplant should be high on your list if you enjoy hunting or eliminating pests with our air rifle. Crosman's Nitro Piston is reliable and lets you hunt in the coldest weather without slowing down. Guns with metal mainsprings have lube on them- which thickens in cold weather. If it's cold enough, that thick lube slows down the gun so much that it doesn't have reasonable power. Don't depend on a powerplant that's weather-sensitive if you can have one that works the same regardless of the temperature. Crosman Shockwave NP air rifle is suitable for dispatching small critters at close distances. Get rid of squirrels, rabbits, rats, mice, gophers and more. If hunting is going to be your main use, get the .22 caliber for max power. Besides critter control, this gun makes a fun backyard plinker.

It took a couple hundred pellets before I was getting reasonable groups. Then I started testing different pellets with different pellet weights until I found a couple that worked in this rifle. I'm now grouping inside a quarter at 20yrds and confident to use it on small game I take large snowshoe hares on a regular basis at a distance from 7-15yrd. Occasionally up to 20yrds but I don't usually like to reach out that far as it is a small projectile and easily susceptible to wind taking it off course. I use this rifle for roughed grouse often as it is quiet and most birds are within my personal 20 yrd limit . These are great guns no matter which model you get. There all based on the same nitro piston. Take the time to learn which pellets it likes and learn your own individual limits and this can be a terrific rifle for plinking ,pest control or small game hunting.

Pros
I love shooting this gun. Loose the 4power scope that comes with it and spend a few bucks on a proper optic with adjustable parallax and its tack driver.

Cons
If it comes with the 4power scope, take it off and give to a neighbor kid to play "eye spy" . Spend a few buck and get a good scope designed for air rifles that has an adjustable parallax.

I'd say it's a good buy and worth the price, it's especially good when you get it on sale like I did for around 90 bucks. I rate it 4/5.

Pros
Great gun, with great power, from tests this can generate above 25 foot lbs depending on the pellet, and it works with .22 caliber slugs as well. Overall my positives are: - Easy cocking effort, a 14 year old is able to cock the break barrel with one arm. - A great amount of energy, perfect for medium and small game. - We've used this to take down squirrels around 75-100 yards away with a clean one shot kill. - Depending on the pellet, it can actually go above 950 fps, as we've broken the sound barrier with gold raptor pellets. - Accurate and easy to operate air rifle.

Cons
- A bit loud for the backyard with lighter pellets as it breaks the sound barrier and creates a loud echoing crack. - Scope is mediocre but not horrible.

With two plus acres of woods, we have plenty of squirrels. Not that I want to kill the little critters,I want them to leave our deer feed alone. This pellet rifle has the power for long shots and with the included scope, it will reach out and keep the squirrels scattering. Great product and would not hesitate to recommend it for the price/power. Thanks

This is a great air rifle for the money. Perfect weight and power. The accuracy is there too. Prior to this purchase of the .177 Cal., I had bought the .22 Cal. version. both are great air guns. AirgunDepot does a great job packaging their product for shipping. A box within a box... so no damage, excelent.

Pros
a great all around gun for weight, feel, power, and accuracy.

The gun is very easy to shoot and my wife and I shot it a bunch after mounting the scope, my wife was shooting better than me and at 25 yards all the pellets were within 1 inch with most touching each other, I like the trigger and the only thing I can think of is if the gun after being cocked went to safety would be better.

First, chunk the scope. The rifle is excellent, with a lot of power. Once you get the trigger adjusted, and the irons sighted in it's a joy to shoot. I debated for a few weeks between a few models and don't have any regrets on this one.

Pros
Adjustable trigger Plenty of power Light Accurate

Cons
Scope is trash

Does it even have a proper rail, to mount a one piece scope mount, no Matter the distance or angle of the pics I can't see it oddly enough.
