Horrible Barrel Jammed, Than it leaked CO2 wasting them.
June 22, 2014
Awful three days of use this thing is a total piece of garbage its like a generic made daisy brand you can't even unscrew the barrel from the trigger like the original model it doesn't have screws on the side. Barrel jams up easily, than after about 10 CO2 cans the seal is busted even after using oil and cleaning the barrel, leaking everywhere.
Only good thing was the FPS, otherwise garbage.
Everything awful.

Excellent Airgun -- Good trainer for Beretta 92FS
March 22, 2014
I have own my Daisy Powerline 617X for 2 years. I use pelloil on each C02 cylinder and store in the original package. I own a Beretta 92FS, 9mm; I use the Daisy 617 as a memory trainer for my Beretta. The feel of the Daisy is very close to the feel of my Beretta (less weight but close). The sighting is close. The Daisy is very accurate. I shoot in my basement, close range setup, multiple targets. Helps with training on making close in shots, clearing my house training, and quick target acquisition. Only 6 shots but it shoots straight and that is the bottom line. No recoil so that is lost in the training but it does do the other things as mentioned to enhance the hand, eye, . movement gun memory. Much cheaper to shot than my 9mm. I recommend the gun.
Good trainer. Accurate, especially when using pellets. Very close feel to my Beretta 92FS. Good seals after 2 years.
No recoil.

This is a fun Co2 pistol. It isn't the most accurate, but isn't too inaccurate (and has no rails.) I wanted it for the dual ammo capability (pellets and bb's.) Investing in the clips is well worth it, I'd recommend 2-3 packs to get your shots in while the Co2 is still fresh.
Fun, good plinker.
No rails.

Beretta 92 @ less than 1/2 the price!
June 21, 2013
This is an incredible Co2 Pistol for the money. It's just as accurate as my Beretta 92, and Walther CP88. The only let down is the amount of plastic and the 6 shot magazine. If this gun had more metal and an 8 round magazine, I would easily spend an extra $100.00 for this shooter, it's that good. I have the 617X's big brother the 622X, and it's a shame they took it off the market. It was a superb pistol and even though mine stopped working due to a faulty valve stem, I'm hangin' on to it in hope that one day I'll find someone qualified to fix it. I highly recommend the 617X, at this price I'd buy 2, and keep one for the day that the other one breaks, or they stop production, and the price will jump up a $100.00. Anyway, Do yourself a favor and buy this gun, You won't be disappointed in the least. Cheer's, Andy.

Finally Failed...
May 19, 2013
This pistol was made in Japan and seemed to be of high quality. After having this around for a while and not shooting it very much, this little Daisy finally failed in two ways. First and the most aggravating is that the CO2 leaks out every time due to a failed seal in the cylinder seat. I am trying to find a replacement part. No luck so far. Second issue is the upper receiver area. It is all plastic and warped over time to allow the magazine catch to sit high enough that the rotary magazine does not advance unless one places their hand on the top of the receiver to hold it down in place. Time to replace this piece.
Simple, inexpensive pistol for plinking.
CO2 seal failure makes pistol useless.

ive had this gun for about 3 days, but i am very impresed. it isnt perfect acurate, but ive shot cans at 30 yards no problem. GET EXTRA MAGS!!!!. this gun is powerful and is fun to shoot, but with only 6 shots in every mag, they go fast. i also got ABOUT 100 SHOTS WITH ONLY ONE CO2 CAN. i would suggest buying this gun for beginers and experienced shooters.

This pistol is well balanced, accurate, and dependable. I would suggest ordering extra rotary mags when you order the gun for easier speed loading. you'll enjoy this gun!

Not a bad pistol for the money. I like the size of it, it has some heft to it. Not super accurate, but not bad really. Another reviewer mentioned that it was quiet, I've actually found it to be quite loud, more so with a new cylinder. Get some extra cylinders, those six shots go fast!

This is a plinker, nothing else. It looks great, feels right in your hand and actually is fairly quiet. If you want tight accuracy, this isn't it. If you want to be able to place shots within 2-3 inches out to about 30 feet, this is ok. But then, I've never known a C02 pistol to be match accurate anyway. The barrel assembly may kick open during a shot, but I found that due to a misaligned rotary clip. All in all, for what it is, it's good. If you want to blast stuff around your yard, this pistol is nice for that.

Great Gun
June 18, 2008
I really like the fiber optic front sight. This gun is Dead on acurate. I"m nailing 3" rings from 23 feet using shoot NC targets. This gun has power and is a blast to shoot. Love the 485fps for BB's and the 425fps for pellets. The pellets seem to fire higher then the listed 425fps as well. I would rather shoot .22 cal pistols , but this gem has brought FUN to shooting .177 cal. pistols.

Can the CO2 Capsule be left in this gun for any period of time while not in use. It's not recommended on most gas pistols and this sucks. It causes seals to blow on most models.
By Staff on May 9, 2012

Any gun that uses a source of air for power should not be left in the loaded and/or cocked position for an extended period of time since each one uses seals. So while CO2 can be left in, once again, it is simply not recommended.

The same applies to spring, Nitro Piston, PCP, Gas (as you mentioned) or any pump gun.

By Alexander from Dodge City Ks. on January 24, 2012
Ok, I'v heard that it's accurate as crap, and i'v heard it's accuracy sucks. I have heard that you shouldn't shoot pellets after you load another co2 cartridge. HELP!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

IDK, get it and try it.
