I love this gun even though it's a little loud. I have a scope on it but I broke both sites off the gun. Anyone know where I can get these online?

Great gun for the money.

I've had my 1000 for about five years now. I got it to control rabbits that devastate everything they get near. Farthest kill is on a prairie dog at 225 feet through the head with one shot. As with all spring piston air rifles there is a lot of vibration so you have to tighten the screws after every 100 shots or so. I have the .177 and use RWS, Gamo and Daisy pellets all with good success. Shoots every bit as good as my 350.00 German gun. I use pellets about 5-6 grains. Beware, These guns are serious weapons and should not be used by children unless very closely supervised. They are a booger to cock so most young kids couldn't cock them anyway.
Accurate, reliable, inexpensive.
Takes some strength to cock but gets easier with time. Screws vibrate loose like all spring piston guns.

Great gun- had it 2 years and still flawless- routine maintenance of course and it shoots the Cr0ssman pointed 4.5 g pellets just fine. Knockdown at 50 ft tops, accurate as heck. Fun plinker - I still want to make it quieter and LESS trigerpull- even after adjusting it feels like 5 lb- sheesh. Great gun-
accurate from the box nice scope
lousy scope mounts terrible trigger pull

Daisy Powerline 1000s
April 22, 2011
when i first got the gun it would shoot 3 shots in a dime size group. then later when i went to shoot again i found that the scope had wiggled loose. my brother later got a gamo big cat and when we would shoot together his always seemed better my scope no longer staid on target. when we hunted chipmunks his would drop them where they stood but mine would sometimes kill them and sometimes not. got a gamo and sold the daisy at a garage sale for $55 like gamo would give it zero stars but it dosn't let me

It's ok
March 16, 2010
It's ok it only gets about 925 fps and it's not super high quality. To me the crosman storm xt is better it gets around 975 to 1000 fps but it only takes 28 lb of cocking effort not 48 like the daisy and also best pellet is predator polymag.

Great Air Rifle
December 16, 2009
I bought this gun and was very pleased with it. But I bought High rise scope mounts and a $25.00 dollar scope from wal-mart. I have the iron sites set at 30 feet and the scope at 100 feet which gives me a wide range. Works out great for brush or open areas. I use the pellets with the bb in the end of it. Out of 10 shots i can hit a 3in. circle 8 of 10 times. I give this gun 5 stars. My 26 year old son is buying him one.

nice air rifle
November 25, 2009
It is the most powerful and fastes air rifle i have ever had.It is a good squirrel gun and dove and small things like tht,but for bigger game like ground hog and hogs it would not be the best gun.I have killed so many squirrels with it.It does have some bad things about it like most of the time it needs a follow up shot to kill the squirrel, unless u hit it in the head or heart. It will usely make a person happy, unless you are hunting bigger game or shooting things at long ranges. It is a good gun up to like 35 yards and then it drops and loses power but it has been a great gun for me.

Great Gun!

With gold plateed pellets, this gun fires at 1473fps MAX chronoed (that's an ultrasonic pellet speed, you can hear loud sonicboom when fired). . Lead pellets, 1011fps MAX (fires pretty quiet).

Incredible rifle!
May 31, 2009
Hunting: This amazing rifle is a hunting rifle , first and foremost. 45 pounds of cocking effort drive the pellets at a screaming 1,000-1,200 feet per second, and my main hunting pellets are Beeman Crow Magnums, they are ultra accurate in this rifle, and I snipe Mourning Doves, and when I shoot them, they drop dead on the spot! The Scope: The scope is splendid! I never have to re-sight it, I've even gone through 8 of my 14 different kinds of pellets, these 8 that I have tried so far are different head designs, and different weights (the pellets are: Beeman Crow Magnums, Crosman Premier Lights and Hollowpoints, Gamo Raptors, Rockets, Hunters and Magnums, and BSA Wolverines) and these pellets all hit in the center of the reticule! The Scope Mounts: The scope mounts are awesome, they do not need to be re-tightened, and they keep the scope in place very firmly. The Safety: The safety is conveniently located at the back of the reciever, and can be reset at any time. The Trigger: The trigger? I personally like the trigger, even though its a bit stiff. However, the the length of the first stage can be adjusted to suit personal preferences. The Fiber Optic Sights: The fiber optic sights are nice, I have never actually used them, but they are pretty good quality, I can tell, and the rear one has spring loaded ball bearing adjustments for windage and elelvation. Custom Paint Scheme: Mine is custom painted, and has a tactical camouflage paint scheme. In Conclusion... this rifle is a must-have, for its smashing, annihilating power and accuracy, the scope, and all the fine points make this rifle unrivaled!

The gun was great.just dont take the scope off once you got it on. The scope mounts arnt made to come on and off.also dont take the scope stopper off, even if your arnt using the scope.but other than that the gun works great.I've had mine for 5 years and it broke. THe cocking arm came out of the spring where it belongs.

Scope was missing pcs
September 24, 2008
While I think this rifle is really nice, I had a problem with missing peices from the scope mount. Using the site is pretty good, but I can't help but wonder how much more accurate this rifle is using the scope. I guess the point is, buy a mounting kit as an accessory, even though there should be a complete kit out of the box with this package.

Good Shooter
September 22, 2008
I've owned this rifle approx. 3 days. I knew nothing about air rifles before buying this one but, I've learned a lot in a short time. I was looking for something to kill rats with so I bought the most powerful inexpensve rifle I could find. I shopped all of two stores before buying the Daisy 1000S. Shooting 7.3 gr. pellets it wouldn't group on the side of a barn but, when I tried 7.9 gr. Crossman Pointed Hollowpoints I saw an immediate drastic improvemnent. After shooting only 50 to 75 rounds through this rifle I can cover my 15 yd. groups with a quarter. That's from a standing position using a tree to rest my forward hand on. I'm very excited about this turn-around in accuracy and am looking for heavier pelllets to try. The scope works fine. It's no Leopold but, it does the job and is clear enough. It takes a bit of strength to cock but, that's the price you pay for a gun with this velocity. I like the fit and finsih. It appears to be well made. The trigger had a LOT of slack until I bought a longer adjustment screw (29 cents at Ace Hdware). Now I can actually adjust the trigger. It breaks nice and clean at about 4 or 5 lbs. I like a little slack iin my triggers but, I can take it all out if I want to now that I have a real adjustment screw. Definately keep all of the screws tight ... especially on the scope. Loctite is a very good idea and I'll be adding it to my scope screws in the near future. The rat population in my area will be reduced by a considerable amount .... soon. :) One more thing. If you plan to shoot this rifle a lot buy a glove for your supporting hand that has a leather palm and is reinforced (double leather) at the points where recoil will move it around in your hand. It will sve you a blister or two. I certainly hope this rifle lasts a long time. It's a keeper in my book.

Powerful Air Rifle
June 1, 2008
This Air Rifle works well after some manipulation. First of all, it needs to shoot a pellet thats 8 grains or more. Anything less, won't sight in. It's too powerful for light pellets. Think of the theory of throwing a fastball with a whiffle ball, it's all over the place. The scope mounts and scope.....well after really tightening with Loc-Tite, the scope stays in place. The scope is a little foggy, but works fairly well. If and when I get serious with this gun, I will get a better scope and mounts. It needs a scope, because the open sights are a wiggly piece of plastic. I wish Daisy would do something about this. My nephew's air-soft has a better rear sight. The performance of the shooting aspects of this rifle is very satisfactory once I began using a RWS 8.3 grain pellet. It's a 5 Star rifle, with 3 Star scope/sights, it gets a 4 Star from me.

Cheap and Reliable
February 21, 2008
This air rifle is outstanding for its price range. Very accurate and the scope stop on the barrel is very helpful since the gun does have a bit of a large recoil. the scope did not take long to site in. Bottom line, this gun is cheap and reliable.

Powerline 1000s
December 30, 2007
This is a great gun. I got it for X-Mas 2 days ago and it is a little loud but that can be fixed by drilling a small hole in the stock and filling it with foam. Plus it is stiff to break at first but that clears up after a couple of shots. But ive only dry-fired it because I havent got the chance to really shoot it but from the other reviews im guessing its pritty accutate

Great gun. it is loud due to the stock being hollow. Spray foam and a small drill bit and the noise is drastically reduced.

A powerful and accurate airgun. Only drawback for me is difficulty in cocking. You must put gun across knees and hit barrel with palm to break the pivot point contacts loose; from there it cocks with no problem.

I cant find a parts diagram for this gun. I would also like to do a trigger mod but havent seen any detailed instructions or pics on how to do it. Are there any performance mods to increase the speed such as shimming the spring or swapping it out for a different one? Thanks.

I would check with the manufacturer for better charts on the rifle.

where do you load the pellets

By Conor from Sunnyside, WA on January 31, 2012

It is a breakbarrel gun, pellet gets inserted where the rear sight is.
