Have had the Diana 470th. 22 for 18 months now. Very impressed at 80 yrds 1.5 inch groups. 50 yrds 3/4 inch At 40 yrds and closer the pellets start stacking them self one on top of the other making one hole. Jsb exact jumbo heavy 5.5mm 18.13 grains are its favorite next favorite field target trophy 14.? . But only after I had the rifle tuned. By that I mean that it was stripped down and greased up and ended up very smooth. Before the tune the spring was a bit Crunchy feeling and noisy and shot slow. Now its shoots 890 with the 18.13 and over 940 with the 14.?. I used to think it was my fault that I wasn't very accurate. Turns out that it was the crappie rifles i bought that i was told and read about that were supposed to be good. Crap crossman np2 crap. Np1 was a lot better. Gamo also crap. I guess you get what you pay for. I dont mind paying for quality. Let me put it this way.... when i go shooting i aim at a bullseye and i expect to hit that spot every shot after shot. Most accurate spring rifle you can buy. You won't be disappointed.

Pros
Great fun for showing of to your mates . Double safety system. Looks the business and feels the business. Best wood work of all guns. German precision. Feels solid.

Cons
Wouldnt want to carry it for hours on end. Would be Ok for a little while. Should come with a threaded barrel end for a possible suppressor. Because this rifle is shooting like a sniper rifle so it might as well be super stealthy quite.

This is my second Diana. As with the 56 I have used a great peep sight over the scope. This was a weight saving measure. It is accurate beyond any expectation. Mechanical finish superb. Overall finish is as good as it gets. Ease of use is my main concern, even at my age (over 65) it is easy to shoot all day! I have tried it from a bench with the scope and again it did not disappoint.I sold hand made Black Powder rifles to pay for these and I am not disappointed at all!

Pros
I feel it is the best of the best! I would thought with the sight for a Lyman ladder as with my Sharps. It has accuracy and ease of use that is unequaled! In fact I like it so much Ill go for the Shutzen next!

Cons
none

Is the 470th more accurate than the 460? I’m leaning toward the 460 in.22cal I’m looking for accuracy. What can you tell me. Thanks

asked Ron

Is this basically the same gun in terms of magnum power, spring, power plant, velocity etc as the Diana 460 magnum rifle?

asked Charlie

What’s the best rail and scope for the 470.

asked Greg

what scope would you recommend for this rifle 470 diana thought about a bulleye mount with the slide to get rid of the shock damaging the scope please help never shot with a scope before thanks buck

asked buck pickering

Could you tell me more about the "muzzle brake" that comes on the 470th 22 caliber? Is it a muzzle brake? Is it a blast chamber? Does it have a threaded removable cap on the end like the 56th does? I cant find any info or videos that talk about this. Thanks for the help.

asked Brent

Is this rifle accurate at 50 yards ?

asked James

asked Gabriel Venegas

Is it loud, is that a muzzle break r a suppresser....

asked bones

890 fps in .22, with lead or alloy?

asked Thomas from Mexico

With RWS Hobby 11.9 the shot spread I got was avg 939-921 that is a 10 shot Chrony and they are lead and with 14.3 cp I 873-865 pretty good average 5 shots only and got groups of .31 at 30 yards all lead! So numbers are real Henry.

I actually get a spread of 846-861 with a RWS superdomes and they weigh 14.5 and with 11.9 lead rws basics 935-941 so yep lead depending on pellet is a 890 if you use alloy ( I don't recommend ) will go above 1000fps.. Even Diana in Germany recommends lead pellets.. I guess better accuracy when below 950 period! I love to shoot around 850 so very happy with the results accurate to .75 so far up to 55 yards.. Beyond that I can't say!
