The CFX has a rotating breech. The owner's manual shown online mistakenly shows a pop-up breech.

The CFX Combo is the ultimate in fixed barrel accuracy combined with high velocity. The precision rifled barrel is permanently mounted to the receiver yielding the tightest of groups. It has a rifled steel barrel with a scope rail, fiber optic sights, a rugged synthetic stock and two stage trigger. This configuration comes with a GAMO 4x32mm airgun scope 1/4 MOA turrets, and rings. The Gamo CFX is the ideal rifle for the shooter that wants power-plus the accuracy of a fixed barrel rifle without having to pump the rifle 8 or 10 times. The CF-X delivers 1000 fps velocity with just one cock. Features a rifled steel barrel with a grooved receiver for mounting a scope, fiber optic sight, a rugged synthetic stock and two-stage trigger. Very accurate and powerful. When the rifle is cocked, the rotary breech allows you to place a pellet directly into the barrel. The barrel stays at a fixed position when cocking with the cocking lever.. The Gamo CF-X comes with Truglo Fiber Optic sights, a black, all-weather stock with a ventilated butt pad, twin-cheek pads, and a non-slip checkering.

Gamo CFX. You can't go better for an air rifle under $400
December 13, 2011
The CFX has superb accuracy and a fair bit of power. Powerful and accurate enough to kill a rabbit at 50 metres in the head (Using a Bipod and a 4-16x50mm scope). Just the other day I found out that there is an 11mm dovetail rail on the muzzle of the gun which makes for a perfect spot to mount a flashlight or bipod. I had to pay $420 for my CFX because of the laws and so on in Australia. Overall a great gun. You won't be disapointed
1. Accuracy (Very consistent at a range of distances) 2. Power (Not the most powerful air rifle but still strong enough to kill small game animals 3. Under lever action (Easier and quicker than break barrel) 4. 11mm rail at the muzzle (Good for a bipod or flashlight) 5. The sound it makes shooting PBA platinum pellets at dusk when there is no wind 6. The rotating breech (once you get used to it it becomes very quick and easy) 7. The sights (very bright even in low light conditions)
The only things I don't like about the CFX is - It's got a slightly large recoil (but what can you expect from an air rifle) - It doesn't have a cover around the front sight - The trigger is not the best but you get used to it

good gun

i have this gun for about three years now great gun,but theres a few minor problems if you are younger or smaller this isnt a gun for you its pretty heavy, and the iron sights look good but dont preform all to well but i put a 3x9x40 bushnell dusk to dawn scope and it shots very well. its mnily a bench gun . i went bird hunting with my freinds in the woods and its alot heavier than his silent cat. if you have a spot to shoot at this is your gun. if your going into the woods to hunt its not your gun.
shoots well relable

I bought one about 2 months ago...I have put down a few birds. I can say for accuracy it is great. I can keep a quarter size group at 40+yards every time. I love the solid build. The iron sites where not reliable for me. Not sure what was wrong. I do recommend the rifle though...I also loved the prices that airgundepo.com has and have not found another site to beat their prices. Thanks for a great rifle.

I bought this and the 3-9x40 Gamo scope together and couldn't be happier. It only took about a dozen shots to get it sighted it at around 40 yards. With the PBA the rounds are definitely breaking the 125 FPS mark, there is a distinctive crack produced when the round breaks the sound barrier. Great gun, great price, great customer service. Thank you Airgun Depot!

Gamo CFX Airgun

I've had this for a few weeks now. Still in the process of getting everything sighted in. Changed my scope to a 3X9X40 and mounted it on some lupois see through mounts. It just works better for me, did get the iron sights and red laser sighted in at 15yds. Just by using the laser aiming it at the target I can hit dead center with out looking through any sight at 15yds are 45'. Nice rifle will have more fun once it warm up a little more here in the mid-south.

This is an extremely accurate gun with the right ammo. I use Gamo Pro Magnum most commonly and can shoot an egg from about 25-30 meters.

Excellent rifle. Fell in love with it instantly. This is my first air rifle, but it is dead accurate. Love the weight and the sound. PBA makes a supersonic sound, but I like that sound as well. Overall great rifle for the price. Customer service is great too.

I have had this gun for 4 days now and it has performed right out of the box. The accuracy, consistency, and power is amazing for the cost. It took about 5 shots to zero in the scope, and now I can put four shots on top of each other at 35 yards using Gamo Red Fire pellets. Scope that came with it is a good scope, there is no zoom or objective adjustment but it works. I have had no problems with the trigger pull as some people have mentioned. As far as loading goes, if the pellet flips backward in the loading tray tip the barrel upward and pellet will flip back, most are forward heavy but doesn't happen with the red fire. My first kill was a rabbit @ 20yds., head shot and D.O.I.(dead on impact). Love the gun!

CFX .177
December 29, 2010
Great air rifle with good balance, power, and accuracy. I prefer the CFX because it has a steel rifled barrel, not the plastic jacket metal tube like the other Gamo. I like the CFX so much, I bought both the .177 and .22 caliber versions. For hunting, this rifle may be a little slow or cumbersome to load the pellets. However, this rifle is pretty safe to operate for a fixed barrel gun.

Great Accuracy, Slow-motion Reloads
December 15, 2010
Replaced a break-barrel with this rifle. With three or four rounds zero'ing it in, I cut out the bullseye with four shots at 50 feet, with the open sights. Scope is okay, but I replaced it with a 3x9 power scope, much better. At 120 feet, kept all 10 shots in bullseye or small first ring. Now for the only bad part: Reloading is TOUGH. You need to drop the pellet into the reload "channel" where it flips over backwards at least a third of the time. If you are far-sighted, be sure to wear your bifocal glasses. I would suggest using only pellets with an obvious which is front and which is rear shape.

Good but time consuming
October 26, 2010
First of all, I purchased this model through the AirgunsDaily deal site. It was remanufactured and with a price of $109.99 how could I go wrong. I was looking for a good "garage" rifle and with the synthetic stock, it looked good. I clicked the buy button after reviewing several other sites and took it on everyone elseās experiences, this was a good product. Packaging was great, instructions were great, fit and finish was better than I expected with a refurb item. My first negative would be the rear site isn't worth a Hoot since it was canted and remounting wouldn't fix it. No problem really, as I was going to scope it anyway. Cocking was nice. The loading port design did not impress me at all. (Maybe I'm just to used to my RWS 45,52s, 350 and 460) I was getting horrible 20 yard groups (4-5 inches) with several different types and brands of pellets. Rechecking the skirts after closing the loading gate, I discovered too much damage to the pellet and then started seating them into the chamber with a homemade pellet seater. What a difference. The groups shrunk to under an inch. The trigger is fair and the recoil is twangy. It still takes twice as long to reload this compared to one of my RWSs, but it will satisfy my needs in the garage or as a āloanerā.

Even though the scope is not the best, it was easy to mount and to range in. The CFX is quite accurate and fun to use. I particularly like the cocking mechanism.

i replaced my 15 year old crosmen powermaster with this an i love it i'm getting 8 round groups at 35 yards within 1/2 in. i use this to hunt small game like chipmunk, squirrle, and varmits. i droped a skunk at 40 yards with crosmen premiere hollow points killed 9 chipmunks, and a crow 65yards away i replaced scope with 3-9x40mm for better vision.

I think this is a great rifle and I found that Airgun Depot had the best price. I am replacing a break barrel rifle that started out pretty accurate but lately has been impossible to site in. I've been able to consistently achieve 1/2" sized groups at 25 yards with Crossman Premiere hollow points. I couldn't do near as well with the Gamo Magnums that I bought with it. I like the trigger just fine but I'm not crazy about the loading. One thing I do to save time when hunting is to load a pellet in the barrel and leave the next pellet in the in the breech funnel before closing it. I use the rifle for squirrel hunting. I get most of them with one shot.

I bought this gun with a nice scope because I heard the one they gave you was sh*t. It was well worth the money. I just sighted it in today and it was blowing hard but I just wanted to shoot it and sight it in. I was getting 1/2 inch group at 40yrds! I dropped a grackle at 25yrds, instant death.. Still stuck in our tree! This gun is incredible. There's nothing really to change except the scope.

This air rifle is an incredible value for the money. upon recieving my gun, I sighted it in with the iron sights and realized that Gamo had developed a winner. With the iron sights it was shooting half dollar sized groups at 20yrds and when I mounted the scope that came with it was shooting 10 shot quarter size groups at 25 yards. the scope isnt the best that came with it, but it is serving the purpose for now. I have only shot crossman premier hollow point pellets out of it so far and look forward to trying different pellets thru it. I am 1/1 on game killing with this rifle.(Killed a squirrel at 25yds with one shot thru the head.) Great gun and would recommend it to anyone!

Been shooting this rifle for a few days now with the stock 4x32 scope and one-piece accushot mount (wouldn't recommend separate ring mounts as they do not stay aligned very well). My first day I zeroed the scope and was getting less than 1 inch groups inside a 1 inch round bullseye at 25 yards. It's been a few days now, and the zero is still holding well. Took two starlings at 80 feet, and a tiny sparrow at 100 feet. Based on good reviews I used Crosman Premier hollow points. I am loving this rifle, and will be using it with a Leapers 3-9x32 which I am expecting to ship to me tomorrow. I am expecting to get a better grouping with this scope since I'll be able to see the 1 inch bullseye better at the 9x setting.

Just bought this rifle and i must say that airgun depot has best prices. This rifle is awesome. It is very accurate. Just as most people said in the past. The scope is junk but what do you expect for free. Trigger pull for me is not all that bad but I'm still going with the GRT III trigger. I suggest going with a BSA or Leapers scope. Loading the rifle is easy and only takes a few rounds to get use to it. Also CLEAN the rifle. I bought the Gamo maintenace center. The barrel was very dirty and I suggest cleaning it before use.

CFX Tactical

Amazing accuracy! I got the "Tactical" version with the BSA 3-9X40 scope. I've never even had any rifle of any sort before and I can group 1/8 inch at 10 yds. and 1/2 inch at 30 yds. That has to be the rifle since I've never even fired a gun before. I read all the other reviews before buying this rifle and I think this is definitely worth every cent. On mine, RWS Superpoint Extras and Superdome pellets group the best at longer ranges. The Gamo Pro Magnums it came with are fine at 10 yds. It's easy to zero in the scope and is not as hard to load as other reviews. Easier with pointed or domed pellets than flat heads. Since I don't have experience with other triggers, it seems just fine. The zoom scope is amazing. Couldn't ask for a better air rifle for the money!

Great Rifle
May 19, 2008
The Gamo CFX is an excellent rifle for the money. Its shoots dead on with easy adjustments right out of the box. The trigger does take getting used to but that is easily taken care of with a after market like a GRT III trigger. I did not like the Gamo scope or the fixed sites so I mounted a Nikko Gold Crown and have found 1/8" groops at 25 yards. This rifle is well worth the money ! Some people complain about the loading but I do not find it a problem. Mounting of too large of a scope could make loading harder if it comes to close to the breach. Under leaver calking is easy although my 15 year old does have some problems with that. The weight of the rifle feels just right. The stock is cool but kind of plane. Over all A GREAT RIFLE FOR THE PRICE !

CFX review
April 6, 2008
I just bought this air rifle a few day ago and I have already got it sighted in, both open sights and scope. This is my first high powered air rifle so I can't really compare it to anything, so I'll just give you my impressions from it, when I first got it out of the box I realized it was a bit heavy on the barrel end but I quickly got used to that and mounted the scope to start firing. The first three shots I had trouble getting the pellets into the camber, I had to use a small ramrod to get them into place, but after that they began to slide in with ease. after I started firing the first couple shots I noticed the smoke coming out of the barrel, I'm guessing this it how it's designed but I wasn't really sure since this is my first air rifle, normally I wouldn't give this a second thought but I was sighting in the gun in my basement and after a while it was all I could smell. Good points: underlever is easy to cock, dead accrute, love the adjustable open sights. Bad points: again like everyone else I found the rotary breech at bit difficult to load at first but when your shooting this gun you'll be having to much fun to care about it. Overall: This is a great gun I'm sure it will last forever because my father has a gamo air pistol from the 80's and it still works today. I'd recommend this gun to anyone, the only problem is you can't really step up from this gun, except for one air rifle I saw in a Canadian store, but but at $600 your better first sticking with this gun.

Smoking!! No Really!!

When I finally received my CFX, I knew I was getting a good rifle. The other pellet gun I had was a break barrel, (1000 fps) but had less accuracy( barrel would flex/move), I would say, a 6 inch group at 35 yards. I mounted a 3x9 power scope on my CFX and once shot in, produced a group the size of a dime at 35 yards! Varmits now check in, but they don't check out.

April 28, 2007
Love it. A high powered air riffle you can scope with confidence. A scope stop is a must with the stock scope. It will take down a squirrel with ease. Easy to cock for a gun so powerful. Breech loader is a little difficult to load certain pellet types, but the rock solid fixed barrel is a much better tradeoff.

This is a pretty nice entry gun for someone looking into buyig an adult air rifle. Powerful and can easily take a squirrel or crow at 25 yards with a good shooter. Only bad things is that the trigger is creepy (not smooth, hard to tell when gun will fire) but It does break in and you will get used to it after a while. Also loading is a little awkward with the ratary breech but it is fine. Great gun. Note: for serious shooters you may want a scope stop and better scope rings-they're really cheap.
