Sometimes things are just made because they can be made. Add to that list the world's first .30 caliber break-barrel, part of the Carnivore series, the new caliber added to Hatsan?s premier break barrel Model 135. The Mod 135?s include everything that makes Hatsan break barrel?s special, including their Vortex gas piston, Turkish Walnut stock with adjustable Monte Carlo comb, fiber optic open sights, their highly regarded QuietEnergy barrels, and their equally acclaimed Quattro Trigger.

A handsome gun no matter what caliber you prefer, though I dare you to resist owning the world's first big bore break barrel. We were able to obtain 30 ft lbs of energy using the .30 caliber beast. And you shouldn?t have to worry about it chewing up scopes as long as you have a decent air gun rated scope on top. We were surprised that the double recoil was much less than other high power magnum power break barrels!

All expectations met and exceeded, the Hatsan Vortex 135 QE is the most incredible and awesone air rifle I've ever held, owned or shot. A 15 out of 10 all day every day!

Pros
First things first. If you're new to Airgun Depot, you're in for an incredible purchasing experience from start to finish. Browsing AD's website is a pleasure, ordering is a breeze, they 're right there with your order updates, and WOW is their order processing and shipping fast! I placed my order for the Twang and Bang Combo on Wed Aug. 2 at 10AM, and it arrived Fri Aug. 4 at 11AM. Thank you very much Airgun Depot! The Hatsan rifle and accessories arrived well packaged and in perfect condition. I opted for the .30 cal variant. This rifle is absolutely beautiful and superb in every way, and the Turkish walnut stock is something to behold. It's heavy, but I knew that going in and don't care. The Hawke Vantage IR scope is a beast, and a perfect compliment to the rifle. The UTG scope rings are nice and beefy. Very impressed with how much you get and how much you save with the T&B Combo. Honestly I couldn't be any more thrilled and happy with this rifle!

Cons
The only thing I'd change is the same thing everyone else would change, the 50lb cock to break the barrel! But it's so worth the effort!

Would Love to have this or similar in a .357 caliber.

Pros
Hits HARD and accurate, Fun to shoot. Adjust for drop and you're good to go for distance. Fires JSB and Vortex Strike pellets very well.

Cons
Include a removable barrel extension to lessen the force needed to cock this bad boy?

This is my favorite break barrel Ive owned. Great performance for the price point. Great varmint gun. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a large cal. Air rifle. No issues so far.Great gun for the money

Pros
Hard hitting, break barrel, double nitro pistons. I own this rifle and love every moment I get to shoot with it.its pretty accurate right out of the box. Great for small game hunting too.

Cons
Its a large heavy rifle due to the double piston technology. Mine is .30 cal. So its harder to find ammo. Stock up when you find ammo if its .30 cal. And the cocking is quite a job especially when the gun is new.

Other then heavy, And a very hard cocking lever, This is not a casual backyard target rifle, This is more for pest control. When I first got it, It was as loud as a standard load .22, Echo heard thru the woods, Now it is pretty quiet. I have been using Ruger 1.1g Superpoint .22 cal (5.56mm) pellets. The wood stock is outstanding! Very nice, ( I used boiled linseed oil to rub on the stock and really brought out the color and grain real good), And adjustable trigger works good. Overall this is a very good rifle for the money. I would buy again if needed. Thanks

Pros
I have the .22 cal version, Very powerful, Instant kill on a woodchuck @ about 15 yards just peeking outta his burrow. ( he saw me earlier and ran) Great headshot! Where I live I can't shoot live .22s due to close neighbors, But this rifle fills the bill.

Cons
Not really a complaint But it is hard to cock, And it is heavy, But it is a quality rifle

Hatsan Mod 130S Vortex QuietEnergy .30cal Airgun, Black Synthtic single shot break barrel pump 560fps best pellet in mine is Hatsan Vortex Strike .30cal...they make very satisfying “WOP or SMACK “!!!! -50 yards head or neck shot on ~ deer, hog, whatever can be humanely dispatched. Sound emitted is 33mm piston and pellet impact. Eye protection a must, hearing protection not needed but recommended. Everyone that shoots mine wants to buy it . Nope!

Pros
Bot this version first. Those very painful pointed should stock tip can and will every shot bruise your shoulder AND your inner thigh area as your charging this beast. There is a definite harmonics jaw rattling with your check bone next to the stock in firing positions. If you place the stock on the ground you’ll damage those points. And if you place the stock on top of say tennis shoes or even boot, those same pint will damage you. Just take it from a disability Ret former LEO / Armorer, Fed agent , federal park ranger… they refused to least the weight at10+ lbs without scope . My 6x24-56 AO Fantastic Leapers UTG easily handles up to .50BMG. Folks you want the much lighter synthetic black adjustable check stock. Impervious to weather , much more difficult to damage compared to beautiful Turkish hardwood. My point versions rear sight was damaged . I used my scope regardless, you get giddy with accuracy and power of .30 pellets out to 80 yards. Depending eye sight, ksa’s

Cons
Both are ~50 lbs cocking effort! Man up! Always keep a firm grip even after you’ve cocked the barrel. Only takes one time pulling the tree offer or losing your grip and the barrel slams close permanently bending the barrel and warranty. Wasted a lot of time doing this critique! Just buy this one: Hatsan Mod 130S Vortex QuietEnergy .30cal Airgun, Black Synthtic single shot break barrel pump 560fps. And clean the sound reduction equipment. Picture Rt To Lt Both Open Plastic Thimble to breach Then Both Fabric Covered Baffle this allows pronged barrel screw cap to secure and seat in properly- the only way it will fit back together!!! Clean in Dawn liquid soap with water in screw cap contained for each separate of 4 pieces , rinse in clean water container and air dry & reassembled in exact order described here! From Hatsan s website somewhere

Don't hesitate. Drop the $$$. You won't be disappointed.

Pros
I ordered this rifle in .25 cal and it was the right decision. I know this is the 1st big bore springer in .30 but I thought the fps. was a bit low. I am truly pleased with this gun. A couple tweaks after I mounted a scope and this beast will one hole it at 40 yes. all day long. Always been partial to springers but this rifle is truly special. I think I like it more than my Bullboss in .25.

Cons
It is almost 10lbs. naked. With scope and sling(must) it comes in a little under 12. It's a bear to carry around for several hours.

I've owned 3 yes, Three of these, one was never canceled from another store. It's a shame the gas piston doesn't hold up. Next time HATSAN. Please, spend a little longer time on R&D. I have three other model HATSANS never any problems only this particular model HATSAN 135 QE!.

Pros
It's a beautiful walnut wood stock. It hits like a beast all mine were in 22 cal.

Cons
The air piston fails after a year give or take?

I'm writing this in hopes that Timothy the guy on here that left a review on here she's what I'm writing he said that 30 caliber pellets are hard to find well I don't know why he can't find them but if you go on Amazon they have hoards and hordes of them all different types I have not yet bought this gun but I sure do plan on it in the next couple of weeks I will own one

Pros

Cons
As far as I can tell I don't think there are any thing that I would not like about this guy

Basing the pellet weights at 14.3, 26.24, and 50 grains respectively it seems that the kinetic energy is 43, 44.5, and 45.6 joules with the advertised muzzle velocities. This indicates the .22 is the better choice if you are not required to keep lower muzzle velocity by legal limitations. And that maximum power output would be achieved with heavy .22 caliber pellets. Is there any other legitimate reason to select the larger more expensive pellets as preferred?

This message is for Kevin, I hope you will find it and that it comes handy. Look for Mike Ellingsworth channel in youtube and see if you can get in touch with him to find out about repairing and/or servicing to your rifle. I'm quite confident that Mike can put your gun back on the field. Good luck buddy.

asked noble from USA

There is no model 135s. There is 130S . The powerplants look to be pretty much the same. The 130S has a synthetic stock. The 135 an adjustable wooden stock.

asked Toufik from Canada

If it can kill a racoon I think If you get a head shot your Chances will be likely

Nick from USA

I'm curious if anyone can tell me. I understand that the 30cal is a beast but is the 30 really better than the 22 or 25? Is the 30 as accurate as the 22 or 25. I'm asking because I'm very interested in the 30cal but also wonder why it's on sale and not the other calibers. CURIOUS

asked Dana from USA

What kind of FPS am i looking at using a 20 grain H&N Field target trophy pellet 750 is a little slow using a 23 grain H&N Hornet in .25 cal.

asked Edward Yancey Jr

What would you say the effective range of this gun is against medium game? Also can this gun take out a coyote? I am planning on getting an air gun for pest control and possibly using to hunt medium game on a budget. I am planning on getting it chambered in 30 cal if I get this model.

asked Cayden Douglass

I can buy in india

asked Ankush salve

Would this work well for raccoon ? I have quite a few that try to get in my chicken coop at night and .22 lr subsonic only has had mixed results at dispatching the threat. I don't want to use high velocity .22 out of respect for my neighbors but thought maybe a .30 cal pellet might be more effective. Thoughts ?

asked jeremiah from USA

Are you able to go deer hunting with this?

asked Hunter Laubenstein

in most states u need a .30 pcp but check your regulations

Nick from USA

What is the muzzle volisity of this rifle

asked William

I am seriously thinking about this rifle. I've found some pellets That more resemble a .45, .50 cal in design. About 80 and 100 Grain. Would these still work in this style rifle? They are Sold in lots of 100 on eBay as .30/.308 cal. I'm no ballistics Expert though I do have an extensive firearms background, But isn't it false to classify a .30 and a .308 as the same Size pellet/slug?

asked Danny croft

Will the 0.25 drop a coyote at 50 yards?

asked Dale Baker

What's the largest game you could hunt with the .30 cal of this? small deer, maybe? thank you

asked Ash

Can it take out a coyote?

asked Jonathan from USA

Hey guys thanks in advance for helping a newbie out. I am interested in the .25 cal. I know it will fit my hunting and pest control needs. 1. how adjustable is the trigger - does anyone know what the lowest poundage I can set? 2. Pest control will be at a farm and the farmer who is currently my friend and I want to keep it that way, had dairy cows, so I am hoping that the report will be subtle. If not, is there after market systems that might be able to help quiet this big boy down? Not concerned about the sound of the pellet hitting the target but the report of the gun it self. 3. what kind of bipod will work well with this gun? Again, thanks for the help.

asked Dean Forrest

Would you recommend this for turkey hunting and if so in what caliber?

asked Bruce

I couldn’t find a complete list of what all comes in the box. What all comes in the box? Sling?

asked Mark from USA

What is the length of pull in inches ( distance from trigger to shoulder )?

asked David

After reading the comments about this rifle I have to seriously ask Are airgunners wimps? I have rifles that weigh twice as much, granted, they are in serious calibers, such as .338 Lapua and .50 BMG among others, but a rifle under ten pounds is no big deal, and fifty pounds COCKING weight, well Id say its time to start doing some push ups. this rifle is in the same weight range as the M1 Garand and the M14 are, unloaded. Someone Please let me know that these complainers are the exception, and not the rule!

asked Scott

so it it just like a pump rifle, or do you have to fill it with gas?

will this shoot a raccoon out of a tree with a head shot?
