Nice shooting gun at a nice price.

By David H.

Wife loves it. Just the sound sends pest running. I'm glad of that because I was the one that had to pick up the bodies. Slick looking...Left it laying on the coffee table on purpose when a friend was coming over. When he saw it he thought it was a real Beretta.

This gun is amazing. The blow back action is unreal. The safety is a tad bit tough but it gives me more security whether it is on or off. I love the weight of the gun. It adds to the realistic features. Very accurate shooting .2 inch groupings from about 15ft. Very powerful gun as well. My only problem is the difficultly in loading the CO2 (wasted about 2-3 cartridges due to improper installing). Although i still could get off a few powerful shots while the cartridge was leaking. Considering on buying another one for dual equipped shooting

Did not last long enough.

Pros
Nice feel feels like the real PX4 of which I own one.

Cons
Not reliable. Had trouble early on with the magazine needing something to pry it out. Then at the end of summer of shooting the trigger froze after pulling the trigger. I sent it back to Umarex and they quoted me a list of parts needing replaced and quoted me $94 to fix it. For that kind of money I could buy a similar gun so I said no thanks. Whatever I replace it with won't be from Umarex.

Is this gun field strippable like the real gun?

asked Bill from USA

is this a .177 caliber pistol

asked Daniel from USA

Hi Daniel. It states this pistol shoots both .177 pellets and bbs but don't use bbs because the barrel of the pistol is rifled..Bbs with strip the rifling and then you can't accurately fire bbs or pellets.

paul doucette from Canada

Hello PX 4 Beretta Storm CO 2. 177 Blowback Accurate Metal Heavy w / Extra Mag Beretta PX 4 Storm BB & Pellet Pistol I want this gun. There are regulations on air guns in Japan. It seems that it becomes illegal with 0.970 J in terms of 4 mm conversion. If it is initial speed conversion 0.12 g â†' 127.14 m / s 0.20 g â†' 98.48 m / s 0.25 g â†' 88.09 m / s What is the initial speed 380 fps, how many grams? I think that it is necessary to have a lighting document at the time of purchase, so I want you to be able to lower the power and import it to Japan. I am waiting for a good reply. from Japan

Does this have a complete blow back system, or do you have to rack the slide prior to throwing a round downrange?

asked Vlad

Does this have a complete blow back system, or do you have to rack the slide prior to throwing a round downrange?

asked Vlad

The PX4 is fairly unique, in that it does have the added functionality of being a "dual ammo" capable CO2 pistol. With that being said, it differs greatly from the "traditional" style of blowbacks, in that the CO2 cartridge is loaded separately from the magazine. The cartridge is loaded into the back of the grip (via a removable cover), and remains static inside the pistol during reloads. The magazine itself, is loaded into the grip from the bottom (forward of the CO2 cartridge), and it's MOA (method of action) function, works essentially the same as a revolver cylinder. Except that it's completely concealed inside the pistol. So once the pistol is charged with the CO2, and the magazine is inserted, it's ready to go. In other words, there is no need to pull the slide back in order to feed the first round into the chamber. It's already there. As with a revolver, all one has to do is pull the trigger. As you do this, the slide does "blow back", simulating a traditional semi auto feed pistol. At the same time, the mechanical action of the trigger pull rotates the magazine's cylinder, lining up the next pellet to be fired. I hope this answers your question. I don't know for sure what you meant by a "complete blow back system." One thing to note is that once the rotary cylinder is empty of pellets, the slide does not "lock back", with the barrel exposed, as does the Sig Sauer X-Five CO2 pistol does, for example. That pistol uses a full drop out magazine, that houses both the BBs, as well as the CO2 cartridge itself. In the X-Five, the first BB is introduced by pulling the slide back, and the BBs are spring pressure fed upwards. Once empty, the slide locks back, exposing the barrel. Which is more of what I would term a "complete blowback system." ~MF

what laser will fit this gun?

asked bob

The Specs for the New gun vs Refurbished gun are different. The Specs on the New gun say Rifled barrel, but the Specs on the Refurbished gun say Smooth Bore. Which are correct?

asked Paul

The new pistol is rifled. Perhaps the refurbished one was used with bbs not pellets and this ruined the rifling. Maybe to sell the gun the barrel had to be bored?

paul doucette from Canada

What sort of distance are you getting from this gun? & would I have to be close range to the target? Honest replies only,

asked Tiani

Im accurate at 15 to 25 feet

Rich from USA

best accuracy at 25-30 foot max. in warm weather after 48 shots the power begins to gradually drop, will shoot 54 shots and still recycle but you have to move closer to target as it will shoot low. best accuracy is acheived by pulling the trigger till it has a noticeable "first stage" (rotates magazine) then a clean short pull to fire.

james

distence depends on the weather [ the colder it it the closer you must shoot , say 20 feet . /the warmer the weather back up say 100 feet . Pellets are MUCH MORE accurate than BB's

barry from USA

Can I used the Gamo Red Fire Pellet on this gun? I heard that on some guns the pellets get jammed.

asked Jesus

If the pellet isn't sitting flush in the magazine, it will probably jam.. I haven't used gamo redfire though..

Ugljesa from USA

No you can't use pellets with any kind of Teflon tip. Only pure lead pellets will work reliably.

Paul from USA

Gamo red fire pellets are basically for hunting purpose. Where as PX4 is a pistol for plinking and fun. These pellets are designed for air rifles with atleast 600 fps. Where as PX4 can give a maximum 400fps. These pellets are designed to fit tightly so that it maintains the accuracy and velocity in air rifles. Whereas PX4 magazine is made of plastic or polymer which can be damaged with a tight fit pellets and chances of jamming are more. I suggest a simple pellet or steel BB is best to get more life and good accuracy from PX4. As per my observation, steel BB gives more fps compared to a pellet. I get up to 380 to 395 fps with umarex steel BBs. If hunting is your main purpose, PX4 can serve your purpose up to 10 to 15 meters distance a pigeon sized bird or animal.

Kiran from India

can i attach a new reail system to be able to use a red dot sight? is so then what brand is best to use?

asked junior

no, the slide is not well suported and has play when it cycles, I put a laser on bottom rail a cheap one) and it is pretty good but these are hard to adjust correctly, You might have to aim a little high or low wijth the fixed sights but fairly consistent, this is not an extremely accurate gun but is fun to shoot and can nock hell out of 3" targets consistently cans ect.

james

You can only use a red dot if you had the RECON version of this gun

STEVEN from USA

use any brand you like ! ! !

barry from USA

You can use the universal intermount, but you have a lot of filing to do so it won't hit the slide.I also lined it with scotch tape so any contact eliminates scratches.Good luck.Elliott

Elliott J from USA

Does this lockback?

asked Bill from USA

No it does not hold open, the Staff's information is inaccurate.

Wilson

This is a blowback gun and features a last round hold open just like the real thing!

Scott from USA

Scott from USA

I want to purchase this gun, I have never purchased and nearly ever used a BB/air gun, what else do I need for it, can you send me a few links to the pellets/BB's I need to get and anything else?

asked Boris Muchnik

I prefer to use 100% silicone oil..its better then Pellgun oil. If it starts to leak co2 point the gun down and pour the oil into the gun where the cartridge is pierced.Let it stand for a few minites..This will soften and swell the seal for a tighter snug leak free seal.

paul doucette from Canada

As well as the comment already stated, have some bore oil I use every 300 or so shots....soak a cleaning tab and push it through, teist it out. can find a. 177, 22 cleaning kit for about $10 to $15. I also use a dab on gun oil on the moving parts/slide.

Rich from USA

You need to buy pellgun oil and put one drop on the tip of your CO2,you need pellets and some lind of stick to put down the barrel just to get chunks of dirt out in case your drop it,I would at least have 2 mags when you buy a gun in case one gets faulty.

Maximum speed pellets pistol for

asked Sergio from USA

This pistol will give you 380 fps with a heavier pellet and up to 450 fps with say a 7g pellet.

paul doucette from Canada

I wasn't aware that pellets had a speed rating and I'm certainly not convinced that they do... The H&N Baracuda Hunter pellets work exceptionally well with this gun. They have superior accuracy and knockdown power compared to the penny saver pellets like Crosman and Daisy.

Daniel from USA

when you planning have more in stock.

Scott from USA

Is this gun good for finishing a squirrel at point blank?

asked Tim

I would say yes if the CO2 is full or near full, but point blank? This really isn't a pest control weapon. This one is more of a plinker/target pistol than anything. I would recommend something that is more suited for pest control that would take devastating ammo to ensure you get it right the first time and don't cause inhumane injuries to these little creatures, pests or not.

Ted

Probably sufficient. Not ideal.

Sam from USA

is this pistol slide back like a blow back

asked michael from USA

Yes it does have blowback. The first half dozen shots or so the blowback is unbelievable. After that it levels out to a more controllable recoil and holds steady for an additional 50-60 shots then tapers off quite rapidly.

Ted from Canada

Yes

Sam from USA

is it worth it I need an airsoft pistol that is strong reliable and not to over priced

asked p

Airsoft means plastic bbs, this shoots metal bbs and pellets. Unless you want blowback specifically, go for something like an m&p 45. It's cheaper and the blowback wastes a lot of co2.

Sam from USA

I am having a problem with the safety on my px4 storm air gun. When the safety is off sometimes the gun will not fire unless I push up hard on the safety lever. Is this a common problem, and is there an easy fix for this issue.

asked Jimi

I bought one of these for my brother for Christmas. We did not have any problems with the safety but it did skip pellets in the clip. In other words it would advance the clip two positions instead of one. We only shot this gun one time, used one CO2 cartridge and I would estimate that we shot approximately 100 pellets before it started to fall off on the velocity. I did not like the trigger pull but it seems that that is a pretty common problem on most air guns. The accuracy was not exactly what I would like but we did not shoot it very much so it may be better as we get used to it.

Jim from USA

Here is a dumb question. Are you sure the safety is 100% off when trying to shoot? I know on my px-4 that turning the safety on and off is kind of difficult because the safety lever is very tight.

Peter from USA

I have not had this problem with the PX-4 Storm

I'm looking for a pistol that will shoots bbs & pellets. And will shoot a good distance for target. please give some options. pistol under $100 please

asked Willy

Willy, as previously mentioned, this pistol is NOT all metal. The receiver/frame is made of a plastic/polymer, however is high quality and does not feel cheap. The slide is indeed metal. Now if you want accuracy, do not pick this one as it has fixed sights and that doesn't help. It's hit and miss whether your pistol will be accurate or not. I won't suggest a specific pistol because that is an individual preference but I will suggest this: Select a pistol that has adjustable rear sight for both windage and elevation. Having a picatinny or weaver rail under the barrel s nice for adding accessories such as lasers or tactical lights. Look towards Umarex products as they share a common 8 round pellet clip and separate but common 8 round bb clip as well. That way you only have to buy extra clips and share them amongst multiple Umarex pellet and bb shooters. There is a great variety to select from so have fun and read my reviews on them as I own lots and enjoy all of them.

Ted from Canada

A couple downsides when it comes to this gun. The CO2 doesn't last too long (because of the recoil, which is expected) and the magazine is plastic (entire gun is made of metal). It's still worth it and the accuracy is pretty dead on so if you are looking for something under $100 I would buy this one.

Edwin from Canada

Willy-I own 4 air pistols, and this one is the best. BB/Pellet clip hold 16 rounds and it is a very powerful gun. The price can't be beat either! GOOD LUCK

David from USA

How powerful is this air gun?

asked Richard Hayes

Not a good pistol! Shoots completely off the sights. Totally useless! Don't waste money on it.

F

Quite powerful and I was also surprised by its accuracy. I have shot over 1000 pellets with this gun and I am still amazed. With regards to power, one must always take into consideration the ambient temperature in which the pistol finds itself, as well as the rate at which it is fired. CO2 cartridges are pretty sensitive to ambient temperatures (warmer environment = higher and longer lasting power) New cartridges provide high FPS rates for the first 30-40 shots then you will experience a continuous drop in FPS rates and power..up to about 60 shot per cartridge. I trust you will find this information helpful. Happy plinking !!!!

Denis from Canada

It is very powerful, and the kick back is pretty good too. I have been using the Gamo Power Pellets,' and they cut right into squirrels and really knock them down.

David from USA

what is the fps am worried about the power

asked bob

This thing fires at 380fps and the first two full clips you fire Through it you can't even see the round! It's not till the third Clip that you can start to track your rounds with the naked eye! Have fun!

asked Robbie

IF ONLY IF you SWITCH between co2 brands does this come into play if u switch co2 brands it is smart to shoot a whole co2 canister at a time because if you leave the canister in the gun then you can only use that brand of co2 because any other brand you try to use will have leaks(this apllies to any gun)But to answer your question i usally go through a bottle a shoot out.

I have a deer problem and I think hitting them with a pellet might work. What is the effective range of the pellets to sting the deer?

asked Vic S

I foud accuracy up to about 40 feet. Had problems with it jamming / mis firing though. Loaded with pellets the revolving part of the mag sticks or doesn't always rotate all the way causing the projectile to stay in the mag. When trying to load BB's they have a tendancy to fall out while your trying to load. I would not recomend this gun at all. Try a Walther CP99 compact BB. Holds 18 BB's and fires perfectly as fast a you can squeeze every time. Is almost as reliable as my new S&W M&P 9MM, teaching my kids firearm fundamentals with it as well.

William from USA

Depending on the pellet, CO2 will only push it so far... The pistol is very accurate, but the CO2 limits the effective range to about 50-60 feet... I used it rid my pool deck of skunks from about 25 feet away... VERY effective at that range, especially with PBA gold or platinum... any greater distance though and the only thing about it that spooks 'em is the noise... and they get used to that quick... for any distance or uphill I use my rifles, RWS 350 Mag in .177 or Trail NP XL1100 in .22, That gets their attention immediately... wont even come in the yard now... at any range. But the pistol is good at short range and especially when you need quick follow-up shots. Sometimes they need to be convinced. I have the Tactical version with the long barrel (fake suppressor) and rails for sight, 2 flashlights and a laser. The longer barrel helps with extending the range a bit, and the sight/lights/laser help with aiming at twilight.

Alan from USA

How accurate is it and at what distances? Is the trigger easy or hard to fire? Is it easy loading the oxygen? Have you tried any other guns you like better?

asked Alan Brown

You would probably like the CP99 Compact..It holds 18 rounds of bbs only..innovative cartridge..good power and blow back.I recently bought the px4 storm..but my next purchase will be the CP99 Compact which is only $85.00 US funds..cheaper then the px4 but both are quite similar..

paul doucette from Canada

It is more accurate than one would think. I use it a about 30 feet, and shoot pretty good groups (less than 4'"). It is rifled, but I have doubts about running steel BBs through the rifling - does not seem wise. I've only used lead pellets, and had the best result with domed or flats (wadcutters). Pointed pellets seem to be a disaster; they may tumble, but I cannot tell. The trigger is quite normal, not too difficult, but smooth, with no jerks. Loading is not extremely easy, but not a pain; it's best to get multiple clips and fill them up ready to go. The CO2 mechanism is as easy as any pistol, but the tension adjustment is a little tricky - to get the set screw in the correct position to seal the canister. It's biggest selling point is that it is very inexpensive, and extremely well built - no mars, carefully machined parts. It very, very accurately resembles the real thing, probably more so than any other in its price class. If it is pure accuracy you want, I would move up, spend more, and go with the Walther CP88B. That is an *extremely* accurate pistol, comes in a case, and is easier to load (cylindrical clips that you can pre-load). It is not as attractive as the Beretta perhaps, but it is incredibly accurate. But in its price range, for a replica, this Beretta is as good as it gets. I doubt you'd be disappointed.

David from USA

Hi, If I fire this gun with loaded CO2, but empty pellet magazine, will the slide still blow back? Thanks!

Can anyone recomend the best compatable laser mount for this Beretta?

asked Don from USA

Crosman Centerpoint Quick Acquisition Laser Sight. This one fits well if you change the mount from a dove tail to the other one included. As for the quality of the laser, it does its job but is nothing out of this world.

Ameen from Canada

Is this plastic or metal?

asked Rick

This gun is made of almost all metal. The co2 cover and some simple non-moving parts are plastic.

Steve from USA

Can anybody recommend a gun case for this Pistol? Not too expensive mind, but Hard/soft case is fine.

asked Luke from Spain

https://www.airgundepot.com/doskocil-gg10137.html /\ /\ /\ that would be a good case for this pistol. Under $12!

Conor from USA

Is this good for protection from people, not just sport? I.E Home intruders, etc?

asked John Wiliams

I do not recommend using this for home defense. It doesn't have nearly enough power and it has slower loading as well as requires CO2 which cannot be left in the gun. It would hurt to get shot by though.

Scott from USA

Hi, can you please tell me how much after tax and shipping it will cost me to buy this item? I live in Montreal Canada!

Test from USA

I read some bad reviews about the magazine. What's your opinion?

asked Luiz

I own this gun and so far no problems, although the BBs on the very bottom of the clip and mag might fall out when shooting due to the nice blowback but BBs arent recommended for Rifled barrels. Rounded nose pellets fit nice but just dont use pointed tips with rotary mags.

Living_Laser

for the c02 cartridges, how many shots does it take for the co2 to runout

asked bob

I just got mine last week and tested it but in is cold this time of year where I am so in 35 degree weather I got 45 good shots and then I noticed the fps drop. I know in warmer weather it should do better than that and judging by similar guns I own I would say that the number should be about 60 good shots.

robert from USA

you can go several mags (8+8) before needing to change ... if you shoot fast, though, you'll have to change more often. I would say that a box of 5 Co2 cartriges will last you an afternoon of shooting in normal conditions.

Sean

The blowback feature uses up more co2 so I've found it only shoots about 4 clips.

James from USA

Approx 50 shots per CO2 canister

Ryan from USA

Hi, What is the best method to use when changing the air cartridge? I am having difficulty getting it pierce the cartridge then turn the bottom cover without releasing the air. I lubricated the screw that touches the bottom, the screw are between the cover and the bottom of the grip and the rotating guide on the inside. Thanks

asked Jim

I had this same problem and You just need to run the plastic wheel up as tight as possible but it's not easy to do it with your fingers so I oiled the top and bottom of the canister and after tightening with my fingers as much as I could it worked. This will get easier as the gun breaks in.

robert from USA

Make sure that you have the piercing screw, which the one on the bottom of the grip, loosened all the way before tightening the thumbscrew that holds the CO2 cannister in place. If the piercing screw is not turned loosened all the way the thumbscrew that holds the cannister in place will not be tight enough to allow the piercing screw to penetrate the cannister. On my copy I find that I have to tighten the thumbscrew quite a bit for everything to work properly. I recommend that you use a drop of pellgun oil or RWS chamber lube on the tip of the CO2 cannister to keep the seals supple.
