This Walther Talon Magnum Air Rifle is a powerful .177 caliber rifle that features a robust spring piston break barrel mechanism for maximum velocity with just one cock of the air rifle. At an amazing 1200 feet per second with a standard lead pellet and a zooming 1400 fps with a hyper velocity pellet, this 177 caliber air gun is an ideal air rifle for plinking and small pests. It's made of a strong, weather resistant synthetic stock. It's topped with a sturdy rail for holding the included 3-9x32 air gun scope with duplex reticule. It also has TruGlo fiber optic sights for use without the scope. Unique to this pellet rifle is its adjustable length of pull provided by removing or adding the included inserts between the vented recoil pad and the stock. This magnum rifle also sports a Monte Carlo stock design with a right-hand cheek piece and checkering in the grip and forearm. This Walther rifle has an automatic safety and large muzzle brake to ease its operation and handling. This Talon Magnum air rifle by Walther is one of the best quality, high velocity rifles with a black synthetic stock on the market.

Unlike the normal Walther Talon Magnum this rifle holds only a 30 day warranty directly through us. However Umarex USA the importers of this rifle are able to service this rifle at a cost though.

A beast of an airgun
May 2, 2014
You will get a good work out cocking this gun, not back yard friendly; it is as loud as a .22LR. Heavy pellets calm it down significantly but cocking effort is still a chore. It is made by Hatsan in Turkey, quality is generally good and velocity is as advertised; other manufacturers tend to inflate their gun's velocity and use light pellets to test their guns in the expense of accuracy. I own few other Hatsans and the synthetic stock does not hold up to the recoil. I haven't notice any crack or loose screws yet... only 100 shots through the rifle so time will tell.
Will impress your friends, maybe the biggest gun in your collection

Quality control is nonexistant
March 17, 2013
I ordered this "refurbished" Walther Talon Magnum .177 hoping that I'd may have good luck with a refurbished product. Boy was I the unlucky one! The barrel was cracked where it breaks and the scope and scope mounting rings were not in the package. The crack was visible as soon as I opened the box, there in plain sight. I don't know what they classify as "refurbished" but this was just very poor workmanship or quality control. I called Airgun Depot about this and was told I'd have to call Umarex concerning the missing scope and if I didn't like what I hear from them then I could return it. Now that's customer service right?! You buy a product from them and you get no assistance afterwards. Talk about taking the money and running! Their return policy is pretty clear though, 30 days to return afterwards. It will take you that amount of time because their returns people took about that long to reply to me and give me a RMA#. And don't even try talking to returns over the phone, they don't take phone calls. Anyways, good luck to you if you choose to purchase.

Hard hitting bargain
March 9, 2013
Other than the R stamped in front of the serial number, this rifle appears and performs as new. It's accurate, out to about 20 yards with external sights but that may be limited by my aging vision. I installed a 6-24X50 UTG scope enabling me to make accurate 50 yard shots using H&N or RSW pellets. Remember, this is a magnum and it rewards you with magnum recoil in both directions. At this price you should make this your next purchase.
Overall quality and attention to detail. Very accurate. Love that magnum recoil but that's a plus for me. Might not be for everyone.
A little stiff overcoming the spring pressure while cocking and the trigger pull is heavy and takes some getting used to. Trigger pull initially caused me to pull some shots.

Happy with purchase
February 14, 2013
I received the gun quickly and the order was filled properly. All parts were in the box and ready to go. The rifle is surprisingly accurate and powerful. My previous rifles were capable of about 600 fps - this one is very strong. It is also loud, probably about the same as a standard .22 rifle. For my purposes, the noise is not a problem, but don't expect a quiet rifle. Not thrilled with the scope as I can not get the image clear no matter how many adjustments I make. Although, it is clear enough to shoot accurate patterns on paper targets in decent light. The iron sights are very good and adjustable. For hunting, I will probably use the iron sights.
Accuracy and power.
Noise and standard scope.

The Beast

The gun is extremely powerful and built very study. It's extremely fun to shoot and hold. The sights are excellent. The only setback is the gun is a little loud but hopefully it will quiet down after shooting more rounds. My gun came in perfect condition even though its refurbished.

i purchesd a remand walther 17 cal. and it was a sent back as with a deffect however the one i got in exchange is badass i am shooting through the side of a stove and at thirty yards the pellets travel right through stops about 2 feet behind the target and the pellet is just destroyed this air gun is fantastic and is a fine piece of workmenship

I really like this gun?
January 30, 2010
Alittle Heavy and alittle loud, but it is really accurate and a pride to my collection. It needs a better scope, but once you put on your choice of scope (make sure it is a pellet gun scope due to heavy recoil). I'm sure you will agree. NICE .177 PELLET GUN. I already have it's bigger cousin the Falcon Hunter .22 cal. and the same comments on that one. I might have the crosman nitro upposed to the spring piston due to the noise and recoil. If it works out well, I will do the same to the talon. Couldn't tell that either one was referbished.

Review Part 2
October 12, 2009
This is a follow-up to my first review of my refurb rifle's condition. I wanted to add a few comments about the rifle itself. Things to note: This gun is actually made in Turkey by Hatsan. The powerplant is excellent, bluing is nice and the gun is very accurate. I only have one other springer to compare it to (a Stoeger X20) but this gun requires a lot of effort to cock. The gun is also quite loud, it will definitely alert the neighbors that you are shooting it! The stock is a bit slimsy. The trigger, guard and safety are all plastic. I was disappointed with the scope and mounts. However, with the money I saved buying refurbished, I bought a CenterPoint 4x16x40 Adventure series scope which works great on this rifle. I would buy this rifle again in a heartbeat and I intend to get the Falcon version too.

Thinking of buying refurnished?
October 8, 2009
I was intrigued by the advertised power of this air gun and some reviews I read online. I bought one here "refurbished." This is how mine arrived: In the original box. The styrofoam inserts were there but a bit cracked. All documentation, accessories, etc. were there. I looked the rifle over - I found one tiny crack in the right-hand side of the stock. Other than that - the gun looked perfect (and I had to look HARD to find the crack). Cleaned the barrel and found very light lead fouling from a few pellets. So, I cleaned up the rifle using Gunzilla and everything cleaned up fine. In short: great gun, great value and I saved a lot of money. I would buy another refurnb air gun from AirGun Depot without hesitation. Great way to get the product you want and save some money at the same time!

I have had the for a month or so and I really love it. It shoots well and places the bullet in a nice pattern. Loud for an airgun but it is nice and a good buy for the money.

It says here 1200fps in 177. I'm sure that's a misprint... Does anyone have a chronograph to post real world numbers with a variety of pellets?
By Conor from Sunnyside, WA on January 31, 2012

Check out the GTA forums. Should be around 1000 with 10 grain pellets.
