Definitive Guide to Reximex RP

The Reximex RP is a Turkish regulated pellet rifle; it is available in .177 and .22 calibers. It comes in a soft zip-up case. The synthetic stock is available in multiple color options. It is also quickly detachable to transform the carbine air rifle into a pcp pellet pistol.

The total length as a pistol is 13" and as a carbine 23.6". The overall weight is also going to differ in pistol form and carbine. In pistol form, it weighs 1.98 lbs. And in carbine form, 2.2 lbs. The weight and size make this platform comfortably handled for most anyone, no matter the size or strength.

The ambidextrous textured pistol grip is form-fitting with a thumb rest on either side, and the carbine polymer stock has a rubber butt pad for comfort and stability.

It is equipped with a crossbolt safety, and when disengaged and pointed in a safe direction, it can be decocked using the side lever cocking handle and the two-stage adjustable trigger.

The removable 50cc aluminum air cylinder fills to a max pressure of 3,625 psi or 250 bar with the included stick-style fill probe. The easy-to-read pressure gauge is located at the end of the air cylinder.

Above the air cylinder is the 7.9" barrel with an included threaded muzzle adapter to attach a 1/2" UNF moderator to reduce the report.

The removable fiber optic sights are operable with the pistol configuration but mounting an optic on the 11mm dovetail rail is a better choice when utilizing it as a carbine. The blade front sight is adjustable for elevation, and the fiber optic rear sight is adjustable for windage.

Included with the Reximex are the fill port, a single-shot tray, two nine-round in .177 or seven-round in .22 magazines, and one rifle magazine holding fourteen rounds in .177 and twelve in .22.

Setup & Operation

Set-up is simple whether utilizing the Reximex RP as a pistol or a carbine. There are a few fewer steps when using the pistol configuration. Remove the pistol from the case; if you'd like to use the included open sights, then we can move on to the next steps. The next step is to fill the airgun with compressed air.

Always be sure the safety is engaged and the muzzle is pointed in a safe direction. Once those steps have been taken, cock the pcp and attach the fill probe to your desired air source. Then insert the probe into the fill port, fill the Reximex to the full 3,625 psi, bleed the valve, and remove the fill probe.

Next up, it's time to load the magazine. Turn the clear cover in the same direction the arrow is pointing until it won't turn anymore. Insert the pellet head first while keeping your finger over the hole to keep it from falling through. Once the first pellet is inserted, you can remove your finger; the magazine should be locked in place. Turn the clear cover to expose the remaining empty slots and fill.

While keeping the muzzle in a safe direction, pull the cocking lever to the rear position and insert the magazine from the right side of the airgun. Once the magazine is seated, push the cocking lever forward, take aim, disengage the safety, and squeeze the trigger.

To utilize the Reximex RP as a carbine, attach the butt stock to the pistol by inserting the matching ends into the pistol; push until you hear and feel it lock in place. Mount your optic and sight it in. Now you're ready to follow the other steps listed previously.

To adjust the regulator pressure, you must remove the air cylinder and be sure to follow instructions. The air cylinders are removable when full; in fact, you can purchase extra cylinders to have on hand.

Performance & Accuracy

This test was performed with the .22 caliber Reximex RP utilizing the carbine conversion and the Hawke Vantage HD 302.5-10x50 Scope. At twenty-five yards, we tested three types of ammo varying in weight. The JSB Exact Jumbo 15.89 grain, the H&N Field Target Trophy 14.66 grain, and the JTS Dead Center 18.1 grain pellets.

How many shots per fill? That's a great question and an important one. From 3,625 PSI to 1,450 PSI you can expect approximately 55 in .177 and 40 shots in .22.

Beginning with the JSB 15.89's, three shots in the same hole and then we had two flyers; next up the H&N Sport Field Target Trophies! These were the favorites, producing a one ragged hole five shot group. Finally, the JTS Dead Centers fell about in the same place as the JSB's, slightly better with one flyer.

JSB Exact Jumbo 15.89 grain pellet results at 25 yards:

• High: 575 FPS / 11.7 FPE
• Low: 553 FPS / 10.8 FPE
• Average: 566 FPS / 11.4 FPE

H&N Field Target Trophy 14.66 grain pellet results at 25 yards:

• High: 601 FPS / 11.7 FPE
• Low: 584 FPS / 11.1 FPE
• Average: 596 FPS / 11.6 FPE

JTS Dead Center 18.1 grain pellet results at 25 yards:

• High: 537 FPS / 11.6 FPE
• Low: 534 FPS / 11.4 FPE
• Average: 535 FPS / 11.5 FPE

Summing Up

The Reximex RP is a great platform! It's a tiny package loaded with a ton of unexpected features. When an airgunner looks at this and discovers all it has to offer, it's a bit of a surprise. From an adjustable regulator to deciding whether to utilize it as a pistol or carbine. You can mount a scope or use the included open sights. The threaded muzzle with included 1/2" adapter allows the shooter to attach a moderator to quiet the report.

Keep in mind it is quite compact, and if you choose an optic, an equally sized optic would most likely be optimal, like the UTG CQB BugBuster or a red dot like the Hawke Vantage Red Dot 1x25.

Depending on the optic you choose and the bag, this one would be a perfect backpacker. Attaching and removing the stock requires little effort and no tools! This saves space, time, and the possibility of losing any of your precious tools.
