Detailed Review

The features on this one may take some time to cover. Let's cover the important stuff first like the weight and length. The total weight without an optic is 6.17 lbs, and the total length is from 31.75" to 34.75".

The Reximex Tormenta Lite has the AR style stock equipped with a thick rubber butt pad for comfort and is adjustable for length of pull and your cheek weld. It also includes a Picatinny rail on the underside for added accessories, as well as front and rear sling mounts to give the shooter a hands-free option.

Following the stock forward is the action. On the right side of the action is the side lever cocking lever, the push button manual safety, a nine-point power adjustment knob so you can adjust for max shot count or max power, and then the air pressure gauge.

Below the action is the slanted, textured, and contoured pistol grip with a flat bottom for stability. In front of that is the trigger guard that houses the two-stage adjustable trigger. Located in front of the trigger guard is a spare magazine slot to keep one of the two magazines easily accessible! The .25 caliber magazines have a max capacity of 10 rounds while the .22 calibers will hold up to 12. On the textured and contoured forearm is another picatinny accessories rail for a bipod or other desired equipment.

Nestled in the forearm is the 130cc air cylinder with the easy-to-read manometer on the right side. The maximum fill pressure is 200 bar or just above 2900 PSI. You can achieve that pressure by filling it via the standard quick disconnect fill port located just under the barrel. After filling, you can expect to get sixty-five shots per fill, depending on your power setting.

The 14.9" barrel is rifled but not shrouded, it has a fluted muzzle and a barrel band. Above the barrel is the split Picatinny optics rail, and it is not equipped with open sights, an optic is necessary for consistent accuracy.

Setup & Operation

The first responsibility a shooter has before operating a new gun is to be sure the safety is engaged and the breech is empty. Once that's been accomplished, it is safe to move on to the next step. Check all your screws, parts, and pieces to be sure they are snug and accounted for.

If everything checks out, mount your optic. Be sure the optic is level and the screws are snug. Never over-tighten them, just snug them enough to secure the optic.

Time to feel the pressure! Remove the fill port dust cap from the end of the air cylinder. Keep it in a safe place until you're done filling. Next, connect your air source to the Foster fill port and fill to 200 bar, release the pressure valve, disconnect the air source, and replace the dust cap.

Next up, get your projectiles ready! Turn the top clear cover of the magazine until it stops, place your finger over the hole and load the pellets head first until full. With the muzzle pointed in a safe direction, pull the lever to the rear position and insert the magazine into the breech. Return the cocking lever to the forward position, take aim, disengage the safety, and squeeze the trigger.

Performance & Accuracy

Expecting a shot curve from the Tormenta, it is crucial to keep an eye on the pressure gauge when testing different pellets for accuracy and velocity to give each one a fair shot. These tests were performed with the .22 caliber on high power with three types of ammo. The JSB Jumbo Heavy Diabolo 18.13's, the H&N Sport Field Target Trophy 14.66 grain pellets, and the JTS Dead Center 18.13's. The JSB's gave the best performance with an almost one hole five shot group.

JSB Jumbo Heavy Diabolo 18.13 Grains results at 25 yards:

  • High: 872 FPS / 30.56 FPE
  • Low: 835 FPS / 28.02 FPE
  • Average: 851 FPS / 29.1 FPE

H&N Sport Field Target Trophy 14.6 Grains results at 25 yards:

  • High: 876 FPS / 24.88 FPE
  • Low: 846 FPS / 23.2 FPE
  • Average: 863 FPS / 24 FPE

JTS Dead Center 18.13 Grains results at 25 yards:

  • High: 831 FPS / 27.75 FPE
  • Low: 809 FPS / 26.3 FPE
  • Average: 822 FPS / 27 FPE

Before finishing up the testing, it is relevant to give some low power readings as well. Using the JTS pellets and dropping the power knob to the third placement setting the chronograph read much different results but produced very similar accuracy. The one-inch center target was hit consistently, shot after shot with an aimpoint of about one and a half mil dots higher.

JTS Dead Center 18.13 Grains results at 25 yards (Low Power):

  • High: 524 FPS / 11.03 FPE
  • Low: 517 FPS / 10.74 FPE
  • Average: 521 FPS / 10.91 FPE

Summing Up

The toughest thing about owning this PCP is going to be, "What to do today, plink or hunt?" This air rifle being extremely versatile, may send you into a place of indecision; it's a good thing it doesn't take much effort to set it up for either application! The adjustment possibilities allow the shooter to get personal and comfortable with the air rifle whether at the bench or in the field.

Adjust the stock's length of pull and fit your cheek weld for the perfect field of view through the optic. Make it your own with the accessories' picatinny rails, adding a bipod, a flashlight, or even a UTG Vertical Foregrip for even more stability with your offhand shots.

The contoured grip has a perfect feel for large or small hands as well as the textured forearm. The smooth side cocking lever action, two easy-to-load rotary mags, and the crisp, smooth two-stage adjustable trigger only aid in a smooth operation. When you may not have a table or pockets to store your extra mag, you can pop your extra mag in the magazine compartment in front of the trigger guard for safekeeping.

The Tormenta Lite is consistently accurate with the right ammo, matched with the production of plenty of power and energy, makes it a perfect hunting platform. Its lightweight and compact build makes it perfect for almost any size or stature. Don't limit this rifle to the woods, turn the power down, and experience the same accuracy but a higher shot count. If you're looking for one air rifle that can, in some sense, do it all, the Reximex Tormenta Lite may be exactly what you're looking for!
